I don't need anything

I'm trying to be better about spending money, and I really think that I don't need anything from the Daz store any more because I have so many things already. Really, I could make a ton of renders with what I already have. I'm also getting better at creating my own things, well, slowly but surely.
And then, just about every day, DAZ and the vendors just keep pulling me back in, getting me to think, "Oh, I really need that! Oh that would really improve my workflow." Why does this happen to me almost every day, lol? Anyway, good job DAZ and PAs!

I know exactly what you mean! Spent hundreds yesterday on the blink sales (Polish, IH Kang and Linday) only to go nautical today and pick up a bunch of stuff from Faveral and PW Productions. Really high quality models and great deals, too.
Didn’t buy the gift cards to keep them around and admire them, you know?

Ditto for me. I find with gift cards that the sales pour down right after, and in two days or so my hundreds of dollars of credit are reduced to the low tens.
I wanted so many things, I ended up procrastinating and getting nothing, because the sales all ended. My actual wishlist has 9 'gotta haves', and hundreds of 'oooh, pretty!'... and I still manage to pick up more stuff (usually not on my wishlist at all!) that I don't _need_, but know I will eventually use. Probably.
I liked the blink sales, but without knowing what the _next_ was going to be (and whether it would actually have things on my wishlist so I could feel good about it), and having only the one new release that I was willing to spend money on... I hesitated, until all was lost. Meh. How many hairs do I really have to have, anyway? Okay, the little voice inside cries, 'more!', but it hasn't had breakfast yet.
Actually, I don't need anything female. I already have all the female stuff I can choke down. So, for me it's not going to be another thing that isn't a utility, environment/set OR something for a male. It's an expensive hobby and it's about time I put my foot down... Was all happy when I saw the teeth, put them in my cart and realized they were female only. Emptied cart and so mad, don't think I'll buy anything else today. Something that simple and couldn't even make them for both sexes.
I don't think I'm the only one either.

I'm with Laurie. I'm looking for male things for my boys. There's a glut of girl things, but not nearly enough for the men. My poor guys are deprived.
I always love having things for the guys, even though most of my renders are women. That said, if there's a women-only morph/expression product that I really want for my men, I transfer from G8F to G3F, GenX from G3F to G3M, then G3M to G8M. Sometimes it involves saving as .obj files and then importing via Morph Loader Pro. Did that with the biometric expressions for G3F so that my G3M, G8F, G8M all have them (it's not a perfect transfer, and it was tedious, but still doable).
I just got those teeth for $2.49 though so OK if just for the girls
I have it in my cart but I'm holding off on hitting the buy button to see if there are flash sales later today...
Logically, I shouldn't need anything else given that I have over 13,600 products from DA alone... And especially since I've bought hundredsof shaders and all of Sickleyield/Riversoft's fit convertors and should be able to use a huge portion of 5 generations of clothing (6 if I just want to use auto-fit). The problem, at this point, is two-fold - first, it's hard to remember exactly what I have anymore... I really need a good cataloging system for all of this stuff but I've yet to find a single product that can handle at least my DAZ, Render and Poserworld catalogs. Second, well... I'm getting lazy. I used to spend a lot of time custom dial spinning all my characters and kit bashing my sets so that they were completely unique, but I found that I'd rather render than prep, and it's easier to start with a character/set that close to what I want rather than starting with a base figure or a bare set of walls, so I keep picking stuff up when ever it's on sale... It's an additiction...
I ended up cataloguing/organizing into my own categories just about everything in the last year or so, tackling different types of products at a time. The Poser library was a nightmare, though, esp. since materials may not be in the same place as the rest of the product.
Finished female items/characters by skin tone, props/environments, lighting, shaders, etc. All I have left are men's things, plus whatever I convert from the RSSY converters and new things I buy as I go along. Still, my system isn't perfect, because, for example, I categorized by type of outfit, but not the individual articles, and I kitbash a lot. Also, I organized by pose sets and not individual poses. So, it's great for, say, wanting sword poses, but not necessarily sitting poses if the sitting poses aren't part of an entire set of sitting poses. But, it has still made my life easier organizing things in a way that's useful to me. Plus, it's something I can kind of do while also watching tv casually, or something to do while taking a break in between projects.
Yea, me too. It's about time Jepe got back into the furry game. Next he will release fiber body hair, well at least we can hope! LOL
Given that they're cheaper than a PC+ product after the discount, and given the track record of that PA, I imagine that the gender split was made so the PA could make at least a little money... In all likelihood there's a male version waiting in the wings.
It's a morph. That's not a trivial thing to just 'do for both;' you basically have to either recreate the design a second time, or go through some very elaborate transfers to move it from female to male.
If it were me, you'd bet I'd sell male teeth as a second product, assuming I thought there was any market for it.
...still need a new cat, with fur and different breed morphs (including Manx and Maine Coon), that's all really.
I didn't meant they could have made for both in the same pkg....lol. And I was never moaning about the price. It's cheap as all hell, but it's only for the females, who I render VERY rarely these days. Don't need them and chaps my behind that there isn't at least a matching pkg for the males. If there was BOTH, I'd buy them BOTH but since there's only the one for females I'll buy, well, none ;).
Laurie
the PA will miss out on a whole $1.25 after DAZ takes their 50% what a protest
I would like the Pedro Furtado Arts '20 Unique Smiles for G8F/G8M and the Genesis 8 Skin Builder because they are so nicely done. Otherwise only the remaining 3DU toon animals I haven't bought yet. I'll have to wait & see if Genesis 9 inspires me to buy any more. Oh, & I want the 'Dolby' character I haven't bought yet.
Here's the thing: I would pay the artist's asking price (NO discount) if it were for males too. And that is a protest. I can only protest with my wallet, so what other choice is there? And besides, the artist isn't missing out on anything - Daz is - they've bought it outright from the artist otherwise it wouldn't be a DO.
Laurie
well that makes it even sadder .....
Well, I'm glad I could amuse you today then ;)

