Help! RTX2080 graphic card didn't work in Iray rendering

Hi there:

I am looking for help with a problem about the RTX2080, and this problem comes from my friend, I am trying to figure out it for him. I am not a native English speaker,  my English is poor but still a little better than my friend, who has bought a RTX2080 graphics card(orginal version NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080)at one week ago.

The problem is: my friend can not use RTX2080 for Iray rendering in DAZ Studio(4.10 Win 64-bit). In the render setting menu,  he can choose the CPU mode,CPU+GPU mode(but after rendering begins, only the CPU works), and when he picks the GPU only(Iray),the rendering  can not be started. All in all, RTX2080 do not work in Daz Studio at all. However, my friend can use this RTX2080 card for rendering in MAYA,just like before, and he also can use the old graphic card(GTX770) for rendering in the same Daz Studio software.

I am not sure if my description is clear, it seems the Daz Studio do not find the RTX2080 card, and the RTX2080 driver and GeForce Experience are all be installed and work well.

Could anybody tell me why this happened? I have searched on the internet but could not find a answer, so I had to come here for help. Please give me a hand, thank you!

  • Daz has to implement Nvidia 2080 iray first. I don't know if this card is supported yet. You should open a support ticket and ask technical support.

Doe RTX even have Iray support yet? I used the release to get a 1080ti at a lower price instead, working out great

Sounds like your friend needs to update Daz Studio to the 4.11 beta version. I believe versions prior to 4.11 do not have the later iRay builds that have support for the new RTX Cards

Edit - im sure i read somewhere that the 4.11 beta build has support for the RTX cards, but a brief look at the 4.11 notes and i cant see where it states there is support for them

You have to use the 4.11 Beta. There are a couple threads about that.

This is the choice i also face too now, i prefer to 1080Ti, especially while the problem  above happened.

Could you tell me where i can find the 4.11 beta version please? It seems that the maximum download is only available for version 4.10.
