dForce Hair length manipulation

Hey,

if I remeber right it should be possible with the new dforce hair to control the hair length. I just bought Eddie hair:

Any tip how to make these hair longer?

You can adjust Scale or Reduce length.

Scale adjusts the overall shape bigger or smaller, reduce length essentially ‘cuts’ the hairs shorter.

sadly, there is no "scale length"... and the length parameters shown in the screenshot had no effect

    Hey Oso3D,

thank you that did the trick!

To bad that's the Hair Scale setting is a dForce (surface) setting. Otherwise we could do pysically animated hair growth clips.

But after surface settings are not affacted by the timeline... :(

However, any advice how to get the extended hair to fall down, in the simulation?

Under dforce surfaces, consider messing with stiffness and simulation strength. I don't know too much about this new dforce hair stuff, but in the cloth version of dforce those are two of the less troublesome controls that control the fall/drape.

I don't have that hair yet so I can't check, but with the dForce Mohawk that comes with the dForce Escentials I know that if you turn the "Local Shape Constraint Stiffness" way down to like .03 it will lay down with the simulation. I don't know if that's the "right way" to do it or not, as I haven't had much chance to work with the dForce hair yet, but it seemed to work when I experimented with it a little bit. :)

nope, Local Shape Constraint Stiffness didn't do the trick wink

Weird. It worked on the dForce mohawk. :( Sorry, I wish I could be of more help. I don't have any of the purchased dForce hair yet so perhaps they're different.

You should be able to see the full names in the property groups, sorry I can't check or take a screen shot just now.

You gave me the clue where to find it.  ;)
