Gravity?! wasn't that a bee gees song?
wonder how many gpu gigs could i run on a 430w power sup?
Pretty much the same as when you have the flu, except that the emesis seems to erupt more spontaneously.. Even familiar, pleasant smells can suddenly be cause for projectile vomiting. I speak as one that a) danced around it for several months, many... many years ago; and b) treated it often in sickbay as a medic. The tried-and-true "dashing off with one's hand over mouth, looking panicky" might work best if you don't want to render the actual result.
when the doctor tells yoo not to eat something,
do yoo like,
want it immediately with a craving yoo never felt before?
No, I just get angry that I'm losing another thing that I enjoy!
Dana
I immediately go out and have a big meal of the forbidden fruit on the pretense that it will be the last time ever. And according to the doctor's prediction it probably will be.

Thanks! Had some tea and a big glass of milk, feeling better! :-)
Space aliens. :-|
"Milk it does a body good." Unless you're lactose intolerant.
...61° in Milwaukee (where the normal for this time is of year 36°) while here in Portland it's 44° (10 °below normal). Something's just not right with this.
54° here, not normal for February. Bright and sunny, too!
Dana
...wasn't it in the 70s a week or so ago where you are? Saw something about that on the Net.
May actually see the mid 50s here by Sunday.
True! Cow juice is not always nice. :-/
It's 78f outside, partly sunny anf humid. Window open and fan on HIGH, blowing right on me. Stupid warm here. Ugh. :-/
Defintely not. Unless I am in need of a colonic irrigation.
Well, after selling some gear I managed to have enough for a small treat, so I sent out for some Pizza the Hutt. Family-sized pasta on special, got chicken alfredo, a 2L bottle of diet soda, Cajun fries, lemon-pepper fries, and 8 boneless teriyaki chicken wings. That's about 3-4 days of food.
Will still need to grocery shop, but it puts it off until the end of the week. No need to cook for a while! :-)
I feel lke if I open my curtain, I'll get a sunburn...! :-O
...in Texas, I expect it to be warmer this time of year.
Crikey, even Stevens Point up in Wisconsin's "tundra country" is 10° warmer than it is where I am. They should be the ones dealing with cold, snow, and ice this time of year, not us.
One town in Eastern Oregon had a low of -9° (F) this morning (even Fairbanks Alaska was warmer).
I know its early in the thread, but...
...The Winter, Winter Go Away Complaint Thread.
Warm is one thing. Wanting to turn the AC on, that's a bit much for me! At least it'll be back into the mid-60f's at the end of the week.
So full! 6 teriyaki wings, Cajun fries, and 1/2 a bowl of pasta and it's naptime for me. Still left: 4 meals worth of pasta, 5 bread sticks, and lemon-pepper seasoned fries. When they said familty size pasta, they meant it! I'll be sick of pasta before it's all gone.
Tme for a little lie-down snzzzzzzzzz
Oddly, it got to 70 north of me, but it stayed in the upper 60s in my area. I'm in southeastern MA, but not on the Cape.
Dana
just spending the probably 2nd coldest night (TU-WE) of the winter... down to -18°C, all day long tuesday was already around -12°C, last night/day barely 2°C warmer, we had days/nights of subzero already before... so monday night, finally.. the water inlet of my toilet has FROZEN. i live in a huge attic with just 1 room fan-heated (2 of them on weeks like this so the temp reaches 12-14°C), my kitchen's at 0°C, luckily i thought of letting the tap run a little.
i'm so done with this winter - Winter, Winter Go Away!!!
I adapt for the season by the number of bed coverings and whether or not the air-conditioner is installed in the window. In the deep winter I have the 'lectric blanket and a quilt, in early spring, it's just the 'lectric blanket. In late spring the 'lectric is replaced with a thin blanket and I have to heft the air-conditioner up off of the floor about 6 inches and slide it into the window for the surprise early hot days. In early summer it's just a sheet and the air-conditioner. In late summer it's the AC and a fan blowing on me all night. In late fall it's the fan only, and I have to heft the AC forward and down about 6 inches to wait for next season.
Complaint: Last night I discovered that my 'lectric blanket is dead.
Non-complaint: At least that's better than shorting out and burning the house down.
'Nother complaint: It gets harder and harder each year to heft that AC in and out of the window. Must be gravity is increasing.
that's the good thing in summer (unlike winter) about this old farm-ish building - and the swiss high land (not mountains) - in summer it's nice, not too hot, the walls are thick stone, keeps it fresh'n'nice
omg - and this is exactly the reason why i would never use a 'lectric blanket.. i'd be too scared to electrocutr myself to fall asleep
friday spposed to be raint mess, 25mph wind, yep, it's umbrella breaker weather.
went looking for the latest driver for my 1050, driver came out yesterday lol
contemplating a cinnamon chip muffin and hot cuppa
That's why one shouldn't buy the cheap electric blankets. Nor drink water in bed, or have uninary issues while sleeping.
My blanket had a temperature dial from 0 to 9 but I rarely got above 4 and usually ran it at 1 or 2, just enough to take the chill off for the first few hours. I will miss it.
I got many years of use from it but now I need to start saving for a new one.
haha.. 3 more reasons for me personally not to get one - cheap is all i can afford, i drink/eat/do pretty much everything on my bed including typing this here, and while i DON'T pee in bed i can't exclude the occasional drop of cat juice (claws are a given)...
well, i hope you get one very soon, cuz tis' the season... but at least, without the elec-threat, you can use hot water bottles
ps1borg prolly has pear drunk lorakeets hanging out
Your AC is actually getting heavier! We're passing through a cloud of 'dark matter' and it's attaching itself to the compressor on your AC. If it goes on too long you'll need a crane to move the thing! :-O
Woah, major food coma! Went to nap, woke up six hours later! Still full, too. Dang. And everything tastes like teriyaki sauce, which is disconcerting when you're having a glass of milk. :-/
Slightly past midnight and finally cooling down, 69f right now. Window open slightly but I'm keeping a close eye on it.
Anne pointed something out to me.. in movies, whenever someone leaves a window open, something comes in through it and murders someone!! After watching dozens of movies, it's true - seen snake women, gorilla women, alien monsters, vampires, and the occasional assassin just waltz right in through an open window. Haven't people figured this out yet? So people, save a life, close your bloody window at night or at least install a screen. A screen seems to work just as well as a locked window, which is just plain weird.:-|
...I'd like not having to turn the heat on at night. Bloats the power bill.
..need to think about getting one myself.
Fortunately, the heat here is gas. Now, the AC will add hundreds of dollars to the power bl,, it's BAD. :-(
