If you're non PC+ member/ logged out it's 70% for PC+ items, not sure if they'll fix it
Do you have four items?
Note that it's already showing the 40% for one item on the product page, so with four items in the cart you should see prices that were half of those on the product page (you are paying 30% of the price after other discounts, the store page shows 60% of the price after any other discounts - that's halving the final price).
Just talking about PC+ items for members.
When I've four PC+ items in my cart and I'm not logged in (experimental non-PC+ member modus), they all show 70% off their non PC+ price, if I'm logged in (as a PC+ member) they all show 50% off their regular PC+ price.
I don't understand that.
Card Accessories is usually 12.95. if you take off the 30% for PC, (12.95*0.7) that's a $9.07 base price. take 70% off of that and you get (9.07*0.3) that's 2.72. I just added that item to my cart with 3 other items, and it's confirmed: (See attached image)
It costs 2.72. So that calculation is correct.
Now if I do the same calculation with F612 Sportscar, which is a PC item: Normal price is 12.95. Take off the 85% for PC (12.95*0.15=1.94) or the 1.99 regular price. Now, if you take off the 70% as we did with the DO item, that's 1.99*0.3= 0.59. The price should be 0.59, but it's $1
Same calculation for both items, but it's giving different results. Isn't that a bug?
There seems to be a glitch with the Botanical Space Lab, part of the Things Just Got Explosive sale. It's currently showing up as Free (100%) off, which I think is probably incorrect, and if you try to add it to your cart, it doesn't get added. If you click directly on the thumbnail, you just get an error page.
The product is not active anymore, we don’t know why.
Link you gave to it in the store is also dead now. Moved to another sale or did they have to pull it altogether like when a product is really, really broken?
I got it now = it's 70% off for non-PC+ members but it's only 50% for PC+ members. I wish they could have stated that clearly!
No, it's 70% for all - but the initial 40% is applied to the items in the store (you should be seeing them at about 58% off - 30% PC and 40% stacking sale).
Are you sure?, the 1.99 PC+ items are showing as 1.99 on the page, which is their normal price, not with 40% taken off, otherwise they would show as 1.19.
Confusion is only about PC+ priced items (for PC+ members) in this sale. They show their regular PC+ price for me (like $ 1.99 e.g.).
If a 70% discount is applied it should be around $ 0.60 instead of $ 0.99/ 1.00, at least in my opinion
I think the logic behind it is that they're 40% off the regular price... but since we are PC+ members, we're seeing the bigger PC+ discount instead of this 40%. Our PC+ discount, in this case, replaces the lower, 40% discount.
But shouldn't we get additional 30% only instead of additional 50% ?
Anyway, I'm off and wait for round two...
okay, so if the price is 1.99, they are raising it to a base price of around $3.33. They then take 40% off, returning it to a discounted price of R1.99. The 50%, 60% and 70% discounts will be roughly 1.67, 1.33 and 0.99 respectively? ie. 70% of 3.33, not 1.99. Man, that's complicated, but I understand. Thanks.
No, because ”an additional 30% off” when it’s already 40% off doesn’t mean you get 70% off initial price, it means you take 30% off what’s left after the 40% were taken.
To get 70% off overall means that you pay 30% of the initial price. 40% off means there are 60% remaining, so to pay 30% you need to remove half of that.
You shouldn't try to construct such explainations, the space-time continuum might explode
Was just responding to Ati's assumption, the 40% off is replaced with the PC+ discount for PC+ items
lmao. I think this is what happens when the same team that created Dforce is put in charge of promotions
Sorry to come into this debate so late, however, the adcopy states:
Nowhere does it say "get an additional X% off. As the advertisement is written, if you buy two, the discount should be a straight 50% off, not 40% plus an additional 10% off the already discounted price… And so on, all the way to if you buy four, the discount should be a straight 70% off, not 40% plus an additional 30% off the already discounted price.
And nowhere does it state PC+ products discounts will be different for PC+ members.
Edited to clarify: All products in the sale are either Daz Originals or PC+.
If you are not a member, you should see discounts in your cart of a straight, 40% for 1, 50% for 2, 60% for 3 or 70% for 4 or more, whether the item(s) are DO or PC+.
If you are a member, the discounts for Daz Originals will include the 30% member discount, so a total of 58% for 1, 65% for 2, 72% for 3, and 79% for 4 or more. As the PC+ items are not showing the initial 40% discount, you should be seeing an additional 40%, 50%, 60% or 70% off of the regular PC+ price for 1, 2, 3, or 4+ products in your cart, as the advertisement is written.
Different teams, actually.
From how it works, the discounts are probably not fixed percentages, rather additional percentages to some base percentage (be that the 40%, or the full PC+ discount), that's why we're not seeing the full 70% off on PC+ items. But this is all just a theory. :D
Not only is Daz math confusing, but also Daz time. Did the "8 Hour" sale begin at Daz midnight?
You know I adore you, @Ati. However…
I repeat, As the advertisement is written.
The sale should work exactly as the advertisement states it works. There should be no "probably" or "theory" involved. If people are debating what an ad actually means, there is something wrong with the ad, or something wrong with the implementation of the rules in the store software. That holds true for any ad, any company, any retail location, any website. At least in the US, and I'm sure in most other countries, as well.
The ad copy is technically correct but really confusing. They are pretending that all items are actually 40% off. Take a look at the following image. This is what the sale page is meant to look like. Notice how all the discounts are 40%, and notice how all the base prices have changed. (I've highlighted them in green) The only thing that hasn't changed is the final price.
Take the recalculated base prices that I inserted in there, and use that to calculate 50%,60% and 70% discount, then insert those items into your cart and you will see It adds up.
I do agree with you however, it is way too complicated.
Shifted to Round #2 but Round #1 is still there and active.
Note the banner says 2 Hours Only this time...
Silly Question: when it says Items Rotate Every Couple of Hours does that mean you have to purchase the items before they rotate or can you add them into your cart as the sales go and pay at the end of the day?
Hard to say. It sounds like the first round is still up at the same time as the second round, but I don't know if they'll eventually rotate that one out or keep it up throughout all the sales.
