DAZ women are too tall

As I prefer taller women I tend to use the height morph in the opposite direction.  It's tempting to just scale the figure but of course this isn't how most tall people grow, medical issues notwithstanding.  Height is mostly in the thigh and shin isn't it, not all over.  I'm not sure if there are morphs that'll do leg, torso and neck seperately.  Some women have longer torsos and longer necks than others.  Then there's hands and feet to consider.  Taller women generally have thinner, longer feet and longer, more slender fingers.  Perhaps someone should do a morph pack with all of these options (perhaps they already exist).

Anyway, I can't say I've made a particular study of it (I mostly walk around looking at the pavement).

I think the best approach is have a vision of what you want, or a reference shot, then use scale, height, leg length, torso length, and other dials to tweak it.

Because some people have long thin legs, some people have big meaty legs, torsos can seem a little compact or lanky... all over.

Zev0's Shape Shift has length morphs for thighs and shins (also abdomen, pelvis and arms) - nothing for neck length though.

My mother pointed it out to me and I have not been able to unsee it since

Actors and TV personalities nearly all have big heads

    ...yes

Continuing the strangeness, Yuzuru (5'7.3"/172.3 cm) was explicitly designed as a companion to Kanade (5'11"/179.9 cm).

You could select "show hidden properties."  That will let you see the seperate X, Y, and Z scale sliders.  Then select the body parts you want to lengthen.  If you want longer legs, you can just scale on the Y axis.

That's only the beginning.  Going forward, Daz figures will respect the ratio shown for the pictograms for the High School Hallway promo

Non-uniform scaling (even uniform scaling) can cause problems further down the line so I try never to do that.

I don't know which morph package it come in, since I have a lot of them, but go to Legs in the Shaping tab, select 'Real World' and when I look there's a legs length morph. The section it's listed in is color coded red, so I expect it to be in one of the fairly basic morph packs.

Yeah, crude scaling on the bones of the character's rig kinda/sorta works, but scaling isn't morphing, and there can be unintended consequences when you try to pose things.

I've had issues with all the base figures, cause not all woman are runway models, and males Mr. Universe, Rofl !!!!!  All people are beautiful in thier own way.  Since I began, PA's are developing more natural base figures, variety is always a plus.  My ex wife is 4'11"  I'm 6'2" variety, Rofl !! cheeky

  • It would be interesting to develop a language that would allow positioning of one character's limbs and body relative to another. Right now, if you have a tall character putting hands on the other's hips, with a disparity like @AJ2112, the current method would have the taller character grabbing the short character's chest instead!.

I only tend to use it when I have created a character that I wish to save, but I assume that selecting the adjusted figure, whether morphed or scaled, and using Adjust Rigging to Shape should cure most issues prior to posing the modified character, JOdel. I haven't used it as a temporary measure while constructing a scene, but I don't see why it wouldn't work for that.

Correct. There was no need to do a neck length since the Daz Body Morphs already has that option. I wanted to reduce the amount of redundancy as much as possible and only include options that I felt the base Body Morphs package was missing.

I just loaded Mei Lin 7 for G3F into a scene with Mattias for G8M and she was like Goliath & he was like David. It's not surprising that DAZ makes the female models like runway models when so many buy to do "pretty portraits" but then don't make all the males like male football quarterbacks in size and beefiness so the females wind up looking like the 3D modeler designed the females for another set of males that aren't sold in the DAZ Store.

Been there, done that.  When my wife & I were dating, I was 6'2" and 220 Lbs mostly muscle because I had worked my grandparents farm every summer wheh I was in high school and was an oil field equipment mechanic (lots of sledge hammer swinging to break stuff loose that was frozen) and my wife was 4'10 & 3/4" and 95 pounds wringing wet.  She was a small a cup and looked like she was about 14 at that time (she is 3 years older than me).  Sure was a lot of fun when we got carded because they thought I was dating an underaged girl and trying to sneal her into a R rated movie.  Of course us showing up on my scooter didn't help (bikers were not well liked in the late 70's early 80's)
