GoZ Addon keeps shutting down Zbrush
The GoZ Addon keeps shutting down Zbrush whenever I try to upload from Daz3D.
Even a fresh and most basic sphere cannot be transferred.
This was working before 2018.1 came out.
I really need some help in trying to get it to work again, anyone know how?
Here are some things to know before giving an answer:
- Freshly installed a few times, did not work.
- Operating System is not at fault.
- Not using other programs that may cause conflicts in tandem: Hexagon, Bryce, Maya, etc.
- Zbrush works just fine as a whole, models can be made and used as normal. Just GoZ is broken.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I use the GoZ Addon a lot, but now I don't know what is going on.
From what I can tell lots of people on art forums and CG forums, have been having issues with GoZ in the newest update to Daz3D.
Sadly, no answer have been given to the solution that may help.
I got commissions I need to do soon, and I can't work if GoZ won't work.
I asked for the same help in the Zbrush forums, but someone has told me the problem isnt with Zbrush but with Daz3D.
I am pretty lost sadly in trying to locate the possible problem.

I have never been able to get it to work at all with Zbrush 2018 on the beta (yes installed beta plugin) DIM will not show 2018 as an option only R4 and need DIM for beta installation
I am having a similar problem. It doesn't shut down Zbrush--but I get an error message when I try to upload. I have tried reinstalling Goz but DIM won't install something it already has installed. I tried reinstalling from Zbrush, updating paths, etc. All the usual fixes. Daz is unsupported at Zbrush and the GoZ implementation is on Daz, unfortunately. I am also unable to work with this latest update. I wish Daz would check test updates more carefully--it was working fine with the version before 4.10.0.123. It seems like every update breaks something.
I believe people are using GoZ with the latest ZBrush (I still haven't updated), but there do seem to be others having issues. You might try clearing out the C:\Users\Public\Pixologic\GoZProjects (or Mac equivalent) folder, but if that doesn't help please open a Technical Support ticket
That does nothing, because as I said it was freshly installed a few times and the folder is empty.
So I may have found something that could help, maybe?
I checked to see if GoZ was going to accept a new Path Find to Daz3D from Zbrush, but for some reason it doesnt detect Daz3D as a viable program anymore!
So it seems the problem MAYBE that GoZ no longer sees Daz3D anymore as a place to transfer into and out.
Does this help any in finding a solution?
I knew it!
Daz3D isnt a recognized path to GoZ anymore! Oh come on...
Anyone know how to fix that? That may be the answer I am looking for.
yes mine only looks for 3D studio Max
it is likely Pixelogic's problem not DAZ3D's
honestly I rarely used the bridge going the obj export route, I only discovered it trying to get mesh with vertex colours into DS
Pixelogic's community told me it's not their fault on Zbrush's side, and now Daz3D users are saying it's not Daz's problem?
I mean... I'm going back and forth now between Zbrush forums and Daz3d's forums saying it's neather of their problems...?
This isn't helping... -_-"
Pixelogic Moderator: "The Daz3D GoZ is the responsibility of Daz not Pixologic. You need to contact Daz."
Yeah... so, I dunno what to do anymore. *Shrugs*
Seems no one in the whole wide world knows how to fix this cursed GoZ Addon :(

Fixed Goz... but now have a new, and most crippling problem posted here:

Has the application folder for ZBrush changed?
GoZ is already fixed now.
Please see other post linked above for my next, heartbreaking and soulcrushing problem.
GoZ isn't fixed for me. I uninstalled GoZ and reinstalled, updating the paths in DIM (to Zbrush 2018.1) and Zbrush, clear the GoZ cache and the DSON cache and force reinstalled the plugin from Zbrush. I've done all of this several times to try to fix this problem, restarting and reloading DS files, all to no avail. I checked the GoZ config file for Zbrush which was:
PATH = "/Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4 64-bit/DAZStudio.app"
APPS_UNLOCKED = TRUE
I still get this error message (attached).
UPDATE: EUREKA! I found a solution (in the next comment)
I found a solution to my GoZ problem--I reinstalled GoZ in Zbrush. The installer is located in "Troubleshoot Help" in the Zbrush 2018 folder. After installing, I updated the paths in Zbrush and suddenly GoZ was working again in both directions. So apparently it was a Zbrush issue, not a Daz issue.
