Is there a way to fit aiko 3 clothing to genesis?
I confess I'm not very good at finding things in these forums. This has probably been discussed before. If there is a really good thread on this please give me a link. I've got some neat aiko 3 things, most of which I purchased when I first started in DAZ and had no clue what I was doing, but some more recent... as in yesterday... because I could not resist. I spent several hours trying to move the items over to both victora 4.2 and genesis but none of my methods worked. Auto fit was a total fail. Attempts at changing the clothing in parameters was a fail. Removing the fitting then adjusting the figure and rigging them to the figure actuall worked great until I refitted them to the figure at the end of the process. I really really want to use my cool stuff on a newer figure. Is there a method that works?

Either of these two products should allow you to use A3 clothing on Genesis:

https://www.daz3d.com/wear-them-all-autofit-clones-expansion-for-genesis-3-male-s-and-genesis-3-female-s
You'll need Gen 3 Iconic Shapes for Genesis (or just the parts you want) and/or Wear Them All - Autofit Clones Expansion for Genesis 3 Male(s) and Genesis 3 Female(s). They have autofit clones for just that purpose. Essential stuff for re-purposing older clothing.
Thanks for the links. I have the wear them all autofir but it didn’t work. Half the clothing ended up inside the g3 female and I could not adjust it without major distortions. Do I need to load a clone first? Maybe I have not been using the wear them all product correctly. I remember reading the docs on it two years ago. Guess I need to pull that back up.
Okay, this is Genesis 1, not Genesis 3, but the outfit is an old freebie for A3 with a creation date from 2005. I used the Legacy shape for A3 for Genesis, and one of the autofit utilities (I think probably Sicleyeild's, but I have Wear Them All as well and may have used that instead.
It came in with almost no pokethrough on the figure, but it took some tweaking and scaling to get the sleeves to stop poking through each other. Note: the skirt is not fitted to the figure. I turned the lower body invisible and just nudged the unfitted skirt into place.
Textures are from the Fabricator packages, and rendered in 3Dlight.
I'd have appreciated it a bit more if the legacy shapes had seprate head and body dials. But I was able to work with Aiko's head shape, regardless.
I like that
Make your own clone, it's not very difficult you just need some (a lot of) patience;)
1. Load Genesis with zeroed shape/pose and A3.
2. Scale squash deform (and abuse) A3 as close as possible to the Genesis shape.
3. Export A3 as an obj.
4. Import A3 as a morph using morph loader.
5. Set the morph type to modifier/clone in the parameters pane.
6. Save as a morph asset, type needs to be "Modifier/Clone". Group should be "Hidden/Clone".
So did I! The outfit used to be in the frepository here, but that's long gone. It's a remarkably useful set, and Elizabethan is a difficult period to find anything that can be used for it.
It still seems to be accessible through the Wayback machine at:
http://web.archive.org/web/20080804045445/http://www.eldritch.se/poser/Renaissances_BallRoom/
The Artist was called Frederik, I think. And the Geometry folder is identified as !Eldritch. The full name was Renaissance Baroness for A3. There are some texture sets for it on Share Cg, but really, the outfit has enough matt zones to be *really* shader friendly, and in that case, I can't really see using canned textures on it. There are alternate sleeves to the ones I used.
The headress is from rendo. One of the Finishing Touches series, I think.
What a fantastic freebie outfit. Looks great.
I'll try this. Can't hurt. Plus I like learning more so it's an opportunity to learn.
Hmmm That's really weird. Are you sure you have the EXPANSION listed and not just the original Wear Them All? The expansion has the clones for A3.
I have these three products:
https://www.daz3d.com/wear-them-all-autofit-clones-expansion-for-genesis-3-male-s-and-genesis-3-female-s
https://www.daz3d.com/wear-them-all-autofitting-clones-and-clothing-smoothers-for-genesis-3-male-s
https://www.daz3d.com/wear-them-all-autofitting-clones-and-clothing-smoothers-for-genesis-3-female-s
Is that first one the expansion you are talking about?
I got to step 4 and realized morph loader is not a part of daz so I started looking for it and found out that it is not compatible with daz 4. ::sigh:: It was an interesting experiment non-the-less. I was able to get very close everywhere but the chest. No matter what I tried I could not get rid of her pecs. lol I was going to see how the rest worked and then take the dform tool to her when I found out this was not an option.
Morph Loader Pro is built into DS now.
Where do I find it?
All right. I have no idea why the outfit I was working with did not convert well the last time. I just tried it again and I dialed in the aiko 3 clone under the parameters tab before I started. The item went on fine, except for the feet. I then dialed out the clone and it still fit a genesis 3 figure. So now I'd like to move it over to genesis 8. Do I need to save it as some kind of asset first?
You could also try Crossdresser 4.0 by Evilinnocence. With the licenses of V/M 4 and V/M 3 you can convert most of the Generation 3 clothe to the Generation 4. Not tried yet, but maybe then you can use them with SY new Product "SY Victoria 4 and Michael 4 Clones for Genesis 8".
Make sure the character is selected and wearing the clothing that you want to be able to fit to G8, then:
File >> Save As >> Wearable Preset
You should then be able to navigate to where you saved the wearable preset and autofit the wearable preset to G8. When autofit asks what the clothing item is made for select "Genesis 3".
Thanks. I don't have crossdresser 4. Just found it and added to my cart. Will download it later today.
Ok thank you. I get a little lost with the assets and presets. Right after I started using them daz glitched on me and I had to reload everything from the ground up. I'm sure the tech team could have figured out what was wrong eventually but I needed it working immediatly in order to finish a commision I was working on. So my memory of what asset does what is dodgy at best.
I'm going to load an image up later today to show the outfit I worked on. The hat is doing odd things after I posed her and the hair lost half of it's controls. Before I save it as an asset I'd like to try and fix those items. The outfit is actually cuter than I expected and it translated over to iray a lot better than I expected too. All in all I'm very pleased. Just a few more things to figure out.
Ok here is where I am. The toon hair I did not feel worked with the outfit so I changed it to uber iray and changed the color. Although a dark color looked more serious I opted for a fun color. The skirt has a kink at the bottom and for some reason my sy adjustments are not showing up for that. I know I bought them but can not find them. The sleeves and hair have some adjustments in parameters but they do not work. I think in the past that I found the only way to move those adjustments forward was to save the outfit as a asset for each generation until I ended on the one I wanted. Am I right in that? I have not tried gforce on this yet. My guess is it will explode but it would solve the sleeve issues if it worked. As I had said I like it except for the hat. I can not figure out why it distorted like that when I posed her. Wondering if I need to import it again. I imported as none for type of item, maybe import as hair? Any ideas?
Did you autofit the hat, because with hats and hair that's not really necassary just scale and move it into position and then parent it to the head.
I did autofit it. I'll try that when I get back up. Bed time for me.
I'm still working on this but also in the middle of working on a house so that I can move into it and my time is severely limited. Came back in to look at the information but the images we all posted are gone. ::sigh:: I did not know they get removed after a while. I imported the hat as hair and that kind of worked. It's a bit distorted but it sticks to her head and I can pose her with it on.
Tried this but that meant moving the hat if I changed my mind on pose. Wondering if I can parent it to the body and not have to keep moving it.
