How many of the products in your product library have you actually used?

IN response to this post which asks how many pages in your product library, I now ask, how many of those products have you actually used?

I think mine might be 10-20% . hard to tell for sure, but just knowing what I know. I usually only buy what I envision for a project, but many bundled items get unused for sure, especially Vicky with a sword stuff.

Difficult to be accurate. But if I think about all the hundreds (thousands?) of products I've bought and then consider all the products I've actually included in a scene, I'd estimate that I've "used" no more than 5%. Although, I do usually perform a trivial test render on many products when I put them into my library but don't usually keep the test scenes.
Tremendous waste of money to satisfy a compulsive collector's impulse itch, thinking "ooh, ooh, I might find a use for that someday!"
Mostly, I use M4, F4, Genesis, lots of human and monster morph sets & corresponding characters, some clothes & alternative textures, several hairs, a few architectures, a couple of "environments" (like: "cycolorama" and "woodland realm, etc."). I have buckets full of unused period costumes, wagonloads of unused architectures, and shiploads of unused props & trinkets. Most of which never got reloaded after a computer crash.
And I gave up trying to stay current with female anything 10 years ago it's a lost cause and endlessly repetative.
Probably more than I think; I frequently use bits from here and there.
The short answer: not nearly enough. LOL

I'd... rather not say...

"Some", lol
When I think about that I just think about how much money governments all over the world spend on stupid things like warfare, then I feel much better.
BTW, that new tank in the store looks cool...
When I started, I tried to play with everything at least once when I bought it or downloaded it, maybe nothing more than notice where it was located in the content directory, load it up, test render it. I fell away from that sometime in the Genesis 2 era, when I tended to just randomly load up on blowout sales of old stuff, but I tried to start that practice back up when I went to Genesis 3, and more or less stuck with it. I told myself I can't buy anything tomorrow until I've tested everything from my last order, and I still have 3 more items to go (and need to convert the hair poses from Dragon Dance to duf format, so I can store them with the V4 poses converted to G3F).
By that measure, I've probably used something like 60% of what I own, maybe 70%. Actually making purposeful pictures with stuff? might be more like 15-30%? Don't know for sure.
I doubt I've used half, but I'm confident I've used a significant portion. In addition to general kitbashing, I've bought a lot of texture sets, utilities, tutorials, and other things that are not necessarily the direct focus of a render but are very useful.
We're supposed to render with what we buy?
+10!
I've probably used bits and pieces of about half the items, and I've actually loaded and rendered the vast majority - once. Just to make sure they work. And there are some items I may never get around to using. I got Bryce, for example, as a freebie on a magazine CD and upgraded to the current version for virtual peanuts. And many, many moons (or half a geologic age) ago, DAZ offered the complete set of Bryce items in the store for an absurdly low price (under $100 total, IIRC) so I picked them up. To date, I've fired up Bryce just long enough to plug in the serial number (apologies, Chohole!).
At least 65% -75% I usually run a test render, and then come up with a worthy artistic render.
i should start doing that. see ya all in about 10 years.
I used to use ever single thing I bought in at least some render. Then Daz started giving us all these free bundles, and I can't keep up any more.
Bwaaahahahaha!
Assuming we are only talking about the stuff in our DAZ library, then for me it is likely around 20-25%, however if I ignore the huge amount of freebies, and really cheap stuff I have picked up (ie a dollar or less, most of which I do not need, and will likely never need), then I image the percentage would be closer to 50%, and if I only looked at stuff I have paid $5+ for, the percentage would likely be higher again.
How many have I not used
Same. I have a bunch of stuff I don't even want because I could get it free with something else and eh I'm not going to waste the opportunity in case I ever can use it later.
I feel comfortable saying that I've used over 50%... maybe not much over.
Now, how much of what I've bought over the years that I still use... that number is significantly lower.
Honestly, no idea. I'm actually using more and more of my content. I've slowed wayyy down on teh buying so I now actually have to use what I've previously bought. If I had to guess, I've probably used 30-40%. Although I could render one character a day for over a year and never repeat myself. Doesn't include morphs packages.
But for a whole complex scene I can use quite a bit of content.
I'd be surprised if I've used more than 10%. After MM, I'm going to be good about shopping from my own runtime and actually using things. (Hope floats eternal...)
