yep, tjhat looks like it. I was thinking it was the other fiberhair beard product. Thanks for the link.
This figure... Is the only one I'm somewhat disappointed by. The skin looks more female than male, and I don't get an asian vibe from this character.
Actually, I see guys who look like that all the time in Tokyo, and he's got a pretty strong resemblence to a famous Japanese character actor, Hideo Amamoto, who's probably best known in the west for playing the "other" Doctor Who in the movie King Kong Escapes.
I don't see a resemblence.
I do see it, but you would need to give him darker eyes.
I actually like the character, I think he has an interesting facial structure.
I think if it had different eyebrows (darker, more slanted), the resemblance might be more marked. Eyebrows are everything. :-)
It's not a cap... I thought it was at first when I saw the main ad image, but when I saw the uncropped version in the product promo pictures, I realized it's a headband with some really fuzzy hair.
In addition to brows, etc., I think Hideyo Amamoto's cheek "apples" are also much more pronounced. Of course, comparing the character to a known figure might be a moot point if they didn't base it off him.
Add me to the "what the heck is going on" with the buttons on the vacation suit. And while it's not part of the bundle, the karategi is such a disappointment. So much about their function revolves around the rigidity of the material.
I'm so excited for everything in this bundle! There's nothing I can't use for the project I'm doing, the timing of this is perfect. And I picked up the cyborg bundle for free, which I just bought cyborg 8 and Tengu earlier this week, so the timing of this was perfect as well!
Isn't that a judo gi that has the heavier, stiffer fabric?
well, that solve it then.
Judogis are about 1 kg, while the heaviest karategis weigh in at about half that. That being said, those suits will still have a level of rigidity and "stand up" against the body. Only inferioir karategi's made with lightweight material will stick to a practioner's skin because of perspiration and are uncomfortable. Part of choosing one with a heavier fabric is for the additional rigidity, the way it better wicks away perspiration. More rigid suits also produce a more noticable "snap" when moves are executed.
Even a 12 oz suit would be "rigid".
Upvoting your comment Phoenix1966, hard time finding a good karategi for daz figures
you probably need to define different material zones which react in a different level to dforce
Well Mr Woo & Mrs Chow have been awsome treats regretably I have other DAZ shopping priorities but those being taken care of soon I will be glad to buy Floyd, Mabel, Mrs Chow & Mr Woo when they become discounted again, although I likely won't get them at this great a price!
I hope this means some characters similar in age to Redd Foxx and LaWanda Page in old age are in the works. For the clothing what they come with that's a tough one. Clothing like they wore on Sanford and Son are a given and pretty authentic too but clothing like what was worn by me parents and other poor people in the mountains and in south and elsewhere would be welcome. Depression era clothing - both in good shape and with tattered and mended morphs and textures sets to look really good. It'd be nice to see fits like this clothing fit those very skinny people - pants so big they really would be belted up with a belt or rope that wrapped around a fellow's waist two or three times. Woman and gals clothed in dresses make of flour sacks. It's not really the same clothing as what was in that recent trailer park bundle - that type of clothing is modern luxury lifestyle type of clothing comparitively speaking. There must be lots of modern clothing styles that haven't seen the DAZ 3D store yet either. Wooden houses we'd think were sheds nowadays. Actually having a plow and using it that a mule or horse would pull. Lots of interesting stuff.

so... i checked the whole thread, the promos, and all hair items in the shop for G2-3-8M... and i couldn't find the hair used in the main promo for Mr.Gui (like half bald with side hair).
not sure if i missed it or what, but as anyone an idea what hair that is?

It's one of the options of Vintage Male Hair for G3&8 hair.
Looks like this one https://www.daz3d.com/vintage-male-hair-for-genesis-3-and-8-males
thank you! ^^ - of course i couldn't see it since it's not shown on the main thumbnail promo :)
You're welcome. It's a bit of a hidden gem, in my opinion.
Mr. Woo "Out of the Box" but with his Translucency Medium setting. I love this facial hair he comes with! The whiskers look great, imo! :)
Now that Diva has done her "out of the box" render and Jason has done his side by side comparison many of us can finally decide if we want to buy or not. :)

Is this with the HD morph?
Also, can we get an official word about the vacation outfit from Daz? This seriously needs to be fixed. How did this get through?
No, that's just the base Mr. Woo.
I don't have the outfit, so I can't check. However, a lot of the recent dForce clothing have the buttons that aren't part of the mesh and can be moved. If this shirt is the same (and judging by the clay render - see how the buttons aren't clay - it looks like it might be set up that way as well) then it would be easy to move the top button over to the correct side. I can't guarantee that the shirt's buttons are set up that way, but it does look like that might be the case judging by the promos.
1st - Mr Woo ... wow.. he looks very good. If I may, his chest appears to be a bit chalky or something? might be my monitor....
The shirt ... is it possible to open it? That would take care of that button deal ...
Yes, the buttons are indeed separate and attached to ridgid follow nodes. They can easily be moved and will still follow the drape if you simply move the node. Here is the shirt with the top button moved to the other side. Took 5 seconds to do it.
Ciao

If you can move the buttons around that far, wouldn't that make the simulation wonky? How does that work if the buttons are not part of the simulation? I don't use a lot of dforce stuff, so I am not familiar with that.
Regardless, this is a really serious mistake to make. Having to relocate the buttons every time could take a bit of time. And we are assuming we can move the buttons, but if we can't...yikes.
