...ahh what would Monday in Portland be without more MAX Light Rail Service Alerts?

i just noticed that the red line runs between downtown Portland and the big international airport. I must be getting old because I haven't noticed the red line before. loll

I saw the notice that shuttle buses are running between Northeast 7th and the Gateway Transit Center.
...actually Portland's airport isn't all that "big" (about the same size as the underused Milwaukee WI airport). The only overseas flights we have are to Tokyo and Amsterdam (both on Delta - ugh). Save for those two flights, the only other widebody jet service out of here is for freight (Fed Ex/UPS).

Seattle's SeaTac (140 miles to the north) is the major international airport in the region.

When I go to Europe, I'm taking the train to Seattle and flying British Airways nonstop from there to London (747). The US carriers just cannot match the level of service quality the foreign airlines offer and the fare isn't really any higher than having to connect in some awful hub like O'Hare, Dallas, or Atlanta (especially after paying luggage and other fees to on the flight to the hub airport).

    G2M is finally released!

...and he comes with a texture set that includes SSS settings, poses, surfin' clothes and a board too. Cool.

Can't see it, is there a link?
...It should be in your DIM Downloads and your Content Library (I had to DL from teh COntent Library as the only update I had with teh DIM was for G2F).

complaint: the computer spent one whole hour last night updating an online game. I couldn't really use the computer for anything else beacuse the patcher hogged the computer's CPU. The worst part is that the updated version of the game doesn't run properly. I think the new launcher is buggy. ugg. The situation is like Daz install manager hanging when I want to download and install Genesis 2 Male.

what does the install manager do that a manual download doesn't? sounds like an unnecessary headache to me. but then i miss the DOS days

Notifies you of updates, keeps track of files that are shared between multiple products and uninstalls them only when the last product using them is uninstalled, allows unattended downloading and installing (as long as you want everything to install to the same folder)..

do you mean like characters that use the sames eyes textures?

i've been meaning to sort out the the eye colors i like the best and freeing my texture folder of the rest, hair colors i never use.

...used to get one of those from my client every year about this time. They were good people.

Wouldn't mind working for them however it would mean having to relocate to the Philadelphia area. People grouse about crime rate where I live, heh, they should spend a few days in the "City of Brotherly Love".

Then there is Cape May for flying kites on the weekends and I can actually get there without having to own a car, unlike the Oregon Coast.

I just want to make sure I understand the whole DPI vs Pixels thing for printing.

I have a series of renders that I need to be 2.5 x 3.5 inches when printed at 300 DPI. So am I right in thinking that the absolute minimum render size would be 750 x 1050? (300 * 2.5) x (300 * 3.5). Or, since DS renders for digital output does it default to 72 DPI and I need to adjust my render size up to account for that?

Would I be better off rendering at a higher resolution, say 2x or 3x that base number, before taking it into PS for printing?

changing the dpi changes the inches it'll print out, but not the pixels.

750x1050 at 300dpi will print 2.5x3.5, at 72dpi 750x1050 will print out (at reduceed resolution) 10.417x14.583.

DA will reject anything under 150dpi for selling prints.

G2M out of the box with Micah hair and a silly expression.
Complaint: This has been a red letter...uh red number day for me as I splurged on Michael6 content and upgraded to Painter 13 (X3 is not 13, it's X3!).
    Brother/Sister can you spare a dime? :)

ETA: G2M is completely naked in that render (naked parts not shown).

The Michael 6 on the Store's sliding banner seems to have a broken index finger.
    I hope he's OK. ;-)

DS renders don't have a PPI value at all - depending on what you use to open them you may see nothing, 72 or 96PPI.
