Soooo, who here has done the whole "connect a card to your PayPal account" thing? Did anything catastrophic happen? It's so nice and simple to use PP, but now I need to "confirm" and attach a card, to prove that I'm me.

It's very secure, and if your bank account doesn't cover what you're buying, for some reason, the transaction won't abort.  I've had a CC connected to my PayPal account for well over a decade...no issues.

So this morning I have been Dazzing - Reading the Forums, checking up in the Galleries, and seeing what's new in the Store.

After that I'll probably start up Daz Studio and set up a render.

    Toodles!

We look forward to seeing it!    smiley

I just went to several stores...

Ladies and gentleman, the summer is over... we have officially skipped over “back to school” and gone straight to f- - - - -g Halloween... buy your Halloween decorations NOW or you’ll have none when the swimsuits and barbecue grills go on sale right before actual Halloween.

The summer stuff like fans and air conditioners are mostly gone or replaced by $&#@ scarecrows and plastic pumpkins... which are very important to have during a heatwave.

Anyone still wondering why retail stores are struggling?

What a stupid world we live on.

WUT? Where's all the Christmas stuff? surprise

I dunno much about shopping in the US (other than "stuff's cheaper"), but in most countries in Europe we have stores that only sell electrics, and will always have a stock of portable fans because it's a popular kind of item. You don't have that? It's all just Walmart and Target type stores, with everything in the same big room?

    complainnnt - senior citizen centers

why do they coup up all the old folksters in a room?  is just another way of herding us off the streets.

we should be outside cherishing our freedom from hospitals wanting to steal our freedom for our insurance dollars and life savings.

proposing a new type of park, walker parks!! smooth paths, ducks to feed. plenty of rest rooms.
food vendors with mushy food treats.   pay by the hour chess and checkers.  canopied spots to sit and rest on our walkers safe from the hot sun beating down.

My other half worked in a "senior care facility" but complained that it was always too cold.  Reasoning that it cost money to run the air-conditioning so hard in Florida, he asked the money grubbing owner of the facility why she kept it so cold, and was told quite seriously.  "Zay keep better in ze cold!"  (i.e. can't get $$$$ from a corpse)

DAZ ruined Amazon Prime Day for me!! How can I get excited by 35-40% off when I get 70-85% off here.

Amazon prime day was actually good for me.   I got the camera we had promised my Grandaughter for graduating with good grades at almost £100 less than my Son could get it locally, and I ordered myself a new monitor which was cheaper than a similar but older model one was on Black Friday.

So the only thing that is complaining is my bank account.

Depends on where you are. Here in eastern North Carolina that big ball of fire in the sky is too intense and the heat index is up to 107 degrees. I don't think you would really want to go out in that.

Complaint:  Here in westernmost NY State the big ball of fire in the sky isn't there.frown  Rain, rain, rain.  And just this morning when the weather was beautiful I made up my mind to go to the symphony at Chautauqua tonight.  So, I came home and after putting the groceries away, sat in my recliner, turned on the TV and had a nap, only to be woken by the clatter of rain on the roof and wind howling through the trees.  Bah, humbug! sad   I've now checked the weather websites and they all say that the rain will stop about 10:00 tonight, which is about 30 minutes after the symphony is over.  Great.frown  Music tonight was going to be Mendelssohn's "Midsummer Night's Dream" overture.  Beautiful, beautiful music one of my favorites.  But not attractive enough to slog a quarter mile through rain from the parking lot, through the Chautauqua campus to sit in a covered but open-air amphitheater, melting in the humidity after paying $45 for a ticket and $8 for parking.sad  Nope, not my idea of a fun night.  I'll listen to it on my machines at home.

Felix Mendelssohn: "A Midsummer Night's Dream" overture https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=614ew5HY8vM yes

Non-complaint:  I just saved at least $53 yes  Perhaps I'll spend it in a couple weeks when they play another of my favorites, Rachmaninoff's "Isle of the Dead" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbbtmskCRUYcool heart

Major Non-complaint:  Tomorrow is payday! Yay! smiley

What does “Mark Forums Viewed” do ?... I accidentally touched it now all the forums and threads no longer have orange numbers next to them... I hope it’s not permanent... or fatal...

