Just spotted (and wishlisted for next week) the new Albatros D.Va model. It made me wonder what else there is in that sort of WW1-ish era that could plausibly fly in the same scene.
I already have the Blue Sky Biplane, which is a pretty good Stearman PT-17 (although it's really a 30s design), and the old Biplane, which is a bit toony but looks sort of like a Thomas Morse. From Renderosity (but no longer available) I have a set of the DH2 biplane and Fokker EIII monoplane.
And that's about it, apart from a couple of steampunky models that could fit anywhere up to the 30s or 40s. Anyone seen anything else? I'm particularly looking for actual WW1-era planes, or something close to them, with moving parts.
Preferably moving parts that work right — no ailerons named (and moving like) "flaps", or elevators moving like ailerons, or the two mixed up...

There is this freebie: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/?item_id=58221 or same one here: http://www.sharecg.com/v/37892/browse/11/Poser/Avro_504k_Biplane

Plus there are a lot of different ones over at Turbo: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-model/biplane?sort_column=a5&sort_order=asc

Not sure of the quality:-

There are also other biplanes from various people but from earlier in the war.
Another nice biplane model is the MS14 RAF FE b2 BI Plane by London224 over at Rendo, but is earlier in the war then the Albatross DVa
Post-WW-I biplane... and a fascinating piece of history: Polikarpov Po-2 (link goes to ShareCG model by Pedro Caparros).
A Russian all-female fighting unit actually used these biplanes during WW-2... the 588th Night Bomber Regiment, also nicknamed the Nachthexen ("Night Witches") by terrorized Wehrmacht forces.
There's also a texture set here: http://www.sharecg.com/v/78037/browse/6/Texture/Textures-for-Polikarpv-Po-2
I believe the Rudder moves. I'm not sure if there are other movable control surfaces...
There are other biplanes and things in Pedro Caparros' gallery.
Thanks for the pointers, especially for the French planes — I knew about them, but they're very rarely mentioned anywhere. Nice to see some less well known models.
...man I wish there was someone here who do a nice accurate DC-8, 707, and VC-10.
If you have questions about the Albatros D.Va, feel free to ask.
I posted a gallery image here: https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/594246 and another one here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/3716861/#Comment_3716861
For the promos I used that very old Biplane from the DAZ store.... as some kind of background airplane it's OK.
The Pfalz III from shareCG doesn't look that bad. At least somehow accurate in terms of it's shape.
Have to check out the "Christmas Surprise" and the ones from Rendo as well. Thank for the tip!
If I ever do another WWI airplane, the Nieuport 28 is on top of the list.... a beautiful plane.
