I do want to say, that despite my complaints about the sale associated with Diego, I do appreciate the extra coupons that came out today, and I will definitely be using them, no matter what I decide with Diego.
It is, but when it's spread out like it is in this sale it can be hard to actually find enough content you want to use it all. That's my complaint about it. I think $100 is a great total, and I'd be all over it, with the exact same eligible products, IF all of the products were in one category that we could use the full $100 on.
What coupons?, I didn't get a single one and I have bought lots of stuff here lately, no pro or starterbundles for a while, but still...
You know, it wasn't all that long ago, Daz didn't offer any free products for buying the newly released Base Figures… I've gotten some excellent deals in the past—buying the female and getting a big additional discount on her counterpart; Teen Ryan pro bundle for under $6, (you read that right;) additional discounts for having bought X number of same generation pro bundles, and so on—but I really don't recall seeing massive amounts of free content just for buying a heavily discounted pro bundle until G8. I'll bet @MelanieL could look through her archived Daz emails, and even tell us exactly which G8 started the trend. (Of course, she could also find evidence of "buy this pro bundle and get [something] for free" from before G8, too. If there are any, and if she wants to work that hard. lol)
I, too, would prefer to see the $100 of related products be from a single category. However, between the two coupons for free stuff, and the five categories, I managed to find enough free things to keep me happy.
On the flip side, I made a significant dent in the Store Credit I had set aside for the upcoming, end-of-the-year sales events.
But it's new male release! How could I resist?

The coupons all start with, "To show our appreciation for your loyalty in buying Genesis 8 Pro Bundles". Offers like this are set up with "rules" in the store software, which searches the database looking for accounts that have met the criteria, and automatically generates the coupon(s) for those accounts.
No one but Daz knows what the criteria is, but it's a safe bet, those who got the coupons today have made a significant investment in G8 pro bundles over the past two+ years. (Several of those bundles in my account were purchased with deep discounts during sales like the PA Festival, which all the clues suggest will be starting this coming Monday.)
I've been doing this since late 2016, and when I first started you got 3 free pro bundles for buying the new pro bundle. Which was great when I was still building up my library, but I eventually hit the point that i have all of the pro bundles I want (and quite a few I don't care one way or the other). So this newer method of giving a bigger choice of products is a stellar idea I think, it's just frustrating the way they are broken up this way. In one category I can easily find $200 worth of stuff I'd like to get, other categories have nothing I'm interested in at all. The extra cuopons today were a very welcome addition, and i've already made use of them.

As this person noted, and one or two others, this is a thing.
It won't help you with new releases, but it gives you a little more wiggle room in picking the $20 categories, increasing them to $24 in each category. Of course, the buy in will more than offset that $20 extra split amongst the five categories most likely, but if you wanted the Ambassador items anyways, well it's a thought.
The Diego 8 coupon is almost worthless compared to previous similar coupons (10% off Diego Pro and only one associated 1 item) but every little bit helps. The other coupons (for those of us that received them) were nice to get. I've already used most of them, pondering what I want to get with the last two. I have until 8/25 to decide apparently.
Anyways, if you were thinking about maybe grabbing a few other older items from other sales, the 20% off after Ambassador Buy In might be worthwhile.
Also, along with others, I'm not a fan of the 'five categories' thing, but I'm still managing to find stuff. More flexibility would be preferable.
I have 12 pro 8 bundles (only one purchased during 2019), and got all 5 coupons.
Just a theory r.e. the coupons. Mike 8's anniversary is today, as I noted in another thread. Just wondering if anyone here that received coupons does NOT have the Michael 8 Pro bundle?
Probably not directly related, and there's probably some 'count function' that triggered the coupons not directly related to any particular pro 8 bundle, but if anyone DID get the coupons without Michael 8 pro in their inventory, well I'm just curious.
BTW, there were five coupons in my inbox this morning, which seems to track with the number everyone else has mentioned so far, except for that one guy that claimed he had fifty coupons...

