Genesis XX Starter Essentials Update ??

Hi,

In DIM I saw a lot of genesis 1, 2, 3, 8 updates for the starter essentials.
What is it about?
What did really change?
Does it overwrite modfications I did to the skin textures?

    If you modified the originals, yes - it's always better to modify a copy.

    Hi Richard,

    yes I noticed they ever overwrite everything. So I did a backup copy, of cause.
    And I had to modify the original textures, cause every new root character should load with my modifications, i.e. colored nipples, changed brows, etc.

    BTW: Even in the latest update, still the nipples are not colored.  OUTSH !!

    DAZ really should think about to adapt the current standard (of the later generartions).

    make modified copies, apply them, and save as a character preset - then use that to load the figure instead of the Daz preset.

    is a double xx update milder than a triple XXX one? cheeky

    I guess you cannot  modify  those textures as they don't exist in essentials

    It is not clear to me what "added anatomical elements UV set" means. AFAIK the G1-G8 basic characters don't have anatomy at all. So how do you add uv-sets for something that's not there ?

    Will previous/third party textures compatibility be broken by this update ? Either way I believe at the very least DAZ should state it clearly in the release notes. Such as "this will/will not break compatibility with previous textures".

    Personally I'm most concerned with "body" textures since I rarely use anatomy itself. Of course I'll do some tests myself with the new update, and if I find out that it breaks compatibility then I will just go on with the old G1-G8 set.

    If you've ever bought a pro bundle of any generation then you have the gens for that gender in that generation. The gens come only with the pro bundles.

    An update but G3/8 IKs are still broken... When they will work like Genesis 1/2? If I pull G1 hand, the whol arm folds and unfolds the right way, G3/8 bends his chest awkwardly! crying

    I just downloaded the new update and I can't see any difference in the G3 and G8 uv-sets. They're not changed so compatibility should not be broken as far as I can see. I still have no clue what the new anatomy uv-sets are for .. since there's no anatomy in the base figures.

    Not broken in the first place, just didn't do what you wanted. I thought we'd used the Geometry Editor to get the desired behaviour?

    i submitted a ticket on it.

    if they fix those root regeons mebbe g8f will work in carrara.  g8m is getting lonely, unless, he seeks company in another g8m
