Is Platinum Membership Worth it

  • I buy very rarly on Daz but in fairness, I design what I want and have found many freebies for most of what I don't design.

    However...

There are many things I wouldn't mind having that I would have to buy on Daz and as such, when the 1/2 price membership came available ($70/yr down to $35/yr), I took advantage of it.

At the half price cost of $35 for a years membership, I figure that even if I continue to shop only sporadically, I'll get my investment back in a month or two at most in over all, retail cost savings.

In addition, I have to admit that I'm now motivated to spend more on buying than I have in the past.

If you need a lot of more expensive Daz Original content, then it's WELL worth it (base morphs, etc) or if you get at least one PA item per month (as long as it's not a new release, you get a 6 dollar coupon on PA stuff too). If you don't need much in the way of content, not so much ;).

  • I'm a frequent shopper here and have had a PC membership off and on for years.  Every time I've canceled it, I've missed it.

The Platinum Club membership really worths it in particular when you purchase the Pro Bundles. September PC anniversary and December Loyalty discounts are other good reasons. Compared to the savings , the membership is cheap.

Just I cancel it in order to cool down my buying-fever.

If you spend on average $18 or more a month a DAZ 3D without PC+ it is worth it but if not then it is not worth it.

Do the math.   You spend  $70 per year.   You get 12 x $6 coupons for DOs and 12 x $6 coupons which can be spent on PA items.   You get access to A large catalogue of products at PC+ prices and you get 30% off Any DOs you purchase which are niot new and not PC+.

You have only been posting to the forum for a few months so the chances are that you have not put together a large catalogue of products as yet,  so I would say it is obviously worth it,

I'll see your maths, and give you a fun anecdote: I rejoined PC+ when the sales started this month, specifically over Eva. I got Micheal Pro at the same time, and a bunch of other stuff. Between that and a few other orders (and all the freebies), I saved nearly $500 over a $24 spend.

Not gonna complain about that. Sadly, if I'd had the dosh for one more item, I could have had A7 and Daruis 7 Pro as well. That would have put the discount alone over $600, and most of the way to $700. I'm *all* good, even if I never spend another dime here in the next three months.

Yes, it will save you money on the purchases you make.

You may buy a lot more than otherwise becuase you're a member and the sales encourage you to spend.

Daz makes its money off what I buy, not off what I need. :D

    ... It is fun though.

Actually if you watch for sales you can sometimes get the annual membership for half off ($35) so that is $144 in coupons, additional savings on Daz Original and huge savings on PC+ item, not to mention extra saving on some special sales like the recent PC+ fo a Day where you you could a nice selection of Published Atrists items for $1.99 -- All for only $35. Personally I saved enough during the PC+ for a Day Sales to more than pay for many, many years of PC+ membership.

  • Heading towards my second year. I was hesitant to renew in advance but was convinced because of the "half off" discount for annual membership. I got new release freebies every week (which later on are sold at their regular prices). Bought some items that were reduced greatly by the monthly coupons. So yeah, it's worthwhile for someone like me who is starting to build a product library (that encompasses environment, props, hair, wardrobe, characters, poses, and shaders). Also, throughout this year, I realized the splendid work of most PAs here as I started making my own models via C4D R18; and that I get to buy them at deeply discounted prices. smiley

A good example is the return of the 1.99 PC items that were only temporary.

Some decent items in there, some very decent too.

  • If your ONLY* purchases in a year are 1 DO item per month using "Save $6 on Daz Original " coupons, that more than covers a $70 yearly membership. If you got a 50% off deal on your membership, like during Anniversary, your membership more than pays for itself in 6 months. That doesn't count the weekly & monthly freebies, which are often $15+ for non-members (so $10.50+ for members after the free promo). Nor savings from any other purchases, including those made with a "Save $6 On $18+" coupon.

So I think it's a great deal, even in months when I can only afford to use the DO coupon and get freebies.

    I agree
    Its a fee
    to get stuff free
    but I spend so much
    I have to jump
    for glee
    PC+
    It's a necessity

The problem with PC membership is that it will make you buy a lot more stuff. Take it if you're willing to add many products to your library!

3 months cost 24$, you have

    • 3x6$ to spend almost however you want (one per month): 18$
    • 3x6$ discounts on at least 18$ orders (one/month): 18$
    • more free items
    • a lot of discounts

So yest, it's worth it, but they'll hook you up and, even if you just want to spend those 12$ per month (18-6, but you're never gonna find exactly 18$ orders), you'll end up spending 36+24=60$
