Dang, I missed the big glitch! That will teach me not to leave and go use what I already own. :)
Daz probably assumes everyone got 100+ freebies from the screwup. So, no more freebies this round.
I was downloading, but stopped and removed the unloaded packages just in case. I was so excited about the Fantasy Morphs. I didn't even know it existed. Now I do.
So how good is everyone's memory? The free item discounts still work on the things that were in the carosel before they fixed it. Just picked up one of the pro bundles I remembered seeing in there before they fixed it.
Not the biggest.
When Daz was still using the old store software, pre 2012, there was a glitch where a ton of DazOs were completely free. They fixed it but it happened again a week or so later. I sent a screen shot to the CEO showing that it was not fixed. i did not check out though.
I just thought they were making up for the lack of freebies the first four-hour block of the sale. I was out with hubby and came back to see a huge category of products. It's was well past the hour, and I figured Daz would have fixed a glitch by that time.
well nobody died or got shot

That's what I don't get. It was 50 minutes before it was corrected. But like others have said, I would be open to giving the stuff back if they asked.

If I have to give it back I will understand, but I'd be very sad. :( For it to go on almost an hour, I have to wonder if it was just a cheeky little surprise for customers who've been losing sleep to check every four hours on the hour. That's what I assumed it was when I bought.
Yeah, but it was 8:00 on a Saturday Night (for the people at Daz central) so someone could easily have mistakenly set up the wrong group and it wasn't until someone started screaming (probably a PA) that they realized something was wrong. Depending on where the poor programer was at the time...
I actually thought it was the real deal and couldn't believe my eyes. A lot of the 4-hour sales have been ok, not too great, and I've been checking mostly around the clock (when not asleep.) I've made the buy one get three purchase several times but other times only got the one freebie. So when I checked this time and saw all those goodies....I thought whoa I'm lucky, maybe they are spicing it up for this one go-round. I went crazy, but ran out of time because I hadn't checked in when it first started, so I didn't get as much as I might have before they'd changed it again.
All the new freebies, but one are not fixed yet.

I gave up feeling bad about glitches after the five hundredth time we begged them last year to fix this stuff. We tried. We really did. I think we spent an entire Sunday begging them to fix the broken stuff because it was so bad around this time last year.
We alert them here all the time to issues. I'm happy to be a customer and more than willing to pay a fair price, but geez, this one looked genuine until it stopped suddenly. Sometimes it's hard to even tell. As an IT person who also did web development, all I can say is - test your stuff repeatedly before you take it live, and make sure you've got 24/7 help if your store is open 24/7 with product in it.
Not for me and I'm logged in. But hey, if they let me keep any of the other stuff, I won't mind.
On the moral plus side, I didn't even notice any of this "EVERYTHING WAS FREE FOREVER" thing I'm seeing people mention. I grabbed one freebie, then bought Horrifying Skins and got three more. So there's that...? (I'm trying to tell myself that makes it better but I still feel kinda dirty now that the popular assumption is "glitch". ._.)
Except for the very first set of freebies, these Thanksgiving freebies have been smoothsailing and gets updated on time. Then this massive glitch happened...
It did run on longer than what I've seen glitch sales do and most of the things I picked had previously been free with purchase of the corresponding G8 versions that I'd missed out on. So I'd kinda been hoping to see them free or very cheap again and when it happened, I thought "Surprise Flash Sale!" and pounced. Next time I'll wait even longer before doing that just in case.
Well, that's what I get for sleeping late on a Sunday (5:30 am rather than my more normal 4:00/4:30)
But now the regular item isn't showing free in my cart. *pokes cart*

And now, from the actual offer, only one is showing for free; the one offfer I'm not interested in at all, needless to say.
That's what you get from getting some sleep.....
(Oh well, cannot really complain, picked up some nice stuff in the other offerings.)
Well, the fun is over, now to disconnect and go to bed.
I have friction burns on my mouse pad. And a sore wrist.
I missed the avalanche while doing some other things, but now when I try to get one of the few freebies that are meant to be free, they show up in my cart at full cost. Oh well. I've done well on other freebies, so I guess it balances out.

(and I missed also the pure glitch on Pro Bundle.. But hey.. we all need sleeping/eating/working/... and the most important: RENDERING (of course, it's the main purpose of DIGITAL ART ^^)

DAZ pried from my tight fist $38 I would not have ordinarally spent, purchasing items I likely wouldn't have otherwise bought, so if it was indeed a glitch, it was a profitable one...
