How are Gift Cards supposed to work?

Ok, I read the article on Gift Cards and that didn't help.
What is suppoed to happen when you buy a gift card? I ususually want to use the GC immedately to buy somethign that is on sale. But everything I buy a gift card nothing happens. No email. No redemption code. Nothing.Then I end up having to submit a ticket to get my redeption code. Then by the time I get the credit the item I wanted is off special. Does that happen to everyone or do I just have bad luck? I double checked the recepient email and it is correct. Any ideas?

I just bought another one. I get an email from DAZ (one if credit card is used, two if I use paypal) I click the code inside the email and it brings me to DAZ and then I redeem it and I now have store credit for that amount. Pretty straightforward.
@FSMCDesigns has outlined how it's supposed to work, and it is easy to redeem a gift card. However, it sounds like the email isn't making it into your inbox, which would suggest those emails are ending up marked as junk. Some ISPs, (your internet access/email provider,) can be really aggressive when it comes to filtering out "spam" messages.
Do you have a gmail account, by any chance? My official email with Daz gets a lot of mail, (and a ton of junk, as I've had the same one for almost 20 years now!) So when I buy a gift card, I use my gmail address for the recipient. I've never had any issue with the GC email getting through. But if it does get marked as junk, it will still be available for 30 days. Just log in and check the Spam folder.
It may also be possible to use Yahoo Mail, or other such online email accounts for the recipient, if you already have one of those. I just have no recent experience with other online free email services.
It works fine for me I've used it a few times. I use paypal and I always get two e-mails like FSMCDesigns, the first one never works, the second one does.
I don't know why you are having problems. The obvious suggestion is to check your junk mail/spam folder but if you are getting the email sent by support I don't see why you aren't getting the original one, unless support are sending from a different address, does anyone know?
I do see the paypal receipt and the order confirmaiotion from Daz, but no links. Thanks for letting me know how it usually works, no biggie, I'm sure Daz support will send the # to me when they handle the support ticket. I did check my junk mail folder, nothing there, plus I get tons of other email from Daz so I don't think email is the problem.
