Always funny how much people beg for male content and then... eh, the deal isn't THAT good, he's a LITTLE generic looking, not happy about that shirt, etc.

I rarely use male content and really the only reason I'm getting him is because I get a free female pro bundle in the deal. I have a TON of male characters and think I've only rendered 4 or 5 males in the entire time I've been doing this lol. But I will make him into a hunk and get rid of that beer belly! He has a nice face, why was it ruined with a bad body? Doesn't matter really, I have so many morphs...

And I still don't get the "socks and krokz" outfit. What decade did men dress like that? The shorts are usable, and the hat maybe for a 1940's look, (and I have similar retro hats) not sure when those sunglasses were in style, the shirt looks really fake and the socks with weird yellow shoes??? I rarely go into detail criticizing an outfit, but what is that lol???

You've never seen a guy wearing Crocs? Lucky you... I can sort of see this outfit (and yeah, the shirt does look bad, but it and the trousers may be salveagable if they can be dforced) on an older guy on a camping holiday.

This is a common look. Just google “men in crocs”. They do it because it is comfortable.  I wear crocks often. If you are on your feet all day they are comfortable and easy to clean.

Thank you, DAZ for giving us Tristan for Christmas!  He went directly into my cart along with his HD, Burchard, and two sets of poses.

Yay! I am so happy! Tristan 8 is fantastic! Thank you, DAZ! I love him! He went straight into my cart with a few other goodies. What a great Christmas present!

Maybe because I've always lived in the heart of major urban U.S. cities. The BBQ outfit looks very suburban and not sure if the socks and krokz is supposed to be American suburbia or maybe Europe? I've never seen that style of shoe.

OK I googled it and the real name is "crocs." Plastic shoes that look like the ones in the outfit. I have never in my life heard of these shoes or seen them! Who knew I would learn about a niche fashion trend through Daz lol!

What people want is male content that is of the same quality and variety as the female content, so there’s no contradiction in making legitimate criticisms about the male content that is offered, unless you think people should just be happy with whatever meager male content the Daz store deigns to give them.

People in the medical profession have worn crocs for decades. They are comfortable for your feet to stand in and easy to sanitize... unlike regular shoes. You do have to wear something under them though. Or your feet get cold.

You're from LA, right? Hollywood Blvd. is filled with tourists dressed like that!

I have some Crocs brand flipflops, they are great. My feet get too hot in the regular Crocs, even with ventilation holes.

I used to wear crocks when I was working in the garden or the garage or someplace otherwise as dirty. You just spray them off with the hose and they're ready to go again. BTW, I'm from the U.S. ;)

A lot of ppl wear them by the pool because you can put your wet feet in them without worry and walk across the lawn without stepping on something sharp or, worse yet, a yellow jacket (I've done it).

I like crocs as pool/water shoes, because I have very flat feet and otherwise walking on concrete/hard sand is excruciating after an hour.

I also appreciate the extra traction in wet environments.

Crocs and socks... my wife would kill me. But I've seen it a bunch, particularly up in the Pacific NorthWest (complete with goofy puff vests)

You know, toss in some better modeling and that puffy vest and this outfight might actually have been worth something...

  • I wear the plastic clogs all the time too

Crocs is a trademarked brand hence generic words

I'm thinking about it. The couple render posts people have put up make him look much better than the promos. Wouldn't mind getting the centaur bundle for free either.

I have been a Daz customer for 16 1/2 years. When the design and realism of male hair and clothing for G8M is on par with Michael 3, I do not feel the obligation to support any and all content. I have enough 'make due' in my runtime. When something looks good, I buy it. When it doesn't, I skip it.

I am grateful for the return of the HD morph being free with the Pro Bundle. Very nice deal with this one. No complaints about that at all.

Well, other than the one that with free items in the cart, I don't get the full value of the PC+ coupon. But a free HD morph is worth a hidden price of under a dollar.

I really like Tristan himself. Not sure about the bundle, though, I rarely render "everyday" people so those outfits are not something I have much use for, but the free pro bundle offer is interesting. Decisions, decisions...

Tristan seems to be a mix of Diego and Elios.

I like him. So many men are growing into that build earlier now due modern factors, like sedentary work, gaming, TV/Video watching... I saw my son do that after he got out of the Army. So it is realistic. Add in long commutes, taking care of their families, little time or money for gyms. Morph packages can adjust him to how you need anyway.

I was pulled away before I could do more than download and do one test render of Tristan 8, the Space Trotter Outfit, Clifford Hair, and Jepe's Cinematic5 Props + Poses for Michael 8 (which I was finally able to pick up, thank you DAZ).

RE: Crocs, I love them. I have a pair that has fuzzy liners, and I wear them in the winter. Only time it didn't quite work out, was the last snow and I went down the stairs with the dog, to 6 - 8 inches already on the ground, right after I woke up. And guys with sandals (of all types and socks) are a thing in Denver.

  • I personally don't like when the promo features an item not available in the pro bundle - he looks great in Diego's hair, but that's not in this bundle.  The hair that is in there - still deciding on that.  I like the free HD morph and the free pro bundle offer, but I'm still on the fence.  I just have no use personally in my art for the outfits that come with this bundle.  But I do like his face.

Tristan 8 HD with Benji. Wearing the BBBQ Pants, shirt, and shoes on https://www.daz3d.com/1stbastions-highland-lakeside-cabin-and-dock which I recently picked up. The pants and shirt and ribbing and texture that are nice. I didn't have any issue with dForce with this pose. The mood is caused by Christmas music playing as I put it together. As a character to transform into whomever you need, he seems to be a great starting point.

I'm one of those folks always asking for more male content, so whenever we do get something a small part of me almost feels obliged to like it... but that's of course not how it works.

Tristan is fine, in my very subjective opinion. He does add something slightly different to the G8 line up. But he's not for me. And that's fine, too.

I think that for every 15 or 20 people on the forums who say, "I would buy xxxx if someone made it" two or three sales usually come of it. There's always a lot of, "not quite what I wanted" and "if you did this or added that I'd buy it" and so on (the most painful, to my mind, is "I'll wait and get it when it's in FastGrab or dirt cheap in a sale). The most prominent example I've ever seen of this happened way, way, way back in the dawn of Poser time, at the Poser Pros store (2005?). Xena had come out with an outfit for Mike 3 for $2.49. In the forums there, at least a dozen people begged her to come out for an M2 version (because M3 was too high-poly for their systems). She did it and, if I remember correctly, there were somewhere around 3 sales, one of them mine (though I didn't ask her to make it). It wasn't a matter of, "that's not what I wanted", since it was the exact same item, just for M2). People asked her publicly to make this for them, then they didn't spend the $2.49 when she did.
