Does anyone else have issue with the new Clothes by Sshodan? My DAZ Studio is crashing and crashing again, if I start dForce. (https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-duchess-dress-for-genesis-3-and-8-females?cjref=1&utm_source=cj&utm_medium=affiliate)
With other dForce clothes I don't have issues.

Which version of DS?
I just tried in 4.10.0.123 with no crash - however, I did notice, loading the dress onto a posed figure, that there was a lot of self-intersection in the skirts as the rigging looks to be fairly simple so if you are just draping in place, rather than starting from a safe memorised pose or a safe pose in frame 0 and using the timeline, you might find dForce can't cope with the resultant tangle (though that should result in a crash, just an exploding mesh).
Yes, I'm trying to use it on G3 currently. I'm getting, Open CL notify: CL_MEM_OBJECT_ALLOCATION_FAILURE error executing CL_COMMAND_NDRANGE_KERNEL on GeForce GTX 970 Then after that Dforce refuses to function for anything, even if I remove the clothing item and try one I know works. I deleted the clothing item, closed out STudio and went back in, loaded same scene [minus dress] and loaded a dforce item[s] I know work and it flowed fine thorugh the simulation. Deleted what I did and loaded new dress and got the above error message again. I'm using latest STudio release.
When I delete the dress and try to use the items that worked before, I get an instant message saying: Error preparing objects to simulate. It doesn't even hesitate when I try it.
This is from the log when I get the error preparing message:
2018-09-08 20:01:17.751 Found 36 unused vert(s) on the geometry of node "Goblet". Removing unused vert(s) from sim.
2018-09-08 20:01:18.752 WARNING: ..\..\..\src\dzdynamicsengine.cpp(1859): ERROR: clCreateCommandQueue (-5)
2018-09-08 20:01:18.814 Total Simulation Time: 3.78 seconds
The mesh doesn't explode on my side, it just doesn't do anything, no draping. We start off in the very beginning going ok by the looks of the log and then after 5 minutes it pukes.
Edit: I just did a test, removed everything, scene, hair, props, etc. Just G3 morphed and textured. I loaded the full dress prop this time, and it flowed without a problem. Originally, I loaded dress and skirt separately. I have now tried loading dress and skirt like before and it goes through the process fine. So items in my scene must be conflicting with it or items in scene with dress was causing a memory problem. I placed a Plane under the model to help show a ground for the hem to drape over. Hoping I can remove the Plane and load my scene again and see if it will render.
Mine doesn't crash Studio, but I get horrible self-intersections and unfixable poke through. I'm going to return it, which is a pity cause it's a nice-looking dress. I did try loading both dress and skirt separately and as a set, no difference.
Thanks for your answers. I'm working with DAZ 4.11.0.196.
And I think I dream. Yesterday evening I close my Studio after the last crash and go to bed. Today I startet a new test, same Simulation, same Figur, same Pose etc. I've made nothing other than yesterday. And it works ^^ DAZ doesn't crash, her skirt doesn't explodet. Thats a little bit Spooky. Hope thes dress will work in future. :)
I was using the Genesis 8 version, I will try the Genesis 3 now.
The genesis 3 version worked for me too, though I do see quite a bit of poke-through that might require soem tweaking (perhaps start with a bit of an offset from the figure).
I was having all kinds of issues with it last night on G8. Will try again today.
I'm still getting sim errors with this, even in poses that aren't that extreme. Is there any documentation on how to use this particular piece of clothing? Most dForce items work well out of the box or have "tips" you click on that tell you what needs to be set special, or hidden. I don't see anything with this one.
Sorry for late replay - I tend to forget that the forums exist :)
1. The dress is designed to be used with "Start Bones from Memorized pose ON", which is a default setting, so if you changed it I'm assuming you know what you are doing and why :) When using this the only intersections that count are thous that appear in default load pose the rigging is than discounted and simulation works fine. If you did switch it off most of the layered dynamics won't work.
2. If you get pokethurgh the easiest fix it to add smoothing modifier to the dress Edit>Figures>Geometry>add Smoothing modifier AFTER simulation it will fix any pokes with the underlying body, if you have dress poking through itself than do the simulation from timerange and make it slow - usually it's due to sim running to fast.
3. I always recommend adding any shoes AFTER the simulation - many shoe models tend to cause explosions on dynamics - the models themselves are very detailed and it requires way to much power to calculate the collisions.
4. The dress does require the latest DS version, earlier versions can have all kind of issues - dForce is being developed and updated constantly atm and I tend to take advantages of the latest features :)
5. AFTER the simulation switch the model in to HD (Parameters>Mesh resolution>Resolution Level, switch Base to High Resolution, the dress will look smoother and if you had any odd lighting artifacts they will go away :)
6. It is a heavy, advanced item, if you are doing complex poses make sure you are doing them from timeline and give a good amount of frames for simulation - doing it to quick can cause issues. Generally the more powerful you PC is the easier it will be for you to work with this - calculations for it are resource intensive.
Thanks, @Sshodan , I will try again. I was having a lot of issues with this a couple of weeks ago, and think I did it right, but let me confirm that.
