Millennium Woman Victoria was released in February 1999 almost 20 years ago.
A hundred core figures later, what are your 5 favorite DAZ characters ?

I ran out of favorites but I also like the Guy 7 Pro Bundle style and also the Girl 7 Pro Bundle, and the Girl 8 Pro Bundle. Doesn't look like there will be a Guy 8 Pro Bundle so the Toon Dwayne 8 Pro Bundle will have to do, it wasn't bad but sparse in comparison with all the goodies that were released in conjuction in the Girl 8 Pro Bundle.

Genesis 8 female for me. I can't list a solo character, Daz or otherwise since I never use them as is, always using parts of their morphs or skins to develop my own instead since the V4 days.
As for most used for me, I would say the Bianca face morph from Liquid Rust for V4 has been used often (usually mixed with other morphs) in each generation from V4 all the way to GF8 https://www.daz3d.com/lr-s-bianca-for-v4
Most used skin would be this one from Anain https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/mother-and-daughters-for-g3f/115836 I have custom versions of it that I have used on many GF3 and GF8 females since it was released and still do. FWSA Frida HD for GF3 comes in second

My top 5 Favorite Cores; Olympia 8, Darius 8, Stephanie 5, Girl 4, Gianni 6.
Top five, as in, most used core bases for dial spinning because I like their shape.
Mill Woman Victoria might have been the first but things didn’t take off until when Paparazzi caught CGI model Victoria Forth dismounting from the official DAZ Limo few couldn’t have known what a historic moment that would be.
Time would fix her place in making DAZ3d one of the greats in entry level CGI productions. Landing her in blockbuster roles she seems content that she became the go-to gal for the “little peoples art”. Assuring of her place in history as one of the genuinely great role playing models, her legendary chameleon-esque abilities made her hot property indeed. In truth Vicky, while not creating the App that spawned her, seeded the desire for so many to become fans of not only her but all of the follow on characters. She, almost single-handedly created the market.
Its kind of like the sailboat race where the winner was so convincing when the King asked of the judges who came in second the answer was, “Sire there was no second”.
Hmmmmm, Gianni 6, Konstantin for Ivan 7, Ryker HD for Vladimir 8, The Brute 8, & Michael 7 (you never forget your first), but I have to agree with FSMCDesigns as I never use them off the shelf and I create my own morphs. I would feel completely betrayed if the character I was using was also playing golf on the moon or drinking Ouzo with Olympia 7 in another artist's work (just kidding).

I know she gets a lot of hate in the forums, but I just love using Eva 7. ;) I enjoy Latonya 8. But my other go-to’s aren’t base models, but some that morph on the base, like Cassandra, Luna, and Aran.
I'm surprised at how much I love Zelara. She's quickly become my favourite. Also really love Minami.
Previous favourites were Olympia 7 & Lilith 7, and also Priya by Saiyaness.

I don't have favourites; I like pretty much all the textures from 4-8 official figures - that I own, and I seem to own an aweful lot. I don't buy shape, other than I consider if I have one like it - but generally with shapes; they aren't important. Pro Bundles are about the Bundle, and I don't own any Starter. I've bought the Pro Bundle - not particularly liking the main character, and have particularly liked the main character and not bought the bundle.
These are worthy of a specially mention as I like the textures in particular: Stephanie, no particular generation - 4-8 all have their virtues; Penny 8; Eva 7 and 8; Giselle 6; Olympia 7 and 8 (but especially 7); Bethany 7; Josie 7; Lilith 7; Aiko 8, 7 and 4 allows for some interesting tweaking; Belle 6.
... And Ollie 8 has great textures and is pretty much the only exception to the 'not important shapes statement'.
Hmm. A lot of apple/orange comparisons here as everyone seems to be interpreting the question differently. Only DAZ products allowed? A shame as Terai Yuki would have easily been in contention, as well as Blackhearted's Irina for SP3 and some of P3D's V4 characters from Rendo.
As far as base figures go, looking at how often I use them, it works out to G3F at number one, followed by G8F, G2M, Genesis, G2F
If we're talking about DAZ's core figures as seperate entities, then it's Belle 6, Rune 7, Star 7, Ivan 7, and either Teen Kaylee or Karen 7.
For individual characters and going by purely aesthetics in no particular order.... Smay's Stalker GIrl, George for G3M, Cailin for V7, Brooklyn HD for V7 and a tie between bluejaunte's Murphy and Misumi.

I've only been using Daz3D for a couple of years, and I have more than 5 favorites. In keeping with the spirit and intent, here are 5 of my personal favorite characters: Mr. Hyde, Infernal Behemoth, Victoria 5, Dragelle, and The Reject. As far as who has some of my favorite type of figures and backdrops, they're in this order: Rawart, Josh Crockett, Daz Originals, Stonemason, and Herschel Hoffmeyer.

Aiko 3, 4, 6, Hiro 4, and Eva 8, if I had to choose just five. I did a *lot* of work witht the Aikos and Hiro in the early days (after discovering Poser). Not going to give you favorite non-cores, if only because I'm in the process of making several right now, and that's eating up a lot of my time.

Genesis is my favorite generation base, because of their versatility .
Non-DAZ are Koji 1.0, P6 James, G2 Kelvin, the Poser 3 Male (he was versatile, and the first character with whom I worked), and Apollo Maximus (seeing what people did with him was my first hint of how versatile Poser guys could be).
I still use some of the older characters, as nothing has come out to take their place. They still render great in PBR, and it seemed like content producers were more daring back then (for the most part, not totally).
I'm going to say Genesis, Genesis 2 Female, Genesis 2 Male, Vic 4, mainly because of the T pose, I hate the A poses.
To me the figure is the base all morphs that go on top of them are shapes not figures IMHO

I've only been doing this for about 2 1/2 years but I've collected a lot of figures from V4, G1, G2, G3, and G8. I have 749 figures that show up in Smart Content and probably at least that many more that don't show up in Smart Content due to their age, being purchased from other sites, and figures that other PAs have given me or "product traded" with me. So narrowing them down to my favorite 5 is difficult, to be sure.
I THINK though that I can give a tentative "top 5":

His promos do not do him justice, imo - he really shines in Iray, particularly with some skin settings adjustments.

Sadly she's V4, which has limitations due to age, but thankfully I was able to figure out how to transfer her shape to Genesis 8

Elijah 7
He's just a stunning character, imo. He's one of the very very few characters I've purchased who's skin looks so good "out of the box" that I don't really have a desire to tweak the settings. His eye settings need a little adjustment, imo, but I really like his skin "out of the box" - which is rare for me. lol Plus his shape/morph is just ...RAWR! <3 I've always been a sucker for skinny guys. :P

I've been a fan of this character since the day she launched and have always enjoyed her highly detailed morph and textures. She's beautiful and just a fantastic character, imo. Here she is with some slight skin settings adjustments:
