Just apply the materials preset for the Genesis 3 Female character - you will then need to handle the lashes separately.
Easiest way to do it: Load a G3F character with the appropriate textures as well as the G8F character that you want to put the textures onto. Select the G3F figure, open the surfaces tab, rightclick on the G3F characters' entry there, and select "copy surfaces". Switch to the G8F figure in the surfaces tab, right click it, and select "paste surfaces".
You can also do it manually for each seperate surface, by copying all the settings and looking up the appropriate textures by browsing, but simply copying is about as fast as it gets, unless there's some tool I forgot about to do it automagically.
If you use Agenesis 2, just load the diffuse textures manually and then apply as you would be G3; I wrote myself a script to deal with all the custom textures I use (I manually adjust all textures, regardless of generation), but it works fine with the default textures obviously..
Note that copy-paste doesn't copy the shader, just the property values. In most cases that won't be an issue since they will be using the Iray Uber Base, but it is something to bear in mind.
Loading a G8 material preset on a G3 does not work for me. I load the G8 character and save him/ her as a material preset.
This material preset I can apply on a G3 character then.
Edit: Sorry wrong direction.
Ah. That's helpful if you've already converted it to 3DL, tweaked surfaces, and later decide that you really would rather have a different skin.
Yes, most Genesis 8 materials are actually Hierachical Materials presets, so that they can affect the lashes (and brows if necessary). Hierarchical materials presets are tied to the figure they were made for.
Note that the Daz 'base figures' (Victoria 7, Michael 7, etc) usually had their own uv-maps - so those don't apply well to G8. Materials that use the base G3 uvs will work fine.
