why is an item showing FREE in my wishlist?

I have an item that is listed as FREE,b ut when i put it in the cart it shows a 1 ... but wehen i go to checkout it says nothing is there. 
If I click on the product it returns a 404 page...

    My understanding is that when this happens, it's a form of what I would call the "null/zero bug"; where a computer determines a lack of answer as an answer of zero. (The most famous example is "Null Island", a point off the west coast of Africa where photos that haven't been tagged with GPS data often get assigned to a latitude and longditude of zero).

    In this case, for whatever reason (which is sometimes, but not always, that the item has been removed - I've seen it happen with Daz Pro bundles, which have definitely been back around afterwards), the database look-up cannot return a valid look-up. The storefront interprets the lack of price data as "Free", but the cart determines the lack of answer as "cannot add item", and attempting to view product details will fail.