FYI - My Diego coupon took the percentage off on all the Add-Ons in my cart in addition to the Pro bundle.
I received five coupons, but do not have the Michael 8 Pro Bundle. I do have Michael 8 separately (he was part of a PC+ for a day offer), but nothing else from the bundle.
I think that's how it is supposed to work. I mean... how else is it going to decide which one it takes the 10% off? What if I want it off another one? It's probably just bad wording.

Well, since you ask.....
Victoria 8 seems to have been the first to offer free bundles (in her case the V5/V6/V7 Pro Bundles) - before that I can only spot offers of x% off a shortlist of DO's with purchase. That marketing ploy (getting earlier Pro Bundles of the same name character) continued through 2017 - where there was no same-name older bundle there was generally a choice of any a certain number of bundles (not necessarily Pro Bundles) from a shortlist. Sometimes you got a larger number of freebie items depending on how many add-ons were bought, other times it was a fixed number.
The Girl 8 seems to be the first to offer $xx of free products, but this approach was intermittent through the 2018 releases (some reverted to the specific number of bundles, or even just a selection of items at a cheap price), but it seems to have become the norm in all the 2019 releases so far.
Just had to make this observation.

To be fair, the servers are working for me at the moment, just quite noticably slower than other recent download sessions of Daz products.. Felt the need to share!
Edit: 3 hours and a few dozen downloads later, finally done! It was a nice excuse to watch "Seven Days In May" again while I was cue-ing up and babysitting my manual downloads!
I have Victoria 8, Edie 8 and Vladimir 8 - not a single coupon, though. I'm not bothered, really, but it's illustrative of who's not getting coupons :-)
To be fair, you kind of have to go out of your way nowadays not to have Victoria 8.
...well, I do actually go out of my way ;-) The only one I bought with an intent to use was Edie. I have occasionally put others in my cart, though - the real character 8's and the awesome face-wrinkles are truly lust-worthy. Vladmir I got because there was a great deal and I cleaned up on a bunch of my wishlist items. Like I said, I'm not bothered by not getting. I buy many things, just not the 8's.
I can't say for sure what exactly the criteria for coupons are, but I can say for sure that I've gotten some kind of offer for pretty much every G8 figure since Alexandra. And I don't ever but female pro-bundles/figures, and i haven't even got all the male 8 bundles. So maybe not spending a bunch of money makes them want to tempt you with coupon offers?
Well darn! The list for the free starter bundle coupon changed since earlier today. I had Christian 8 Starter Bundle in my cart since he was on the list, then got sidetracked before I completed the checkout, and now he's not on the list anymore. The coupon won't apply to him now. :(
Same here with the Brute. Maybe they took them out to add to the bonus items when you buy Diego Pro?
I got Mei Lin 8 Starter earlier today, but I see she is gone now, too. Sometimes it pays to shop early and other times deals get better if you wait. You never know...

LOL. Then I would've set some kind of record for Daz Coupons, if that were the criteria. I think the largest amount I've spent at one time in the last several months is $20-25.
Or maybe it's that I haven't taken advantage of every offer I've gotten. It's because the offer didn't fit my budget, offer wasn't good on items I want, I waited too long, or I cleared the cart rather than deal with a sales glitch ticket. But it's never because I didn't appreciate them offering me a coupon/deal.
Yeah, the Kala and Sanjay Starters were in this morning, too. When I got home, they were gone. Kinda bummed I didn't jump on it when I could, but like they say, there's always another sale.

I didn't screencap the page, so I can't say who is gone now, but I got Kala 8 Starter Bundle shortly after Daz Midnight. And it took me a while to decide between Kala 8 and Ellithia 8.
I suspect the list originally included Starter Bundles for any base figure that was no longer "New", (released more than 60 days ago.) As the newest bundles in there now are from May'18, it looks like a filter was added to exclude anything newer than 15 month, (or maybe, 450 days.)
