That was quick. Did anyone get a banner for her? With Lee 8 I have at least one Gen8-Bundle to pick for free. With Gen3/2 there is nothing left for be to add to the collection.

No banner, and nothing in my in box. (Not that I'm interested in another generic G8 white female.)
Without a banner, if you get two add-ons, she comes down to 33.06, and probably PC+ is part of that. I was curious how low it would be without a banner just to pick up the three other free pro bundles.
I think Robyn has no apparent character at all; not someone who would stand out in a crowd for sure. Generic model material. I have more than enough of that type. I'd pass if she was free.
Not bad, but not different enough from Babina 8 to be bought.

I just started a seperate thread on how awful this promotion is. I haven't been able to take advantage of most of the promotions for this week because I already owned all of the items in the StaffPicks bundle, so this is like rubbing salt in the wounds. As for the character herself... I really can't find anything distinctive to say about her other than she's short. Not even petite, just short, so she can basically be duplicated by a single dial spin. Top it off with a mediocre bundle and the fact that DAZ apparently couldn't even get a single PA to make a tie in character other than the two in the bundle, and I suspect that we may be looking at the sputtering end of the Genesis 8 product line. Not with a bang, but with a whimper...

She's Daz's standard fare, it has to be said, but the promo offer of a Genesis 8 Pro bundle and two Genesis 2/3 bundles (on which note, notice that the text further down the page suggesting that you can only pick one seems to be incorrect - you can have two Genesis 2/3 bundles in the cart), and 50% off for picking up just two add-ons is pretty good for me (although perhaps not some other customers), so I'm expecting I'll probably get her once I've worked out what I want to put in my cart.
But the flat, V4-era-looking skin! Core characters should be state-of-the-art. Guess not.
The Pro Bundle comes down to $33.06 with one add-on, which would be the only reason to get it IF I wanted Robyn. But she's another soccer mum for Leisa and Jenni to hang with.
People are complaining about the deal but:
Doesn't seem all that bad to me for 4 pro bundles (2 G8 and 2 G3 and 2 add-ons for robyn8).
As far as robyn goes, yep its a white girl but i do like her. (and i just saw Darcy8 at the catsuit)
Hmm. Looks like yet another case of DAZ's marketing people not being able to write clearly The ad text reads "Along with any Robyn 8 Add-On Items to get an EXTRA 50% OFF* them", which by any rule of English only implies that the 50% off is on the Add-on items. It's currently applying to the Pro Bundle as well, however...
I think the deal is okay... and I'm usually one of the first who complains ;)
I believe that is just what it means. I have the pro bundle and one add on and each received the extra 50%.
Sometiems the deals aren't so obvious, but today stacked up pretty well and I didn't even grab the pro bundle!
20% off gift card... so first grabbed the $30 gift card which costs $24 with today's 20% so i have 30 dollars woot... then back to the items for today .. LOVING the cat suit and emo outfit/add-on and mihrelle's hair
so a few new things in cart (outfit, textures, plus hair). grab a couple of the 2.99 items that are discounted....then grabbed something else from Rarestone because OMG sales.... :P Trying not to look at other stores because i gave myself a 30 dollar limit here... like a kid in a candy store...

Okay, I can tell you why for me it's a quite bad "deal":
To get that G8 and the two G7 free bundles I would have to buy a figure I have not the least interest in, with a bunch of items in her Pro pack I have even less interest in. Not very tempting...
If it would be a nice male figure - one with more character, like Ollie, Floyd, Vladimir, and less like the standard "good looking young male with a sixpack" - with some interesting clothes and a nice hair or two getting the same kind of additional stuff, I would be much more inclined to open my purse and make a buy.
As it is now, even the about $ 40.- this deal would cost me feel as "too much for too little value" to me.
And it helps, that I don't really need that figure or anything else offered in the deal. It's all only "nice to have" at maximum...
And sometimes they are obvious but not applicable. Out of all the items that DAZ has as add-ons for this promo, there are exactly zero that I don't already have. I buy the Pro Bundles they come out and everything else is the exact same pool of promotional items that they've been using all week with the StaffPicks promotions, so the few items that I didn't have are long gone. It's kind of hard to believe this is the same company that put on such a spectacular showing during the PC+ sale...

Are you kidding me? 3 new base character in a month ...great, I had a hunch that there could be a third release....but...BUT... 3 female????? No male????? I am still waiting for Gianni 8. :(
They keep the Male release till the week before Christmas when people have other things to spend time and money on, and then tell us Male content doesn't sell...
As I said in the other (deleted?) thread, you were comparing the staff picks with itself. The new bundle has quite different content.

Not every promo or bundle is perfect for everyone. Some promos have extras you can get, some you don't. Staff bundle was one I passed up for that reason. It's still a good sale, before the extras- which, let's be fair- extras are extras. ;) Funny because I didn't go for most of the extras and skipped the pro stuff and dollar stuff but still was a great deal. :)

That's now three genericly pretty white women in a row, all of whom seem to be lacking generally anything to differentiate themselves from the other hoard of boring, genericly pretty white women. Not even thier pro-bundles manage to be in any way interesting.
They are just common character morphs. The difference is now DAZ promotes them as if they were the equivalent of V4 and M4 - i.e. a base figure. That there are morphs that require these morphs is nothing more than a marketing strategy.
Yes, she’s a bit generic, but I did get another pro-8 bundle I didn’t own yet (the only I didn’t own though). And I already had all of the G7 bundles, so that didn’t entice me at all. I probably would have passed completely if it hadn’t been for the other G8 pro bundle Inhad previously passed on. Two G8 pro bundles for basically $25 each is a decent deal for me.

It's a pretty good deal if you don't already have everything yet. Robyn 8 Pro bundle, two texture add-ons, and three free Pro bundles for $40.40. Buy it with a 20% off gift card and it comes down to $32.32. These are the kinds of deals during new character premiers that have been sorely lacking for quite some time.
With the mixed discounts on the store credit I'm sitting on, my cart with the bundle and two add-ons will cost $30.96 out of pocket. Unfortunately when I try to use the $6 PC coupon, it's only taking $1.33 off the total order. If I take the free bundles out, the entire $6 gets added to the bundle and add-ons, so it's applying much of that coupon to the free items. :(
Once you get into a Genesis cycle where all the UVs are the same then it basically amounts to skin textures, hair, poses, and clothing. And whether or not the HD is included.
That's what was asked for in the forums countless times before that's what they actually did with Genesis 8. I like it that way better. Only problem is when they do these model type females the clothing and hair on offer in them is so same-same and uninspiring. The skin too, but I'm guessing there because using the same lighting in countless ad copy portraits makes the material sets look very similar from those distances. Those that aren't noobs or Pro Bundle collectors will wait for next product Pro Bundle.
