Was trying to generate a 'dingy' type light from a single lightbulb for a room for a sinister ambience with Iray (like in image) what do you think the best way to do this effect with Iray would be? is there an 'Iray bulb' type product? I can't find one if there is lol. Any advice here please.

I lloked in my own inventory, and I could find a single in https://www.daz3d.com/aquarium-bar
although it has a visible wire. But that can be changed either by turning the roughness of the glass high or changing it to another glass shader.
But modelling a light bulb like that should be fairly simple if you have tried that before.
Thankyou all! gottit.
imo photometric ies lights work best for dingy room single bulb
i think ds can do ies
there are free ies light files on the webs

ANd this is what a fast modelled ligth bulb with a emissive shader look like.
Is the light-bob iray?
Another option is to use any bulb and make the glass surface as an emissive. Set the lumens high enough so that it glows nicely. This however will often not cast that much light (the lumens would need to be massive for this, in which case the bulb would be solid white and not look so good. Then add a primitive sphere, and place around the bulb, set the cut out opacity to 0.0000001, and also make it an emissive. This invisible light can now be set to add as much light as needed without washing out the bulb.
If you're asking for my picture, then yes, it is Iray. The bulb has applied the default emissive shader with an adjusted emission value.
The walls are primitives with a shader.
Here is the same scene with a higher ISO, as the image migth be a bit dark (as it would be if taken it inddor with only a single bulb and low ISO).
No I meant this https://www.daz3d.com/light-bob
that someone suggested.
It's Iray - from the product page: Daz Studio Iray Material Presets (.DUF)
