Victoria 7 Appears In Dating Game
The gaming site Rock-Paper-Shotgun published a preview of a title called "House Party" Apparently it's not a very good game, but what caught my eye was a screenshot with our trusty Vicky 7 featured prominently, default hair and everything.
Some of the other characters in the game looked familiar, perhaps they're other Daz models? Wonder what kind of licensing deal is going on there.

LOL I was wondering when someone was gonna post about it haha. I was laughing about this with my hubby not that long ago XD
There is somebody over in the Unity forums that uses DAZ characters to make games and, lol, her games are even worse (I followed a link to a short video preview), but she does claim to make a living from making those sex games.
You have to admit though the models hold up pretty good except the animation is awful and the skin textures look awful too. If they could get the lighting and animation right it'd by a nice technical acheivment, not that I mean they need to do a top of the line iRay quality renders but the lighting is pretty bad.
I played it, it's actually a pretty funny game in progress. It's still in a really rough state though. Lot's to be improved on.
it is allowed for certain products from here to be used in games if you but the license from the vendors/creators of those products which isn't cheap obviously
If the game just uses sprites or animations then the game license isn't needed.
I have seen at least one other game where the developer uses Victoria 7 with the same hair for the title screen. My guess is some developers just don't want/can't invest much when they start and go with the default character + hair. House Party is 3d so they probably use the indie game license from daz which would limit them to daz original characters.
I noticed I have the same house in my UE4 editor Library
I saw Luthbel's Wise Wizard set up tonight on an episode of Ancient Aliens. They used him to depict a druid. I just kinda sat there and blinked at it for a second. The render was actually pretty bad too...LOL.
I'm surprised anyone even watches that show anymore, much less that its still being aired. After watching a couple of episodes about several years ago, it boggled my mind how The History Channel was willing to air such rubbish; especially the episode where they were talking about Puma Punku and saying the stones were granite or diorite with grooves and cuts that were laser-precise and no kind of tools were found in the area... I mean ffs, one can go to the library or look up scholarly archaeological info on Puma Punku online and see that the individuals on Ancient Aliens are a bunch of crackpots trying to profit off of the ignorance of the masses, heh.
I watch them for the mind-expanding material
Some of the best and most successful Sci-Fi taps that vein.
I immediately saw the thumbnail on YouTube searching
Yea, if you go to YouTube you can see this at time 13:44.... been watching to see when it shows.
True, but when one outright replaces established archaeological facts with completely false information, and repackages it as if it were factual in order to support their own theory, I would hardly call it "mind expanding material". If anything, I would say its fraudulent, because its not even being presented as "sci-fi"; especially when you consider that it was or is being aired on the History Channel.
Kinda how I feel about it. Anyone that can style their hair like that isn't trying to get me to take them seriously. Hahahaha. I mean, why worry about pesky things like facts when you're on a tv show that doesn't require them? LOL
Laurie
LMAO...I don't watch it for the facts. I watch it for Giorgio's hair!
That and the one guy who always says "So you have to AHHHSK yourself....". It's good giggly fun.
I think my whole household walks around spouting off quotes from it at opportune moments. Besides...I blame EVERYTHING on aliens now. It comes in handy because.....Ancient Astronaut Theorists say YES!
I do have to admit...the memes of him make me giggle. Because....aliens. LOL

SEEEEE?
When I was in 8th grade I received a bunch of books for Christmas about Greek, Roman, Mayan, Inca, Polynesian and other mythologies. I found it interesting, not for the mythology stories, which were often horrifying, but for the art work they found on those ancient sites. Some were good, some bad, but they were unique in artistic styling for sure. Of course I remember next to none of it.
I've seen models all the way back to V3 in use over the years.
