I was just looking at Carrara 8.5 Pro. According to the listing page it is "normally" $285 but is currently on sale at $65 - a saving of 78%, yay... but...
This product has not been $285 during the past year. Indeed, the current price of $65 is the highest price during the past year! A year ago it was just £45, and on the 3 July 2018 it fell to $9.10.
It seems a bit, well, disingenious to have a listing that is implying that the $65 is a massive reduction when it is actually the highest price for at least a year.
At least I know now not to buy it, as presumably it will be $9 or less again one day. There is a very big difference between $9 and $65.

Well I paid $59 for C8.1 and $171 for the 8.5 upgrade
was a very long time ago though .....
I have Carrara 7 Pro (got it free on a magazine yonks ago), and used to rather like it. Thought I might get the latest version and play again.
I used to particularly like creating landscapes.
Me too, my $59 was an upgrade
I screenshot myself with the magazine and provided the serial number to DAZ at the time
Thank goodness for Daz Deals that give us the price history.
It will be — I bought it a few years back during (I think) a big software sale, for $20-something. I've seen similar sale offers, and similar prices, several times since then. Just wait (if you're not in a hurry to buy it), it'll come round again.
Yeah, I'm holding out for sub $20. May not happen till the year end sale, but I can hope.
wow, Carrara is cheap at three times the price they are asking, I'm amazed how they let such wonderful software out for such a low price
