Don't eat it - it'll kill ya!
Page 99? Soon to be 100!
No new art to share, just been playing Stellaris a ton instead of being productive aaaaaa does that count as a complaint if I'm having fun but not drawing or 3D'ing? xD
Complaint: I've gotten so tired of playing my complete series of Myst games that now I just find a good walkthrough on the Internet, make a bowl of popcorn and watch somebody else play while I look for things I never noticed before, or watch the different ways they go about traversing places I know like the back of my hand. I like the walkthroughs that give a good explanation of the puzzles, and show screen shots of the where the clues and solutions were found.
I haven't started playing any new games in many years. I abhore the shoot-em-up games. I like Myst style adventure games. The last one I played was "Myst 5, End of Ages" but I hear that there is a new one out recently. I can't remember the name exactly but it's something like "Obsession"? I wouldn't want to watch a walkthrough of any new game that I might play. Half the fun is the blind wandering during the first play. "Ooh, that's interesting, Hmm, I wonder if it's a clue." Days and days of escapism.
At one time, I used to put in my old "Myst 2, Riven" game and play to the point where I could get to a good view of all the islands of the age and stand on the cliff watching the sea and listening to the wind, as just a way to relax.
I am debating on going to the library early or not. Reason not to go to library is my drink and I am not allowed to eat in the library. Reason I want to go to the gym early is that I could be at the library early so maybe I can go home early. No that is not it. It is probably quieter at the library than here.
Complaint: This week's PC+ freebie? Swords! More swords! I think I have enough free swords to furnish the army that battled in the finale of the third Lord of the Rings movie!

Hey, we have Walter Matthau! (they're calling him Floyd). And one of the guys in the GRAMPS expressions looks kinda like an old Tim Conway!

Another complaint: Fast Grab has Royal Carriages...I have Royal Carriages, and I have the box checked "Hide Items I Own". Site acting up again? It's been slow the past couple of days for me.

New Myst style game is "Obduction". Not exactly new. Released for PCs in 2016
But it's new to me, so perhaps I'll check it out. https://obduction.com/
At least it it not new like the Vivladi CD I just ordered. It might be new but I think Vivaldi's Four Seasons might have been out for a while.

10 more minutes! just wanna sit out in the sun for a bit.

8 more minutes.
I was on the treadmil for about fifty minutes today at the gym. I have been watching Doctor Strange at the gym on the treadmil. I am almost finished with it. Might want to see it again on a better screen that I can see the darker scenes better.
Hmm... I stop reading this thread for a couple of days and it's about to end.
Well... It had a nice run.
I feel slightly compelled to write a long story about something half baked and completely bizarre, to help push this thread over the edge... But I think my brain isn't interested in collaborating with my fingers on anything.
I don't know if my fingers are that interested in poking at the (virtual) keyboard right now either... My right hand is kinda bruised up a bit and it really feels uncomfortable when I flip someone the bird or make a fist... After I realized I hurt my hand I had to test those two features, which are usually pretty important... Thankfully I haven't had to use either.
Which is kinda weird because I've been driving a lot today.
Actually I had an interesting experience earlier... One I'm feeling perhaps I should pass on in case it's important... You know that new Homeland Security PSA... "See something, Report it"...
Anyway, not far from here is a shopping center and in back is a dead end street with a cat house at the end... Not that type of "cat house"... Real meow-meow earth cats... I have never been able to count them all, but often I'll use the dead end street as an secret exit from the shopping center when stupid people are clogging the regular more convenient exits.
On the very end where the street ends on a smallish house, there are usually about 3-5 cats... Sometimes maybe 5-10... In various places on the road.
On one night me and my girls took that exit and counted something like 18 pairs of little glowing eyes...
Creepy as that was, they were all scattered around (the cats, not the eyeballs) as cats normal do in an area they might congregate in... One sitting here, two laying there... Another next to a shrub, another riding a bike... Regular cat stuff.
But today I used the exit and as I looked back in my mirror I saw almost thirty cats... In a group... It was hard to tell since the car was pointed away from them and I had to lean out the window to look, but there was large group of cats all sitting facing the same direction, which happened to be at three other cats facing towards them... I'm assuming they were giving a speech or getting some sort of award... But it was very weird.
I decided to turn the car around and take a picture, but I had to move onto the main street to make a U-turn because a small delivery truck came along and by the time traffic on the other road allowed for the u-turn, the cats were gone... All of them.
Maybe the ceremony was just wrapping up, maybe they fled in the delivery truck realizing they were spotted, but it was kinda weird.
I thought I'd mention it in case something weird is going on elsewhere... Like if your cat has been getting a lot of emails or late night calls or has been hiding packages under their kitty cushions...
I'm pretty sure these were regular earth cars as I noted previously, which is what makes it that much odder.
Something is going down.
Anyway... Stay vigilant and stay safe.
Later folks.
And that made my day!
Dana
Waaaaait... Are you a cat?
There was a definite human vibe in your posts... You never mention mice or balls of yarn... Actually, toilet paper is the new yarn for cats... Or so they say.
I've on a few occasions I've not realized a guy was a girl or girl was a guy, mostly because of avatars and generally gender neutral comments... But species I'm pretty good with... Like that walrus who used to always post about mackerel and problems with dynamic clothing.
But it's fine if you are a cat... Cats are great... And if they are poised to take over the world... Uh... quite frankly... Good luck with that... You really can't do much worse than what's already in place...
Maybe the lack of thumbs can get in the way, but cats are clever and I'm sure they will figure it out... Just like they are the ones behind the push for self driving cars... I figured that out a long time ago... That and the real CEO of Über is really a grey tabby... Why else are cats alway being driven around by them?
Well... I'm glad you got a smile out of that...
Meow brother.
The catty assembly was a strategy meeting for an attack on the local dogs.
Complaint: I went ahead and bought that new Myst-like game "Obtuse", or "Obsession", or "Octavian" or whatever... and unfortunately it runs nicely on my machine until it doesn't. The installer warned me that my video card driver wasn't up to snuff. But I tried running the game anyway. I got about 10 minutes into it and the window went white and froze. So I rebooted and went out and downloaded the latest driver available for my video card, and it worked for about 15 minutes, then the screen went white and froze the game. Sigh, guess I'll have to think seriously again about a new computer or at least an upgrade to my video card.
"OBDUCTION", that's what it's called, "Obduction". Strange word.

