....'plaint.  woken up a t around 02:30 last night by hearing someone in the hallway yelling in the hallways.  Apparently this person had some sort of argument with someone  in one of flat across the hall and chose the early morning hours to vent their feelings for about 45 minutes. Bad enough it is difficult to get a decent night's sleep with the current heat then this happened. I wasn't the only one woken up of course pretty much everyone on the floor in this area of the building was (save for the fellow next door who works nights).

Reported it to the office this morning and the manager mentioned they have been experiencing issues with the people in that unit (this was the same one that only weeks after I moved in, smoked the whole floor out by burning something in the kitchen at 01:30 in the morning forcing us all to evacuate).

...and here I was so glad to get out of that house I lived in where the husband and wife argued loudly almost constantly often late at night.  Made Ralph and Alice Kramden look like real lovebirds.

@Misty: When I went to the gym in the 80's I was told the target aerobic heart rate is 220 minus your age.  Don't know if that's still the rule or not, but I think so.  At the time, my resting heart rate was around 60.  Athlete rate.

    Dana

    60?!

Now, it's more like 80.  And that's after doing some stuff to get my weight down and things.  A year ago, my resting heart rate was around 100.  I wasn't happy with that.

Movie theaters are good at having expensive food to mindlessly eat.  I bought an over priced bag of Reese's pieces because I could not afford the overly priced popcorn.  The food is not the main attraction but the movie is.  Why did I buy that bag of candy that was so darn expensive?  I ate it but I was more paying attention to the movie than the food!

Complaint:  Ummm..., give me a moment... I know I must have something to complain about...um...um...weather?...No, it's been pretty well behaved here lately indecision...Um, health?...Um, nope, I'm still upright, above ground and in no major pain indecision...Finances?...Um, no cigar there either, I'm no Scrooge McDuck but I still have a few dollars in the bank, and if I'm careful they'll last until next "payday" indecision...Politics?...<Um, less said, the better>...indecision.. Um, DAZ?...nope, haven't wanted anything desperately from them, but I did pick up a couple freebies from them, so, that's cool. indecision Um...Human nature?..Aye, there's something I could rant about.enlightened  I tend to notice it being too much like Simian nature, especially when observiing other drivers. sad  OK, today's complaint topic is other drivers. yes

    1) Why is it that other drivers can't stop at an intersection before their vehicle's engine is over the white line and halfway into the pedestrian crossing area? sad

    2) Alternatively, some people haven't learned about parallax and believe that when the white line disappears behind the front end of their hood (bonnet) they're over the line when in fact they are still 16 feet behind the line. frown

    3) Why is it that when you're in the righthand lane (in the US) and you've stopped properly at the white line of an intersection and are looking left & right to assess oncomming cross traffic before attempting to turn right (in the US), that someone in a monster truck will pull up next to you across the line and completely block your view of the traffic coming from the left (in the US), They're sitting 2 feet above your head in the truck and could see over an elephant so why do they feel the need to block your view? angry

...yeah, tell me about bad drivers. A day doesn't go by where I live when I don't see at least a couple bonehead motorists doing something stupid.

Just the other day I was coming up to a crosswalk where I had the walk light and this dolt decided to pull up and block the entire crosswalk, forcing me to walk around the front of his massive petrol hog which required walking perilously close to an active lane of traffic moving at fairly high speed.  He had five feet of room behind him and when he saw my look of disdain, instead of backing up just stayed there and the had the audacity to smile and wave at me. It wasn't like he couldn't see (as he was in one of those gigantic "urban assault" luxury SUVs that would never survive being driven off road), or was trying to make a right turn (as he went straight ahead when the light changed).

plaint - i don't trust the nurse practioner to be deciding my medication.  i called them monday to tell them i'm not taking the metfornin amymore, i had no will to live with the side effects.  they called me back to tell me to stop the merfornin.  i'm supposed to make an appointment with nurse practioner about diabetic pills, but i only want to talk to the actual doctor about it.  >.<  i'se screwed.

did a workout last night with a personal trainer.  what a difference when the professional explains exercises and machines.  he said he grew up with ms, so he understands what handicap is like.
He taught me how to get out of a car, didn't even think to ask about, thought i'd be graceless the rest of my life.
tried it this morning and it worked.
plant your heel, put the other foot forward a little bit, then push out of the car seat with  hands, rocking forward, sitting in the seat sideways.
still fuzzy on all the abudtion muscle stuff.
did 3 doggy paddle laps on a pool noodle. wheee
20 minutes on the recumbent bike. my heart rate went up to 114 after 8 minutes.  my resting rate is 92, dunno what normal is.  there's a formula to figure out your target cardio rate, my particular target is 166. don't think that will ever happen, would be totally happy if i can get to 125-130. the machine, was a star trac has levels 1 - 20, i pedaled at level 2 laugh
don't think i'se ready for a pilates class, but might try it anyway.  hopefully, someone would call an ambulance for me if it doesn't work out well.

