FG dForce Breast Presets for Genesis 8 Female Disapointment

I was happy to see this product today in the shop and it was an insta-purchase. I really wish that the Creator would have uploaded the tutorial videos in advance since the product is very misleading. Yes Dforce is applied to the breast, but the breast is only deformed and there is no mass displacement, making it look very unrealistic. For instance if you place one hand under the breast, it only deforms the part where the hand is colliding, but there are no correction morphs or anything else that will bring the breast into shape. All this preset does is provide with a bit of undercurve for the breast thats it. You can see the result below (its SFW)

  • Thanks for the info. Does this mean the product itself is mediocre and not as efficient as the already available squish or other morph packages? Also does it work with clothing at all given the fact that the info text refers to second skin and nude usage?

Hi, I made some more tests to show you how the breast deforms. It works with breast morphs but not well with larger or more complex morphs. Also it does not work with non-dforce clothes

It could be possible since the figure is low poly, you're not going to get a detailed deform against something like fingers because there aren't enough polys to go around. But something like a wall or furniture would work with the mesh limitations.

Thank you for showing that example, it shows that this product does not do very realistic deformations. But dForce is basically a cloth simulator so it treats the mesh as a flexible shell. I don't think it has any way to simulate a flexible mass inside the shell. You suggested using correction morphs to do this but is there any way to automatically link morphs to dForce displacements? Maybe you can currently only do realistic breast deformations with morphs and not with dForce.

Thanks for posting the examples.  I'd rather suspected this would be the case, so I'm glad I didn't buy on impulse. On the positive side, now that we actually have real a real dynamics engine in DS, I'm hoping that we'll see real softbody collisions at some point.

I would think to similate the flexible deformations of breasts what you'd want to do is

    a) create a series of displacement maps for the DAZ Surfaces Torso - maybe quite a lot of them but once you got proficient at them they'd get easier to make

    b) choose the displacement map that displace volume(s) on the breast(s) as your wish and apply them - they wouldn't show up until render though

    c) To animate you'd need to change the series of displacement maps in series as appropriate

How is this better than the Breast Control products from Zev0 (or similar from other vendors)?

  • In my understanding it might complement but not substitute Morph products like Breast Control or others. As it treats the figure just as a "hull", it offers good collision support but fails once it should "move" material. So one might need to first form the body with morphs and then apply the dForce presets. Question should be: Is the result worth the additional effort. How long does the dForce preset need to be applied?

I don't feel it is, although the idea is better. Breast control are morphs to simulate impact, dforce is actual impact, but apparnetly there is no way to set up proper breast parameters for dforce to use.

  • I'm thinking of getting this anyway. I have a method to get breasts to move when animating a walk or something, so I am thinking plus this I'll get a better look. I won't know until I try it.

  • Having bought and played with this product today I thought it might be a good idea to clearly let everyone who is wondering about this what this product actually does.  Essentially after testing and watching the tutorials it’s become obvious to me that this is using dForce to basically replace impact (or Squish) morphs for the breasts.  It can’t be used to simulate something like gravity on breasts because the breast only changes when it comes into contact with something else.  So if you are looking for soft body dynamics this isn’t it yet unfortunately.  Much like the dForce hair settings that are available it’s more of a stop gap until the real thing comes along.  Now saying that I do like and appreciate this product because I’ve always struggled to use impact morphs to get realistic results but using this in conjunction with other breast morphs like Breast Control I’ve gotten some nice results in testing.  I hope this helps clear up any confusion that anyone has before parting with their hard earned cash.  I think it’s also better if I point out that as of now this is all I know in case anyone starts asking questions I can’t answer, I’m just a user and have no connection with the PA at all.  So if what I’ve said hasn’t helped it’s much better you get in touch with them directly if you can.

    Cheers,

    Stu