The Canterbury Tales. hope i spelled it write.
do you have a favo(u)rite Canterbury Tale?
or any Tale actually?
Nope, not a cat...except maybe in the way vernacular was used in the 50s through the 60s in some circles. Not a girl. My avatar is actually me a couple of years ago after a snow storm.

Monstro
@ LeatherGryphon... The other day I came across a YouTube video about Myst, I normally don't click on suggested viewing choices because amongst other things they usually have nothing to do with anything I'd watch or be interested in, but I guess I was bored. It turned out to be kinda interesting and it included a short history of Cyan...
I lost track of the game after the third version and didn't know there was an online effort or that they were still working at it... I don't think Obduction was covered, maybe it was an older video.
@ DanaTA... I thought so... Cats generally just engage in online gambling and posting videos of themselves.
Besides that, your avatar looks too tall to be a cat.
@ Mistara... I want to say my favorite one was the one about the pirate guy with the robot and the magical snowmobile... But the more I think about it, the more I think it might not have been a Canterbury Tale... Eh, it should have been... it wasn't a bad story.
@ Chohole... That's weird... That's my dentist's middle name... Or maybe it's Marvin... For some reason I'm thinking Monstro sounds righter.
I enjoyed the Myst series of games for a few reasons. One didn't run around killing things. For the most part one didn't have time limits. One was never running from danger. Except for the offshoot "Uru" one didn't have to do much acrobatics and mouse wizardry but even there it was minimal. The puzzles were hard enough to not be boring, and except for the "Fire Marbles" in Riven were solvable before one's hair was completely torn out. One was not required to talk to people, or directly interact with people*. One was sometimes (rarely) talked at, and given information, but one could blissfully ignore danger from beings or creatures in the distance. HOWEVER, do NOT anger Savedro in "Myst-III, Exile" at the end of the game. Be compassionate. Choose wisely, grasshopper!
In short, the Myst games were thinking man's games.
* The exception to this is of course "Uru Live" which was a short lived multi-player game. I missed its short existence when it first came out, but I did join it when it was revived as a free on-line, multi-player game a few years later. I hated it. I don't like dealing with other people in games. I don't like competition. I don't like score keeping. I don't like idle chit-chat. I much preferred the stand-alone, single-player version of "Uru -Path of the Shell" and had a lot of fun kicking rocks and logs off the edge of my Relto into the void, running through the huge abandoned D'ni city, kicking the beach ball, and light balls around the floor, jumping down loooong staircases & peeking into dusty corners. I liked standing on the end of the platform of the old rotating prison building in the age of Gahreesen watching the forest and streams glide by, etc. It was all just a fun place to be.
Unfortunately, many of the the older games don't play well on modern machines. I keep a couple of old Windows XP machines around for just that reason. The biggest complaint I had about the Myst series of games was the technology. They had glitches that required patches, and they obsoleted themselves too quickly. Thankfully the dedicated Myst groupies still provide the patches and try to make some of the older version run on modern machines, though with limited success.
It's a popular middle name for dentists.
Is that gum stuck under this chair at the food court of the mall I am at? I am afraid to look as I touched it when moving the chair. Ewwwww!
Gum, a completely disgusting habit.
I'd rather walk into a room full of smokers than watch one person chewing gum.
You ever notice black spots on sidewalks in the city? Old gum.
Decades of disgusting old gum.
One can sweep cigarette butts into the trash.
But crudely disposed of gum is forever, whether it be on the sidewalk or the bottom of a chair or under a table. Disgusting!
I have been thinking of Pink Floyd for some reason when I visit the Daz forums or site. I do not know much about Pink Floyd, but I found Here comes the sun when listening to the Pink Floyd station on amazon music. They sound like the Beatles not Pink Floyd.
The Pink Floyd station has not played any Pink Floyd music yet. It did Led Zeppelin and Queen. Never mind now it does a Pink Floyd song.
