how can i keep my cameras stable during dforce simulations/animations?

it's driving me crazy.  not to mention wasting a lot of work.

sometimes my cameras lurch around and turn somersaults during a dforce sim/animation.  sometimes they don't.

they're never parented to the figure that's moving.

is there a way to keep where i put them?

i'd love to find a setting along the lines of 'ignore all cameras during animation sequence' or something like that.  some way to make them invisible to the animation engine.

or is there some simple trick like 'set viewport to perspective view before animating' that i should know?

any help or suggestions appreciated.  thanks!

  • What if you did the simulation, deleted the cameras, and saved that scene, then created a new scene and imported the first one? The cameras from the 2nd scene would be still in default position.

  • Perhaps do the sim using the perspective view?

Your cameras must have been moved around and got keyframes set in the timeline. You could delete the keyframes, or create a brand new camera just before sim.

Yes, I would suggest that - indeed, I would suggest using the Perspective View for scene set up and posing in general, so it doesn't get its chnages recorded or added to the undo stack where they will confuse trying to undo actual scene actions.