If you don't care what anybody has said, you can hit that and reset everything.  Then going forward, any new changes will show up.  It's kind of like throwing your hands up in email and just punching the "reset" button without really deleting anything.

I of course, care very deeply about what you all have said...cheeky

I need a sugar daddy to shower me in Daz assets... but... I don't want to deal with that drama.

I don't want to BE that drama.  laugh

In retrospect, that animal probably went back to hole they dug and were like “What the hell!?!…. who filled in my hole?…. AAAAAAAAAH! WTF! Who left half a mouse in my hole!”

I picture some poor chipmunk in therapy for the rest of his life.

Chipmunks are very resilient.  I'm sure he's fine and not suffering from half-mouse trauma.

But you probably made things more difficult for the poor creature who was saving that mouse for a later snack.  He's probably wandering around going "Aaaaaaah!  WTF!  Where is my half-mouse?  I mean, really, who takes another employee's lunch from the fridge?  Sheesh!

And I totally forgot I was going to write this morning. I've not even opened plot factory or my docs. I'm a terrible person.

What is "Plot Factory" and how well is it working for you?

Probably as star fuel.  Or food.  I'm hoping for star fuel, because the tail-end of the food thing is being poo'd out and I don't want to be known for that.  "Yeah, he got poo'd out by those zombies.  What an embarrassment!"

Actually, I think zombies eat brains, not people.  Or feet, as someobdy mentioned earlier.

It's much easier just to look where you put it last time.

No no no, it's ALWAYS in the last place you look.  Always.  I mean, have you ever kept looking after you found it?

"Remember: The cat is always right." - A. Cat

The cat can be as right as he wants if he's outside eliminating the mouse and snake population in my garden.  Otherwise, he can be right someplace else.  And this is a good time for me to ask...have you adopted your TWO cats to make up for me not adoptilng this month?  I'd adopt four, but I don't have a barn.  Or rats.  Or snakes.  I think I may have a gator, but I wouldn't expect a cat to do anything about that except maybe have a heart attack or learn how to drive, carjack me, and gete far far away from the gator.

Minor complaint.  I do wish people would remember Daz or Daz 3d  is the name of the Company

Daz Studio or DS is the name of their flagship program.    THey do also own Bryce Carrara and Hexagon,  and they sell some 3rd party programs as well.

This public service announcement should be given periodically.  Thanks!

Also... Monday morning complaint: Trying to get my models in appropriate "inappropriate" poses is so much harder than doing it myself. I'm like "hey beautiful, just do this [hand gesture]" and they flail about into some pretzel shape. C'mon ladies! Be professionals!

I want motion capture, but nobody wants to see me posing or catwalking.  Note to self:  close the blinds and curtains!

I don't mind early celebrating of Halloween.  But putting out the stuff for Valentine's day before Thanksgiving has even arrived?  Retail has definitely jumped the shark.

My former next-door neighbor used to have 5 cats.  One of them was mine.  Long story, but it ended with him and his wife taking one of the brothers in a litter of four that I had found in my garden.  The other three went to "The Cat Lady" who was going to find them homes.  Anyway, my neigbor was in his house one day when FOUR of them came flying into the house and every one of them hid under a bed or in a cabinet or behind a toilet or some such place.  At least one of those had to swim across the pool to get away from whatever had them scared!

Anyway, according to him it was a whole bunch of thumping, bumping, skidding on the floor, and crashing into stuff.  So he goes outside to see what's up with "#5" and he sees his cat STARING DOWN an otter!  A damned otter, on the outside of the pool screen!  You'd say that cat had a set of brass ones, but kitty had some real trauma that day, well probably because a pool screen was all that separated them...and he probably thought that the tables had turned and that was one REALLY BIG rat!
