Hexagon - DAZ 3D clothes morphs

Hi,

I have a question. I'm trying to create clothes morph for genesis8 figure. The figure is not in a base position. The figure is in walking position.

I create clothes morph in hexagon and then send it back to DAZ 3D ("send to DAZ studio" option).

The problem is:

Pictures 1,2,3 - clothes morph created in Hexagon and send to DAZ Studio.

Picture 4 - clothes in DAZ Studio without applying morph

Picture 5 - 50% morph apply

Picture 6 % - 100% morph apply

You can see that the morph doesn't look like the created morph in Hexagon. It's rotated and whole clothes is deformed.

What am I missing? Is it even possible to create clothes morph when the clothes is not in base position??

Thank you

I just ran into a similar situation creating a custom morph for the Daz Housecat. I think the problem is that when you come back and spawn the morph, Studio is comparing the new mesh shape to the original (non posed) mesh; so it thinks that all that movement of the legs, etc. is part of what you want in your morph. Which is them multiplied when you apply the morph to the dress that has already been moved.

I think the only way to get around it is to create the morph from the zero pose, but I'm new to morphing myself, so I could be missing a step that would let you accomplish what you're trying to do.

  • Well if you are missing a step I'm missing this one step as well. ;)

  • Was the pose still applied to the figure when you sent the morph back?

  • Yes, the pose was still applied.

Well it looks like the same problem appears even when I apply the morph on zero clothes...

When I send clothes to hexagon and do nothing with the clothes and then send it back to DAZ this morph (where is no morph change) deforme the clothes as well.

  • Are the clpthes themselves perhaps loading with a pose or morph applied? If you go to the Bridges tab of the Edit>Preferencs dialogue (Daz Studio>Prefrences on a Mac) you can set the bridge to show more options in the dialogue, which may help to pin down what is going wrong.
