Hey everyone, i have been searching and searching for the most believible hair for both male and female, looking for long and short in high detail with actual hair strands around the fringe, most hair i have looked at is not good enough for close ups, i want something that looks as good as the new characters that are coming out now, its just the hair that looks fake now. please give me suggestion and links ........TIA

If it had actual single strands around the fringe you couldn't afford it, or render it (memory), and/or everyone would be using it. A few of the fibermesh ones are pretty close and ther are some tricks you can do with others, but a straight closeup won't fool anyone that is looking at the details.
Not to say that the PAs that specialize in hair don't do a great job within the constrints of the technology.
There’s a few fibre mesh hairs on the Daz store and Redz sells some great hair products!
also Super sleekly hair is really good... there’s a few. But I know what you mean, hair is the hardest part of creating a character for me because they all look pretty unrealistic... and then when you do find a realistic one the styling is terrible.
It’s a shame that talented modellers also need to be talented hair stylists to be successful!
I don't know a LOT of hair, but the two most photo-realistic hair I do have are the Classic Side Part Hair from RedzStudio and the hair that comes with the Minami HD and Minami Hair product.
Here are a couple of renders of both products:
Probably one of the shorter stubbly ones. The longer the hair the more unreal it tends to become just because it tends to lack movement weight and other details of realistic hair. With shorter hair the hairline tends to lack realism especially on a lot of male hair because of the fit and the unisex hairlines and the gaps around the ears.

The fibre mesh hairs for some reason I often get stray artifacts on the skull cap portion of it. Or at least the ones from Redz Studio but then those are the only ones I'm still using. I think it's that dumb DAZ Studio bug related to characters not being located at (0, 0, 0) that causes transparency/opacity rendering bugs to show. There is actually a very convincing buzz cut fibre mesh hair from LaciItis Imagery on their Deviant Art page that is a freebie - as DAZ Studio groans to calculate geometry & such when you load & fit it you'll know why.
That said, if you get the mix of colors right for the diffuse base, gloss, transparency, top coat & so on, the fibre hair renders very realistic looking as far as hair strands colors goes. Those colors are sort of a guessing game though. It tends to looks sparse so it works better as short men's hair styles than as long women's hair styles to mention nothing about actually styling it in something like a long and complex style. The other problem you have with longer hair styles is the geometry involved is too much for most computers & for DAZ Studio I've read.
