I thought my post wasn't approved so I didn't follow but here I am. Ok, what I meant by good looking is something like the attached picture. Most of Genesis 8 (pretty much all of them) have huge cheekbones and big/thick lips and that's very annoying. But after a long break with Daz3D I just found some new good looking Genesis 8 female. Here is the list of what I like:
1.) Maebry for Genesis 8 Female
2.) Marnie HD for Genesis 8 Female

The latter two of the three images are somewhat stylised; the eyes are larger than normal. The first is also stylised (after taking another look) to a degree I'd guess; largish breass with so much muscle is surprising; slim waist too.
Cheekbones and lips: Well, if you own the morphs (Genesis 8 Female Head Morphs - Body also available), then tweak them yourself. Thin lips (see image) are rediculously easy to accomplish. You can favourite those you use a lot as I've done in the image.
They are all attractive younger women.
G8F? Two words: Sakura, Kachow!

All going to show that beauty is in the eye of the beholder because I didn't find any of them particularly pretty or attractive. LOL.
Different strokes! :P

They are pretty but I don't how they are going to help you find 'good looking G8F characters' at all. You are are a better judge of what you want than our guesses.
Besides, if you are looking for characters and those are your definition of pretty well you have them already & need not look any farther.
Personally, I'd argue that the base G8F model is herself a good looking woman once you swap in something a bit less underwhelming than the base G8F materials.
One of my most used characters is one I've built on an almost unmorphed G8F face mesh (just a slight raising/narrowing of the chin), supplemented by a set of materials from a free G3F character I found out on the net. (I'm sure the imperfect, blemished look of this particular material set isn't to everyone's taste, but personally I think the realistic flaws help her look a lot less plasticy than many characters; I think it's one of the best material sets I've got, and I didn't have to pay a penny for it).
A big part of the reasoning behind that choice is that expressions and face controls work a lot better on meshes closer to the base shape they were designed for, and a lot of them are designed for the base G8F mesh, so a character using something very close to the default face mesh is often much easier to get natural feeling expressions out of.
(Her body is a bit more modified though - a mix of the G8F morphs, Shapeshift, Breast/Glute control and a few other free packs I found around the net to create a slightly more athletic build, as is my personal taste).
Base G8F is my favorite too and the smile you've done is the best i've seen on a DAZ model that wasn't sculpted special and I'd but it on par with that particular product
Wait, what? Do you mean the ones posted here or ALL of the Genesis 8 females? Because if you mean them all, I find that really hard to believe. There have been literally hundreds of G8F characters released. I have a hard time believing that you don't find ANY of them pretty.
I think it depends on what you find attractive. I’m not really into The big eyed, button nosed baby faced females that everyone loves. To me they look samey.
I like edgy mature looking ladies who are leaner with natural and less pronounced breasts.
nice work!!
The mats do make a big difference. The mats on this character do look good! Where did you get them? You said it was a free G3F character, do you remember where you got her? :)
I do - https://www.sharecg.com/v/89731/
Those materials have been subject to some adjustment and refinement for the version I'm using for my own character, and I eventually opted for different eye and teeth materials (I can't remember which characters I took them from, but I'm sure most people have a massive number of choices), but as a starting point, they have got pretty good texture files backing them up.
For the heck of it, I've also attached a version of the pose re-rendered with the default G8F shape/materials (with a slight camera adjustment to keep the two images lined up; my version has been given longer legs). It might be an informative comparison for people.
are we still talking here now about the official released characters of the G8Females or about any of them? does that mean any of them is ugly???
NO! LOL...the three posted above by the original OP ;).
Of course I find a lot of them pretty. Was just trying to prove a point that what the OP finds pretty might not be what other people find to be pretty. Everyone's idea of pretty is different. I'm also rather confused when I hear someone say that all the G8 females are ugly...I don't see it, but maybe some do? :)
Laurie
OHhh I see. lol Sorry, I thought you were talking about the thread in general. I did think that comment wasn't really "Laurie like" lol, so I was wondering for a minute if someone had hacked your account or something. hahah
I see what you mean about people's different ideals and taste - the images that they posted look a bit "toon" like to me, and not very realistic imo.
Ohhh Yeah! I have that one! Really fantastic character!
I used her when I was working on figuring out dForce on non-dForce clothing.
I was really impressed with the character - not only does the skin look great but I really liked the more natural "average girl" shape of the character.
I'm going to have to see if I can transfer her over to G8F. :)
Yeah, even though she's an ugly hag troll-wife, Penny 8 will set you straight. :)

Lovely image!
To me, she looks a little like Megan Fox here.
The above image is really beautiful
I kick myself everytime I see Penny that I didn't get her when she was on her release sale.... *sigh*... one day...
The Pro bundles are all on sale for $37 & change today.
Wow! I'm always learning something new! There are many morphs and things like eyes side/side, up/down, iris size, I always have to hunt for, never realized I could favorite them! Thanks!
Yeah, I just saw that, thanks! I grabbed her started bundle and a couple other things as well, I suppose that "one day is today, lol.
I know right? I swear everyday I learn something. Thanks to all of you vets, lol.
In the past, my issue was always the models were to attractive, they looked like high society runway models, I desired models with natural facial features, like Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) PA's have done a fantastic job !!! I love the diversity of characters provided, specially the natural facial features.
Penny is great; very distinctive, and great for diallin in - even to pretty and cute characters.
Welcome.
Just bare-in-mind though, the favourites pertain to the character/item they are on (it seems). But I tend to save most characters as subsets with items on.
I have one ready with various items loaded and favourites flagged. I have it set to load via a Script (F3 see insert in image allows you to customise scripts, and other menus.) Right click on an item > Create Custom Item adds a script to the Script Menu.
Really, it's about finding what works for you; I seem to enjoy creatinga custom character, then she (very rarely he) doesn't get used.
I save my built characters as scenes and just merge them. I oftem also have a couple of their outfits (visible and not) in the scene as well. Then just delete the parts that I know I won't be using once I have them in the target scene.
I kinda have to agree with the original poster in the sense of, when I apply a morph to my Genesis 8 Female base model, the facial features seem a bit 'sharp' as compared to the advertised softness- such as the cheek bones, lip curves and nose. The eyes also look a little 'anime'-ish. So I have to agree in part- the Genesis 3 Female lineup, when i add their models into my scene, they at least look the 'part', minus makeup, hair, whatnot. The Genesis 8 females- almost nothing alike.
For example: Aiko 8.
'Advertised'.
First attachment is my Genesis 8 Female morphed into Aiko 8. Nose, cheek bones, lips...all too sharp.
Now, it could be that my base model is just skewed (second attachment), which is entirely possible since I had to actually fix the genesis 8 male base model (Daz had loaded three whole different guy morphs into it, and i had never used it before. I had to take the morphs out and save it morph free. And I've already searched the entire parameters list for morphs and changes- all 0ed out.)
Now i would understand if I had to do touch up tweaking...but otherwise no.
That's an issue with the morphs, not the figure - morphs store a default value which DS applies on loading, so if it should be 0 (usually the case) and isn't you will get unwanted shaping.
Lighting and camera Focal Length play a major role in how the face looks.