after all this fun, SCAT bus didn't show up to take me home, i was totally stranded. texted my neighbor if she'd come save me, she told me to call the bus company.  it was almost 9pm, the bus office is closed.

so i sat on a bench outside the club, in the driving rain, sobbing with despair.  nice person came out said whats the matter.  he drove me home, is a about a 15 minute ride from the fitness place.  i been having so much fun this month had no emergency taxi money, prolly woulda been a Lor.

    sigh

scary next week, going to the retina specialist.
and the spine doctor who did the emg on me legs,
gonna find out the results, emg didn't go well.

need something fun to do this weekend. mebbe my nails done. refresh the lovely blue nailpolish.
heard really horrible things about the gel nailpolish.  don't do it!surprise

I work in Insurance. I listen to people  for 10 hours straight complaining about how terrible all of the other drivers are....

The number 1 place to get into an accident= walmart parking lot. ( from my own and the people I work with's  overwhelming experience)

Best way to stay out of an accident = park as far from everyone else as posssible, 2- never tail gait. I can't tell you how many people say ' but I only looked down for a second'.

Holy flipping poopshnoodles... I just clicked on my DAZ bookmark and saw "please hold on while we sign you in"...

    IN!... I got signed IN!

All I ever do is get signed out, or I see that snarky little "please hold on while you are signed out" message...

I'm hoping this isn't some parallel universe or something.

I hate parallel universes... I always end up in those annoying ones where I have to grow a goatee and be the evil version of me... That's too much work.

More concerning is apparently me or the other me who was here last was writing something and the forum saved a draft of it... I'm guessing me or other me was responding to another post... "Chihuahua is much easier to eat... Less hair"... Do they eat chihuahuas in this dimension?

I have no idea what I or other I was responding to, but if chihuahua is a common snack food, I'm on board... I suppose... "When in Rome..." right?

Whatever... I'm gonna go see what's in the refrigerator in this universe... I hope it's something good.

Cheeeeeeeeze cake! I'm gonna like this universe!

  • McGyverMcGyver Posts: 7,085

    Ghaa... Stupid universe...

That cheesecake was for someone else... Now I have to go buy a new one... Probably two, one as a decoy for me to eat and the other as the real one meant as a replacement.

I don't see why anyone would leave an unattended cheese cake in the fridge while I'm still alive.

My wife knows better... You don't leave me alone with fireworks, rum or cheesecake that's on hold... Not necessarily in that order and not necessarily limited to those items individually... Actually there is a ten minute long list of stuff that was part of our wedding vows, but those are the ones that stand out at the moment.

Non-complaint:  A few days ago I received my latest order from Amazon.  After six decades of wanting one, I finally bought myself a proper prism.  Not a little plastic toy prism, or a cheap educational-kit prism, but a proper equilateral  prism that is 6 inches long and made of dense, clear, polished, optical quality glass.  I unwrapped it as if it were a Christmas present and gleefully set it on my kitchen window and waited for the sun to shine.  And waited, and waited, and waited,  For four days the morning sun that in the summer blasts through my kitchen window (the only one in the house properly oriented) has been hidden by morning fog. sad But today the sun has come out and I have a blazing rectangular spectrum of bright pure colors that projects to the size of a piece of typing paper on the far wall.  It's bright enough that the colors bounce from the wall and tint things nearby with their crystal hues.  It's glorious! It's glorious!  Yay!  Happy, happy, joy, joy! smileyyes   I can easily pick out  deep red, bright red, orange, yellow, green, blue and even indigo and violet.  Yes!  So cool!

I really need to get a wooden supporting base made for it so that it doesn't accidentally fall from the window sill and instantly transform itself into jagged chunks in my sink. frown  But for now I've stood it on its end vertically and twist it to aim the projected spectrum to a wall.  I need to catch it earlier in the morning to be able to get the spectrum to fall onto the white refrigerator door.  Ooh, color!

I worked today which was supposed to be my day off.

I found this app which downloads and installs a lot of cool stuff.  I call it DIM but the icon has IM on it. It lets me download stuff for Carrara for example.  Wow!  There are a lot of cool stuff this Install Manager can download.  0.o um?

oh the thing about work was not a complaint.  Maybe the complaint is that DIM has a lot of cool stuff.  0.o
