I love the feeling of coming to the shop and seeing nothing I *MUST* buy.
It's like peace and relief wash over me all day.

Wish I feel the same..sigh..but generally if the prices are higher than "subnormal", it's a relief.
I am just the opposite, I come here daily looking for new items that I want that have never been done, or are done in better quality than earlier ones. I can make my own props, but when it comes to quality conforming clothing, I leave that up to the PAs.
What kind of customer comes to a store's forum and announces that they're glad when they don't feel the need to buy anything? The same kind that thanks DAZ for saving them money when a new character is released that they don't personally have a need for?
You guys are lucky I'm not a mod. ;)
Or looking at your cart that has a dozen 70+% off items in it and realizing
that you don't really need any of them.
>blip<
Empty cart. Premium pizza tonight!
We seem to share all kind of common inner experiences here :D
I like buying at daz store. I'm always a bit sad there isn't something that knocks me off my feet.
LOL, me too, so I've enjoyed these last few months. I think the Brute 8 Pro Bundle was the last big (for a pauper) money I spent and I wasn't even offered a discount on this Christian 8 Pro Bundle at all!
Sure, because we realize were wasting money!
.
its a mixed thing..its great to see something that knocks your socks off..but since 1/1 there has been nothing....plus the pricing is like everyday, 30-40-50% off. I think DAZ has somewhat killed itself with the big sales as much as 90% off... when I see items at 80-90% off, and dont have the cash, then I see them full price or even 50% off, I pass. So now its pass pass pass, and it also allows time to think..
what am I doing buying all this stuff I don't need. Then the hammer with no discount on Christian 8..and more thought..well, I'm not buying that for sure ... and then it becomes, I don;t need pro bundles anyway as I dont need or use half the stuff.
It is still disappointing though, when you;re a DAZ junkie, when you look at the new stuff, or stuff, and nothing strikes you as you have to buy it or even put it in your wishlist. no offense meant to the PAs or DAZ, but after awhile the repeats tend to wear on you, the similarity.
sometimes is good for a laugh lol The Hexagon
If the operative word is "MUST," then only Core characters and Zev0/Sickleyield/RiverSoftArts utilities fit that bill. But I love, LOVE, LOVE coming to the store and seeing items that are so well made that---just on principle---I have to buy them.
Case in point: I have no need whatsoever for an ATV, but Sareth ALWAYS pulls out all the stops with his models; so, I'm going to buy it Tuesday when my 3D budget fills back up. Also, being a big fan of Aako's Mud Desert and other stuff, I'm also getting Iray HDRI Hazy Sunsets and Desert because I love huge terrains and tequila sunsets.
I have a vested interest in Daz's success; so, I want them and the PAs to keep coming up with things that MUST be had. Superlative quality assets make it a lot easier to get superlative quality renders.
I kinda get what the OP is saying. It is a relief, especially after a couple of long and productive sales like we've had the last couple months. It's like a relief you can feel like you can give your bank account a rest. LOL. Don't think the OP had any ill will against Daz or anything. Just venting :)

The Bermuda Circle?
I used Ati's app at the beginning of last year to see how much I had spent. Ihaven't looked since, as I really about had a heart attack. It is a relief when there isn't anyting in my preferred genre on any given day. And I honestly don't need anything. Lots of stuff I want but I have enough to last a lifetime.
You would be surprised. There are game communities I have developed for with 3rd party commercial stores that have tons of addons, some cheap and some for 100's of dollars. I know users there that have spent thousands to upgrade a 60 dollar entertainment purchase (and very little of it is backwards compatible)
Such comments are useful.
I thought I had a dear hobby until I looked into music production
I have piles of free VSTi I use and programs like Anvil studio, LMMS and VSTHost and get by
but if you want anything decent its hundreds of dollars per plugin plus the digital audio workstations to use them, I just look and saliviate as its all beyond my budget
I have the same feelings too! xD
When there's a great sale, my first thought is "another month without upgrating my RAM..."
This feeling goes hand in hand with the "I don't need this, but if I don't buy it on sale and do need it later I'll regret it" feeling.*
*Though waiting long enough usually brings it around on another sale... if I can be that patient.
here you go ..full fledged and really good. free for long time ..oh, its only $60 . its one of the best DAWs out there.... tons and tons of videos to learn it. easy to use.

and the sales here will save you hundreds and hundreds of $$$$

I regularly check out KVR
believe me I have no shortage of plugins, just that the paid for ones look so awesome and there only seems to be a top tier of pricing when it comes to them, it's the audio equivalent of Turbosquid with no DAZ3D existing for models.
The kind of customer who buys multiple items almost every day.
You'd be luck if I was your customer ;)
+1
I must admit the quality and range of products available are getting very sparce. I like doing outdoor environments and am not finding anything new that I would want to spend my money on. I find too many products are way too large in scenes and heavy on computer power. I would prefer to see more manageable packs that have more individual items that you can build onto as opposed to large ready made scenes.

OK, if you'd said that in the original post, I wouldn't have said anything. The reason why I wrote what I did is because I'm sick of people posting things like "thanks DAZ for saving me money!" whenever new bundles are released, usually giving no reason why, not to mention that no one gives a hoot about what they're buying or not. I've only ever bought one Pro bundle (Rune 7), and that was because everything in it was suitable for fantasy renders, but I never felt the need to announce to everyone that I proudly wasn't buying the other bundles.
I took your comment like that, and since it appears that wasn't what you were doing, then it wasn't justified. Sorry for any misunderstanding. To be honest, I sometimes feel relieved when I don't see new releases that I want, but that's only at the end of the month when my coupons are gone and I've already spent too much. :)
I agree, but at the same time, it's accompanied by an acheing sense of disappointment.
I both dread and look forward to coming to the store to find something that makes me go "Wow! I want that, I need that!!!".
Then I have to spend the entire day putting up with my inner child jumping up and down, demanding, cajoling, pleading for it....
i had to buy the thistle for petuia
