I requested their fastest internet service. I used to make and upload YouTube videos. They said my TV and phone are free when factored into the bundle.

Around here, you can't really shop around for service. Comcast carries cable tv and internet in the Minneapolis'St Paul area. No one else offers cable tv & internet. The local phone company's DSL service is pretty bad, according to my brother.

I like my live TV. Hulu, Netflix, etc don't meet my needs. I want "live" TV I don't want to wait a month or a year for the newest episodes. I have the user interfaces for Hulu, Amazon Prime and Netflix. I can never find anything.

The sales on Daz are so frequent that while I have been busy these past few months and not on the forums etc, I have seen the same items up for sale at least 4 times during the course of 3 months.  I have to agree the sales are frequent, they are good though in many ways and help people get content if they are new or missed it on another sale.

Just set a limit for what you might buy, and decide what type of asset you are willing to part with cash for and keep it simple.  Taking a break from buying never hurt anyone either if that is what they need to do.

It ain't cheap being American.  The gasoline may be less expensive here but we get milked dry for Internet service and Entertainment access.  My Internet provider is my phone company and they charge me $107/month for my landline unlimited telephone and unlimited Internet access.  I use their DSL technology over the landline for Internet access at a consistently measured 60Mbs (although, I'm paying for 100Mbs) which is more than fast enough for HD TV programs.  I hardly ever use the phone, and receive only 8 or 10 phone calls a month (mostly from my pharmacy or spam calls) but  can't get Internet access without their phone service too.

It used to be worse though, because I used to also have to pay for satellite service for my TV access and they charged me another $110 for medium level service (150 channels) of which I regularly viewed only about 6 of them so I dropped the satellite TV service and now do all my comfort chair, big TV, HD video viewing through NetFlix and Amazon Prime and YouTube via the Internet for a total of $21/month.  Saving me about $105/month.

I have a cell phone but rarely use it and never use it for data or video so I buy pre-paid access that costs me only about $7/month.

In that case, go with just plain internet. No bundle.

It went up a little bit and I got the name wrong before, It's DirectTv Now through at&t. But for $40/month you can have 65+ live channels. cable tv. log in from any computer or phone and watch. Doesn't matter your internet provider.

Speaking of which, a quick google showed me you might be able to get CenturyLink, $65/month 100 MB download speed. (Actually, that's a heck of a lot better than my plan, $80/mo for 24MB download which is plenty for my internet needs)

So you would still have your live tv and super fast internet for half what you were paying...
