I can't even open the thumnail png files in in other graphics programs

    That sounds as if the files failed to decrypt on download - it does happen sometimes. Try unisntalling, then work offline and find the product in the Content Library>Prodcts list, right-click on its container, and select Delete. Then resatart DS, go online so DS can grab a fresh copy of the emtadata, and try downloading again.

    For whatever reason the connect installation just wouldn't work, but install manager was able to succeede

    Please open a ticket to report that - it may only be an issue on your system for soem reason, since there hasn't been a flood of posts on this, but it's possible that there is a more general issue in whichc ase opening a ticket will help Daz to spot and resolve it.

    Problem solved, I guess it wasn't properly deleting the corrupted install or they fixed asomething in the installer file
