Will upgrading to Daz 4.11 delete all my installed content?

I was about to upgrade to Daz 4.11 this morning but I saw a message  during installation that sounded like it was saying something about all items installed with the previous version would get removed?

It was something like a previous installation of Daz Studio was detected. The previous version will be uninstalled. It will only uninstall stuff that was installed by the previous Daz 4 installer.

Plugins & or content installed by other installers will  not be affected.

I just want to make sure    My Library, My Daz 3D Library and all the Renders I have don't get deleted in the upgrade process.

Any ideas?

It will not touch any of your content or renders, just what is in the DAZ Studio installation package. Content can always be re-installed; if you are afraid for your personal work, you should be backing it up regularly anyway. You might have to install new versions of some plugins if they have been updated. For me, all other existing plugins still work properly.

You might have more problems with NVIDIA drivers and Windows updates, so be sure to save a copy of your previous version of the Studio installer and any dependent plugins. For Iray in 4.11, you need NVIDIA driver 418.81 as a minmum, or 430.86 if you have Windows May 2019 update (build 1903).

    It certainly shouldn't.

But making backups - including of previous Daz versions before instaling a new version is always a good idea

Installing an updated version of DAZ|Studio should never affect your installed content, your program settings, or your content database. You should, though, check any plugins you've bought from the DAZ store in addition to the ones that come in the program installer; you might need to re-download and re-install new versions.

    However...

Over the last few days a small number of people have reported what seems to be "missing content" which usually turns out to be a glitch in the content location settings, so that D|S (and DIM if you use it) is no longer looking at the folders where their content files are still safely installed. Needless to say, this is a "should never happen" situation, so it will probably get fixed ASAP. If you have any problems after updating, check your content settings in the Content Directory Manager dialog, to make sure they still match where your content files are actually installed.
