Good idea for document tools and thanks for replying.
I actually do use OpenOffice for all my non-trivial documents. But I don't believe that OpenOffice has a calendar.
I need a sophisticated calendar product that permits scheduling by time of day, day of week, day of month, or week of month, either as a single trigger or as recurring trigger. For example: schedule an event on the third Wednesday of every month. Then I want the trigger to send me an email.
Not a screen pop-up, or a Tweet or Twitter, or Snark or Grabboid or whatever the latest communication fad is.
I want an email. I don't use handheld computer devices. I do all my computer stuff at my desk on my computer. My life is designed around email, full sized documents, large screen web browsers Internet Explorer or EDGE, and real computer programs, not apps. I'm an old fashioned guy.
Microsoft used to provide for free a mail program that would work but every few years they changed their mind about how it should work and what its name was. Now it seems that the last free mail tool they had has fallen through their crack and they want us all to spend at least $100 for their overly complicated, business-level mail product "Outlook", that may or may not work completely seamlessly with non-Microsoft office products like
Apache's "OpenOffice".
I'm sure Microsoft would rather that you rent their complete cloud based office suite called Microsoft Office.
I'd be happy if I could find an actual mail application not made by Microsoft that doesn't require me to move to some other web browser like Firefox or Opera, or whatever. I just want to have a calendar that sends me email.
is it sleepy time yet?
I recall an old buddhist master who said "I eat when I'm hungry and sleep when I'm tired". Probably the healthiest way to live - listen to what your body tells you it needs - but difficult in this modern world. Modern food which often is produced with taste rather than health in mind also tend to makes us eat more than necessary.
It seems that Apache Open Office does not have an Outlook equivalent. I don't know about Libre Office. Nope, that doesn't have it, either. If you search for Outlook replacements, a lot are browser-based. There are some that I've never heard of. There are a couple that are desktop clients, I think, but I've never heard of them. Good luck in your search. I even considered Ashampoo Office 2018, but it doesn't have an email/calendar component, either. I like Ashampoo, I have a few of their titles.
I think you can still find MS Office 2007 at places like Amazon, but their kind of pricey. I didn't check for only Outlook...that might not be too bad, if you're willing to go that route.

I found this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Outlook-Business-Contact-Manager/dp/B000WEJYM4/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1533091375&sr=8-21&keywords=Microsoft+Outlook

They were lonely and they like you?
well, i don't like them. they need to stay outside where they belong.
..hah, I'm still running Office 2K. Only use it for personal writings and spreadsheet work. Perfectly fine for my purposes.
...well the "fever" we've been suffering with where I live finally broke tonight. Nice and comfortable, down into the 60s already with a bit of a breeze. Temps will head down into the 70-s for the next several days with a chance of wet stuff even. Finally will be able to get the first sound night's sleep in almost a week and a half.
I don't think Libre Office has the equivalent of Outlook in the suite
Thunderbird has a calendar, but it's newish and I don't know if it would do what you need (I just use it to remind me to take the bins down).
The Outlook 2007 option is looking almost possible, but I hate spending lots of money for old software.
I know I could get my mail by browsing to an on-line mail server but I hate those things. Local email programs have much more control over mail filtering and automatic sorting. I've downloaded my email directly to my computer since email became a thing (I was there). When I'm gone they'll have to dig my email files from my cold dead hands.
I feel tired but not sleepy.
is that a paradox?
sigh

co worker was telling me basintracin?
"Bacitracin and Neosporin are both OTC [over-the-counter] topical antibiotics used as first aid to help prevent infection from minor abrasions, wounds, and burns. These drugs are used in similar ways, but they contain different active ingredients. One product may be better than the other for some people. Compare the major similarities and differences between Bacitracin and Neosporin to decide which antibiotic may be better for you"
Bacitracin was the no more tears spray
I've used Outlook for many years, too. Since the 90s. I was around for the beginning of that, too. I remember BBS's, I was on a couple. And there was the offline reader, BlueWave. Before that came out, I had worked on an offline reader for a friend's BBS, that was run on a Commodore 128. I did it in Borland C++, and used a modem software (what was the name of that? Something Comm?) to get online and download the stream of messages in a BBS board room into a text capture file, then used the reader to parse it and view the messages. It was almost ready, when my friend got an Amiga, and it supported the BlueWave offline reader! Oh, well, it was a good learning experience. I've forgotton a lot of the C++ I learned, though. Haven't used it in decades.

The tattoo artist should give you after care instructions for your tattoos , follow them .
Complaint: I've decided not to go to Chautauqua tonight. I'd hoped my back would be feeling better but it's not.
The pieces I want to hear will be played late and I don't think I can walk down the hill, sit on those hard benches, and walk back up the hill without aggravating it even more.
Non-Complaint: I won't be spending $5 on gasoline, $40 on my ticket, $9 for parking, and $20 on food and ice cream.
And I still have a chance to go for the excellent final concert later in the month. Disappointing yes, but the world won't fall apart. And..., I used some of my saved money to feed my face instead of my brain. Got more groceries and went to the best local fruit stand and got another of those wonderful watermelons and a juicy cantaloupe.
My toolbar in Chrome is AFU and won't work. Sometimes restarting my computer helps, sometimes not.
Still working on transferring to Ed's computer. Win 7 to Win 7, used Easy Transfer. Need another handy 6 of Shiner.
How is Ed? Tell him he is missed.
..not really, there are times I often feel tired but not so much as to fall asleep.
...yeah nobody really likes going to the doctor, self included. However having something go terribly wrong is a lot worse.
...indeed, some of us are both curious and concerned.
i keep forgetting today is Whensday.
this weekend gonna just putter with the plants.
replant my daylily, her name is anna hennrietta.

cant go swimming while the tattoos are healing. no pool noodles fun.
i got the hand weights and the stretchie bands to keep working out at home.
wont be doing cardio anything >.<.
next thing on my bucketlist is harry potter world.
do we take our memories with us?
..ahh, slept like the proverbial log last night. Didn't wake up feeling I had just finished a marathon in New Orleans during the summer.
Forecast is calling for a high in the upper 80s but don't think it will get that warm after the thick morning clouds we had. Still have smoke in the air from those fires which is filtering some of the sunlight (was hoping the change in the wind would have pushed all that out last night).
serious sleep catching up sounds good
