Walking animation for Genesis 3 Male character, any product?

Hi,

A project I'm working on requires a walking animation for a character. Is there any product for that, like an aniblock for genesis 3 Male characters?

Also is it very difficult to do a natural walking aniblock? I don't want to spend too much time learning something I'd only use once.

Thank you very much.

Yes, it is very difficult to create your own natural walking aniblock from scratch. There are probably still some free BVH files out there which you can migrate to G3M, but easier to just buy a product like this one:

I would suggest that you forego using the Genesis 3 male figure (or the new Genesis 8, for that matter), and stick with Genesis 2 male, or even Michael 4.  You'll find a wealth of aniBlocks for the older figures but, as I have been discovering, precious little is yet available for the newer figures; and I've been actively searching for them, to no avail.

That's why I'm sticking with Genesis 2; the rigging is sufficiently similar to Genesis and Michael 4, that aniBlocks created for those older figures can be applied to Genesis 2 with minimal to moderate tweaking.

Thanks for your reply. Hix this is bad news for me because I've built my entire project on Genesis 3. I'll try to build the aniblocks myself then.

    Again thank you.

At least you'll learn animation. You could do pose to pose with the new tools by RiverSoft Art in the store. And you can do pose to pose without the tools, just easier to tweak any existing pose collections you have.

Posermocap is coming out with more G3/G8 motion capture stuff in December he said.

    Hi,

Sorry I was offline for a while. Can you please tell me more about the "pose to pose" new tools by RiverSoft Art? I can't seem to find it. Can you give me the link to it? Thank you very much.

  • Now the use of these tools will help you fix poses and design poses so they work better when you're doing pose to pose animation.

    https://www.daz3d.com/assembly-line-pose-automation-kit

They help fix various problems when doing pose-to-pose using store bought poses. But if you're designing your own, you won't need them.

  • @minhdinheeit To follow up on what Kevin posted, the first Everyday Moves pack is slated for a G3/G8 free update towards mid December.

The Ambient Moves pack does have full G3 support and includes a simple walk with some options for it.

There are six packs from Posermocap right now that have G3 support; feel free to have a look and see if there's anything there that you like for G3 and other figures. https://www.daz3d.com/posermocap

Best of luck with your animation!
