Making objects disappear and re-appear in an animation.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to make objects disappear during an animation. Trying to figure out how to do a magician scene where a ball is placed on a table then  a hat placed over it and then the ball is gone. If I hide it on a certain frame the ball is hidden forom the beginning of the animation. I was sure you could not key frame hiding, but if I just delete the ball at a certain frame again it is deleted from the beginning.  I know this is a newbie question  but I thought somebody might know how to do it. Thanks

    You can teleport it in one frame underground or otherwise out of the scene.

    Easiest way is to just keyframe the scale of the object to zero. There are also free aniblocks that do this by hiding the object (found in aniblocks > animate plus > visibility)

    But I find the aniblocks don't always work properly. Scaling the object to zero is the easiest.

    Thank you so much for the suggestions, at least now I know there are work arounds, and all the methods mention would be easy to try.
