Hey everyone,
I'm looking for clothing that would fit into an Arabir or Middle Eastern setting. Ideally looking for something like the kind of attire worn by the LoRez Arab Male. I believe it'scalled a Thobe or a Thawb? Forgive me if I am spelling that incorrectly or have the name wrong totally!
Any pointers or suggestions most welcome!
Many thanks
John

A few ideas, none ideal perhaps, but potential for kitbashing.

Thanks Redz,
Some great ideas there, I can maybe do as you say and kitbash a little. The desert robes page linked to another product that looks like it could be preetty useful too - the warrior monk outfit. The actual desert robes may work if my character has had a rough day, as they're a little tatty for what I'm after! :)
Thanks again for the insights!
Best of luck with your project. The desert robes have non-tattered materials options too, if you look through the promos.
I was going to say the same and they dForce quite well for me (assuming you have the option/interest to do so). Or cleaner looking shaders could be applied for desired results.
I recently used the Moroccan Dreams attire with d-Force on Genesis 3 Male and both the robes and turban looked really good.

The Moroccan Dreams also has several texture expansions which look nice converted to Iray (assuming you are rendering Iray).
Sorry, double post.
A G3 and G8 update of 'Moroccan Dreams' would be highly appreciated. Daz made wonderful PC+ outfit series, like this one, the 'Cheyenne' series or the 'Pharaos'. They deserved to be updated!
Very old M4 content

A more modern style:

Wow, lots of food for thought - thanks everyone!
I hadn't even considered using shaders to 'modify' clothing! That part is still pretty new to me, but not beyond my grasp :)
Question - I know you can easily load G3 clothing onto G8, but will M4 clothing apply so eaily? Do I need to purchase any converters or adapters etc? I'd rather not have to use M4 models as I really don't have that much, and I think he may look very outdated up against G8 models in the same render? Not to mention he's native 3DL and I only render using Iray.
Oh and yes, to @GlennWebb - I am able to use dForce and that part was very helpful, thanks!
I found this by accident and bought it this evening. https://www.daz3d.com/shepherd-for-m3
I autofitted it to Genesis 1 base since I have the clones for the Millenium 3 figures and then autofitted it to Genesis 3 and draped with d-Force. I did just quick tests with it but found it looking quite satisfactory. Also I did not do any d-Force work on the outer robe/coat, just the hood and inner robe. I'll likely make my own texture maps for this.
Here's a quick drape test for the Gen1. I really like this outfit. Cheap and works great.
Interesting! I may have to give that a go. It certainly looks pretty much like the clothing I was looking for. What would be the process of getting this to fit a G8M figure though? I know you said you put if on a G3M with auto-fit - would it work just as well with G8M?
Also, how do you 'add dForce' to an item that isn't designed for it? If I'm reading that right I'd love to learn how to do that! :D
There is also Desert Headwear for Genesis 3 Males at Renderosity and CGBytes.
Select the item and then Create at the top - new dforce modifier weight node. The open the simulation tab and to the very top, right there are 4 small lines that open a menu. Go to dforce - add dforce modifier - dynamic surface
