How long is something considered new?

How long is a release considered new? There's a product that I really like and want but not at that price. Normally I don't baulk at prices, especially if it is something that I want but I do have limits on what I will pay depending on the item and quality.

So I was hoping the price will come down eventually or I can grab it on sale at a later date when it is not new.

The thing I'm disappointed with is that if I buy the "bundle" then it requires another product. Kinda defeats the purpose of the bundle to me.

I'm not going to mention the product. I'd never, ever want to hurt anyone's feelings or say something bad about a product. $30 I'd say yes, $60 uh no, not for something like this.

I like bundles rather than individual purchases. I mean, hair for instance. If there is a hair product, then colors product, then whatever product. Who's going to buy the colors without the hair?

*Sorry, rant mode off*

Anyway, how long is a product considered new? 60 days? 90 days?

I knew about the 60 days, but is there a way to tell the release date of a product?

If you look at the bottom of store or forum pages there are links, under the documentation link you find the product readmes, there you can find info for each product including the release date using the Product number #

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/start

I'll use my own Medieval Promenade as an example: It number is 17485, and was released on Oct. 30, 2013

Thanks for the response, but could you please explain that a little better.

I went to the store and picked an item at random (MF-Fairytales for Genesis 2 Female(s))
I then went to the documentation center and had to search for the item.
    I searched "MF-Fairytales", "MF-Fairytales for Genesis 2 Female", "MF-Fairytales for Genesis 2 Female(s)" and the product ID "17589"
Every time I get a page that says "No Results"

Could you please tell me the date that MF-Fairytales for Genesis 2 Female(s) was release and tell us how you found that?

    Thanks in advance

I know I must be doing something wrong as I also search for your product "Medieval Promenade" and again got a "No results"

You go to this page http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/start

Find the right group of numbers in this case 17000-17999 and then find the readme for the product

ok I get it now, you must entirely ignore the search on the page.
Don't believe me? Go to this page,,,
    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/17000_17999
and do some searches I seem to get "No Results" every time.

I searched for the product ID 17485 "No Results"
I searched for "MF-Fairytales for Genesis 2 Female(s)" which I can see is on that page half way down but I still get no results.

Stupid me for using the search box that is on the page! I get it now.

Thanks for the help, but it still seems like a lot of steps just to get some info. I tried it in google and got there a heck of a lot quicker. Just searched for "MF-Fairytales for Genesis 2 Female(s)" and went to the 2nd link. I should be able to get to the Daz pages by a search at Daz. The problem with doing it by Google is after trying a few items, generally the 4th or 5th link is to a warez site for the item. Daz should make sure their search actually works.

    Just my opinion

And this is where I finally, after thinking it to myself many, many times, suggest that the product number should be a link that goes directly to the documentation center.

Something I was never sure of — anyone know if the little green "NEW!" flash stays up for the full 60 days, or only for "a few" weeks?

It stays there for the whole 60 days
