Here's my latest Dog 8 render. I call it Dog Days of Summer, although I didn't use the product of the same name in the store.

Wow! I think that even tops your last one! I guess I have to decide by tomorrow whether to get it. Your renders are really pushing me over the edge!

    Looks very nice, barbult.

Thanks for the nice comments on my dog in the inflatable flamingo. smiley Maybe I could use dForce to explode the flamingo, but I don't think it would look like what would happen if his claws broke through the plastic. Maybe I could use dForce to flatten it instead.

Well, you could buy it and try it. If you aren't satisfied that it is better than what you already have, or if decide you have no need for a dog, you have 30 days to return it. Don't let the sale pass you buy if you think you really DO want it. See, now I AM trying to convince you to spend money. laugh I find myself liking it much more than I had anticipated. I've already gotten my money's worth of fun from it with just the two renders I've done.

I just spent a lot more money than I expected on old Genesis and G2 stuff that came out to 87% off but I really stocked up. For the stuff I do, I don't need 100% realism so any generation works for me because I do lots of arty post anyway. Might load up the five dog items and see what the discount is, but I have a feeling since they are Daz O's, they will be highly discounted by Christmas. They do look fun to play with though. And you came up with really creative ideas how to use them but my creative brain is currently on vacation it seems!

Edited to say that it comes out to 70% off which is good and it wouldn't surprise me if they come out with a cat with a discount for those who bought the dog, if I know Daz marketing...  And I REALLY want a cat. Well a virtual one. I already have a real one!

    video, click to play

not that anyone seems terribly interested but I am still playing with my fur

I now doubt I can be bothered uploading it to shareCG as really only usefull to those who want animate stuff and rather resource demanding

Well most of us don't have zBrush frown although it does look better animated than in the stills. It probably needs rendering (animates or still) & people will notice more.

was a rigged duf file that fits to dog 8 but moot point as too big for shareCG

I posted only videos no stills too

Well, you can always use it in renders & post in the Gallery or the Art Scene section of the forums for it's artistic merit.

Bring on the bullys....not a single bully breed morph or texture? Really?

  • Oso3DOso3D Posts: 15,095

There are over 300 recognized dog breeds. Maybe give the PAs some slack to cover more ground. ;)

I wonder if the Victoria Birthday sale interrupted the dog sale.... Hopelly there will be new breeds and a Growing Up version and a huge morph set like what Rarestone, Handspan/Thorne and some other PAs do for characters. And lots more furs! Now that I got the dog, maybe I will try creating some furs in Photoshop. I was really hoping we could get animals based off of G8 like the hedgehog so we could use G8 clothes. If someone could make a hedgehog from G8, why couldn't they have made a full animal set???

Well, I'm still hoping for a traditional Chinese Foo Dog morph.  smiley

I want any dog with "real" fur that works well in Iray.

I have LAMH but still haven't even attempted to use it. Hopefully someone versatile in it will be able to do that soon! I think Hivewire has presets for their dog and/or cat, so hopefully someone will be able to do that here!

well as I found that is not terribly easy, my crappy attempt is up for download on DA BTW for what it's worth, is more for dforce animation though than image renders as I make videos

This is my first experiment creating a "Look at My Hair " preset for "DAZ Dog 8" in DAZ Studio and Iray.  It's a just simple Density map applied to the"Coat" surface. No post work.
