Rigid follow nodes don't "make the simulation wonky". It's just a way to have the buttons follow the shirt and stay attached to the shirt during simulation without getting deformed. It looks like just the top button is misplaced. I wouldn't necessarily call that "a really serious mistake to make". It's a mistake, of course, and putting in a support ticket about it is probably a good way to go and hopefully, they can they can contact the PA to get it fixed.
In the meantime, simply moving the top button over to the other side would be easy to do. As you can see from thd777's render, one just would need to slide the top button over to the other side. Which, as they said, took 5 seconds.
Moving the buttons won't hurt the simulation at all- the buttons are attached to rigid nodes- basically, they're kind of smart parented o a single vertex on teh clothing and will just follow that tiny bit of cloth wherever i goes. Expand the shirt in your scene tab and you can see all the rigid nodes and where they are parented to. you can move it very simply. And hey, resave it so you don' thave to redo it. It takes a couple seconds, it's really not a big deal, the outfit is fab and has a lot of add on things and is perfect for a grandpa older guy vibe.
And serioiusly, if you haven't started learning dforce you should, it is super fun and i have dragged out everything back to v4 to simulate and wear with new g8 characters. It's a blast.
At any rate, i think the stuff for Mr. Woo is amazing- I live in Asia as many of you know and seeing some awesome content like Mr. Woo and Mrs. Chow has really been super cool.... I grabbed the Mrs. Chow set when it came out. Sadly have to wait on Mr. Woo, having used the monthly allotment on Mrs. Chow (I keep wanting to say Mrs. Chen by accident, because she looks like a lady in my last apartment called Mrs. Chen... wore the loudest floral plaids as proudly as any lady could!!!) but I definitely will get Woo sets when I can. Daz is just doing a fantastic job with the g8 generation for more diversity and uniqueness and detail and I love it. <3
Also if anyone missed it, Woo DOES come with his own fiberhair brows and beard hair, like several other of the male G8 figures. Thought I'd mention it because i often overlooked it in the beginning. Bridget's glasses too.
It wouldn't just be the top button though, if the shirt is open, and the promos show it open to at least the second button. Is the shirt attached below that point? If so two buttons is less trouble knowing it can be fixed by the end user.
That's swell and all, but that's still 5 minutes that shouldn't need to be spent in the first place. Its not excusable. Which ironically the mistake was spotted within minutes here...so why wasn't it spotted by QA?
All the explosions I had gave me Dforce PTSD. <.<
I don't see any renders with it open, nor do I see any morphs for the shirt listed on it's page that suggests that it opens. All I see in the renders (both on the main product page as well as the texture add-on page) is the top button open. I'd put in a support ticket about it, but (in the meantime) just moving the top button over to the other side would take only seconds.
I have no idea where I’ll actually use him but I really him!
Horefully if someone put in a ticket the button could be moved... And affixed in the proper place. Doesn't seem that difficult for them to fix.
I'm just a little bit surprized, with all the talk about the top button being on the wrong side, that no one has commented on the fact the placket is on the female side. The top button is actually correct, it's the placket that's wrong. (I even checked one of my blouses and one of my husband's shirts.) The placket with the buttonholes, on mens shirts, is on the left front side of the shirt. The buttons would be sewed onto the right front side of the shirt.

I would hope that DAZ would provide some sort of clothing guideline that covers button placement. I recall there was an issue with the lumberjack outfit too.
I almost brought that up, and yes people just about rioted over the lumberjack shirt, but my complaint is clearly unreasonable as fixing the vendor's mistake only takes a few seconds. No point to bring up others. If you're going to dforce it anyway, should be able to just mirror it.
The second button is lined up correctly for a closed button though, so that is good. It looked off center in several promos, but it hasn't done that in any of my simulations yet.
On this issue, the shirt is weight mapped in a way that moving the button won't be an issue as long as it is positioned over the placket. Removing the weight mapping will cause issues, but no need to do that. If you did want the shirt open it would probably be easiest to just hide the buttons and make sure they wouldn't be visible anyway. Or manually place them after. But in either case, that is beyond using it as intended, so some manual work is expected.
It was reported previously in this thread that the buttons are attached by Rigid Follow Nodes. (Yay!) That makes each button it's own object and a simple matter to move if necessary, following a simulation.
Apparently it's a problem that crops up from time-to-time. I think the majority of men's contemporary shirts are pullovers, but most of the contemporary shirts that do button have the plackets correct.
First render of Mr Woo
Mr Woo at 50-60%.
Gosh, scorpio, that is fantastic. So full of character. Love it.
Thank you.
@scorpio : this is an awesome way to use Mr. Woo and mix in other morphs! looks like a totally different character, kudos! ^^
posted this as a reply to a problem on the dforce showdown outfitin the March Madness 2019 thread -
same here could not find it in smart content so looked in content library so tried updating metadata, install and show product in smart in the left click options but still couldn't see it in smart content. So I tried unchecking filter by context AND I found it so it's not linked to show up under g8m content - just noticed there is a install update icon on it - ok done the install update 3 times and nothing still can only see it by unchecking the filter by context box, can use it though - oh and I install via dim
I have had issues with installing things for the last week or so, including Mr Woo.
I install using the Daz Install Manager, and all seems well.
But the item is only in the Content Manager, not the Smart Manager and I have to double click it to get it to install.
It works fine for some things, but not others, there seems no logic to which. Mabel installed, her HD add on and curlers didn't. Mr Woo's clothing installed perfectly, but he himself didn't.
Very nice character and add-ons.
Men in the trenchcoats
been the best March madness sale i can remember in a long time.
and Karate Girl finely has a mom and dad
I’ve had many items (for G8 & 3 and IRay shaders, so not old) that refuse to download through DIM for over a year after multiple uninstalls and reinstalls.
In all the time since DIM was introduced I've never had a problem with anything that I can remember.
The deForce Showdown Outfit for Genesis 8 male, from the Mr Woo bundle, seems to have wrong metadata. It shows in Smart Content when a Genesis 8 female is selected but not when a Genesis 8 male is.
(it looks rather nice on Mei Lin though, with a bit of tweaking)
The add-on texture set for the dForce BlackGuard Outfit (installed via DIM) throws missing file errors and doesn't apply, either.
I like this caracter Thanks to share Just a question : 50-60% of what??
Anyone having trouble with the fit of the sweater vest outfit? The shoulders of the shirt, and pants seem to poof out.... it looks like this set required simulation to fit properly... I like dforce but want the option not to have to use it...
I don't see a problem with this outfit (if it's the one you mean). Here it is on G8M base, loaded as it comes on the left figure, and with textures modified on the right to show how close it fits.
(Installed with DIM, and rendered in DS 4.10)
I agree - with so many PA stores on sale I was able to knock out quite a bit from my wish list. And many of the new items have been great too. :) All in all I think the sale was quite enjoyable and I got a lot of great content over the past month.
With all the $1.99 items, the super deep discounts on the "Bonus Buyer" items, the fun freebie dFlatable Donkey, the fantastic Dragon Lady bundle, Mrs. Chow and Mr. Woo, and most of the PAs stores being on sale (so the opportunity to purchase products at a discount that rarely go on sale) - all in all the March Madness sale was great, imo! :)
Nice render, btw. I'm glad that Karate Girl finally has a mom and dad. :)
Thank you.
It seems when I say I spun a few dials I may have been under stating; here are the dials I spun
