well I personally like Robyn's slightly more curvy shape and her eyes are stunning. Also is it just me, but she doesn't seem as orange colored as some of the older characters :)
the free g7 pro items..i have bits and pices of all of them, bought what I found interesting before, so that deal leaves me a bit flat. It is an excellent deal for those not owning so much ... 3 free pro bundles..you really can't beat it ... plus the GC discount.
And then you can spend a couple bucks more and buy a couple $1 products and the $2.99 deals. Its not too bad at all.
I agree though, that the new pro bundle is pretty yawning. I must have 50 G8 characters now. maybe more...most of them seem to look like sisters.
Yep it's a really great deal for the newbies and others who don't already have all the Pro Bundles.
BUT it's just an average deal for us loyal buyers who already have all the Pro bundles (or all their contents). In my case I already have all the Genesis 8 bundles and all but 3 of the Genesis 2 and 3 Pro bundles. And of the 3 I own all but 3 of the individual items. So, for me ithere isn't much extra incenctive and it is pretty much just a decision of whether or not I want Robyn 8 Pro with one addon for $36.73. I'm thinking about it but may not get it since I already have so many characters

If there was, this might be the first time I've not gotten one for previous Pro bundle purchases (last Pro bundle purchase was the Indian couple or the Greek guy, whichever was most recent), I've only bought the ocassional base figure since (last was Jenni, but only for 2 of the non-bundle addon figures).
Having a really enticing deal run on the day before a new character release doesn't help either.
I rather like Robyn, but too much spent recently, mediocre bundle contents (hairs look nice though) and pitiful selection of additional addons means I'd be forcing myself.
Not as far as I am aware, and I have all of the options for the free Genesis 2/3 Pro Bundles..
I like these free pro-pack deals to get those pro-packs that I actually don't have too much interest in, but which may sometime in the future turn out useful anyway. I'd still like it more if, instead of such deals, HD-Addons were turned into PC+ items at a standard ~70% discount. I'd feel much more inclined to pick them up than I am now. The main reason why I check the sales page almost every day, is to check for HD-Addon deals. Pro-pack deals are a welcome alternative thoug, as I definitely don't have all of those either.
I don't understand the need of so many "base" characters, today they only seems to be "expensive" characters.
Lets take as example V4, she had "The Girl", "V4", Aiko 4, and few others... but every base has tons of characters!
Doesn't makes any sense to me to have tons of base characters with just 2 or 3 derived characters. (Even worst, sometimes the derived character uses just an insignificant porcentage from that base character)
4 Pro Bundles, 2 add-ons, and two bonus characters for around $40 is a pretty sweet deal. I didn't even hesitate.
The character itself doesn't do much for me... but the sale certainly does. I just gotta align the optimal shopping cart. For once I don't even think I need to worry about waiting a few days for the sale to reach the optimal discount.
I'll get just the Robyn 8 base character. I never buy Pro Bundles because of the cost and they usually have things I can't use. However, I was so hoping for a new male character. Leisa didn't get a male counterpart. I need more guys!
I totally agree with you, JUJU. After three female characters in a row, I was expecting a male character. I don't think we've ever seen two male characters come out in a row. DAZ, please let the next new character be male.
I’m in another state with no computer, so I won’t really have an opinion on Robyn for a couple more days at least. However, three free pro bundles made this a no-brainer for me.
Actually we have, Nix 8 was followed by Christian 8, although that happened just the once, although there have been 4 females in a row two times already, so the next one might be female as well.
4 Pro Bundles plus a few extras for 48$? No brainer for me xD

I was kind of hoping it was going to be a halloween release since the theme would fit the character (I certainly hope Tasha isn't her replacement)
To me, there's nothing unusual about her, under the arm looks like a material stretch that's an error, and there's no incentives for people who own many of the Pro Bundles. Pass, again. That's two Pro Bundles in a row, which is unheard of for me. These gals are just repeats with slight tweaks, and I think if you have morph packs you can easily recreate or get very close to this character. I'm guessing, but other skins may be quite close as there's nothing that stands out on the face.
Has anyone commented yet on the lack of characters in the Add-Ons? The vendors didn't even make additional characters for this character release.
We just got Leisa and Jenni, two middle aged sets of women.... I think you'd already be thankful! ;)
The vendors are also getting busy with holiday stuff -both in real life and in 3D work. Yeah its barely the holiday season, but when you have to get seasonal stuff in BEFORE the season, you gotta juggle. Can't catch them all. (or is it like Pokemon catch them all? I don't have time for games anymore... )
Btw, i DID like the clothes that were out with this set. And actually I had a character ready named Robyn... I thought, "there's a name no one will use....I'm sooooo original!" Oops. Haven't had time to rename it all though. :P
While Robyn is obviously a high-quality character, and the deals look pretty good, I would honestly have preferred a similar bundle deal based around the new "Sari" character (partiularly with an add-on for different HD character ages, young to old), as she would add much-needed divesity to the mix.
Yes, definitely the skimpiest selection of Add-ons to a character bundle I've seen since Brodie.
Excellent deal for newbies. Not a bad deal for anyone else.
The figure looks useful. Another in a series of unidealized character "types" This one I'd have cast as the girl next door, or the heroine's best friend. The bundle outfits are a bit odd for that casting though. Truly appalling shoes. Real ankle-breakers. Can't see much use for the Clear Point getup in general. But the rest of the Emo outfit looks rather nice and just different enough from the usual skirt and shirt to add some variety to a scene. The Helios dress is not offensive, and might get some use as well. The skater outfit may be niche, but is a good example of what fits in that niche. The skates look very nice indeed, and we get both ice and roller styles.
My main beef this time is no 3DL materials for either of the hairs. That's just plain annoying.
Since I have all the Gen 8 Pro Bundles, the offer for a free one was a non-offer. And with those earlier purchases, I was able to pick-up the V4/M4, Genesis, Gen 2, and Gen 3 bundles I wanted. Again non-offer. But great if you are a new user of DAZ Studio.
That said, I do like her, even if she reminds me of others. Her size alone is different. Her makeup is very nice. I am not a fan of extreme makeups suitable for stage or street work. Or the goth scene. That is just me.
I dd a render just to look at her underarms, the left specifically and I could not see that 'scaring' that showed up in the promo picture. Maybe they fixed the texture, but didn't redo the promo? I am attaching the render.
I tried the dForce hair, but the bangs 'crimped' up on me in the simulation. I really need to spend a day or two and figure out dForce hair correctly. This has to be user error. But, without the simulation it is a nice hair.

Well if there was stacking, it's gone now. The deal brings me Lee 8 for free, all other G2/G3 bundles I own. Still thinking whether I should be or not. Definitely not too attractive.

I'm not a fan of Robyn either. So I pretend I just bought Kala 8 Pro and Robyn 8 is the free bundle. Then it looks much better. I used todays 20% gift card and got 4 pro bundles, 2 addons and some other stuff for $37.10. Not a bad deal.
I'm still on the fence. For a while they almost had me with this one, but then I decided to change which free G8 bundle I wanted, and then I couldn't decide, and then... I just emptied the cart.
Unlike the vast majority of the latest female characters I think this one actually might serve a bit of a purpose, as she seems to have a tiny bit less of an idealized body shape than most of them. Sure, no Bethany, or Rune or Lilith or anything else that looks like it might be more than a modest Victoria 8 morph. We couldn't go that far this generation! But at least it's something.
I used to buy absolutely every Pro Bundle, but I barely even looked at the recent ones. This time around....well, that's some pretty nice hair in there, I might consider it :)
