How to change the "lighting" materials on props in the DUCC (Deep Underground Command Center) scene

How do i change the "lighting" which is basiclly a material preset under the shaping pane. I've been changing textures and materials out the kazoo on charracter presets and ones i shaped my self and texturized with texture presets for a while now and am getting good at it. But scenes are a whole different story entirely! I tried clicking on the parent for the respective props and the individual props and choosing the different "light" texture presets and it looks after i render as if i did absolutly NOTHING!!!!!

correction i just looked at my render and the emergency lights DID switch to emergency spot mode and I THINK the warehouse lights turned to low light and I know the display on the monitors have the image i selected including the bottom right two being turned off but the color of the "light" of those monitors has NOT changed as i want them to be orange preset which is what I TRIED to do! a little help would be great thanks. I'm gonna do another test render with the spots and warehouse lights off to see if that change will and has be taking. Also i read you can drop in your own images on the monitors but how the heck do I do THAT?!?! because i do a lot of hand drawnart that i scan and edit on my computer as well as some pretty nifty blueprints i did on autocad that i'm able to save in regular image file format. help with that would be swell.

the picture below is my test render with the monitors unchanged. I'm gonna post another one after i turn off all the lights except the monitors

Granted, this is a complex scene, but it is well-organized. For the monitors, select a monitor in the scene tab or the viewport (easier in the viewport), then use one of the material settings to change the picture shown (they all start as cyan), then use one of the colour presets if you want. (You can select more than one at a time).

For the warehouse lights, just select the ones you want to change and apply the level you want. Selecting the group will not allow the materials to apply, each individual light must be selected. If you want to do them all, then it's easier to select them in the scene tab.

The emergency lights are a bit more complicated. There's the top and bottom lights which are controlled by the Emergency Lights Emergency/Not Emergency, which works when the main emergency light figure is selected. The spotlights are two separate figures attached to the main housing, individually controlled by the Emergency Spots ON/OFF, and you have to expand the hierarchy under Emergency lights to get down to them. You can select more than one to apply the setting. (Those should have been done with hierachical material presets to avoid having to do each one individually, and they would be mutually exclusive).

You can see the effects faster if you use the Iray preview mode, since you don't have to make a new render each time you change a light.