And finally, after years of waiting, a product for teeth that's intended to make them look better (depending on your preferences), not worse...
I hope it came with morphs for opening and closing the doors.
Few years ago as a newbie, understand exactly what your sharing. Hmm, don't know how to share my thoughts on the matter. I truly don't mind purchasing products I use daily, often. Many pa's create outstanding products, I have my favorites. Daz customer service is outstanding as well, with returns.
I learned my lesson, long story short, computer upgrade is my priority. Regardless of products, scenes, etc... My computer system couldn't keep up. Specially with advance 3D technology. So now I concentrate on computer upgrades more then product purchase.
Secondly, what discourage me from purchase is, base figue fashions, after I was satisfied with my V4 library, G2 comes out, G3 comes out, G8 comes out, on and on. I haven't touched any V4 content at all, matter of fact, V4, G2 are no longer in my content library. My favorite place to shop is places and things, cause I can use props for all figures.
So, I don't mind purchasing products, but like Xbox one, products should be forward/backward compatible. So, person doesn't have to purchase fangs for Genesis, for G2, G3, G8, V4, V5 on and on. Kimono for G2, G3, G8., Now alot of pa's do make products for G3 and G8,. Which is wonderful.
Products should be universal, example HD cello and poses for Genesis 8 but........ also includes
Wearables:
not dissing your right to protest just laughing at the size
I refused to pay $66 for Lee 8 pro with no addon discounts when newly released so understand the concept
got him much cheaper later
It's just one of those straw and camel things. For some reason, the teeth (which I was really glad to see, at any price) just ticked something off in me. I've pretty much picked this and the other place clean of decent men's wear and accessories and there just isn't much. It's pitiful really. I end up thinking "Why bother making males at all then?".
Laurie
Umm... because they're fun? And hot! And, in the mass of cheesecake, more likely to be unique...
...but, cheesecakes are very delicious.
Yes, yes, YES! I just adopted a Maine Coon mix from a shelter and would LOVE a cat with that morph! Also a Bengal. That’s the one thing I really need and want now is a really good cat & kitten model (better than Hivewire’s) with multiple morphs, breeds and furs. The dog only has limited breeds too. Cats and new dog breeds are really the only things I need at this point... And Linday’s hair model that I missed in the blink sale. Grrrr...
