Introduction
────────────────────────────────────────────────────
This script will go through all the nodes in a scene, through all materials,
it then switches the texture images to ones located in a folder of your choice.

So you could export a scene using the Daz Studio's "collect maps option"
then in the Maps folder produced by Daz Studio, you could re-size the
"heavyweight" texture images to something smaller ( ex to 1024x1024 )

Then use mcjAltTex to switch all the texture images in the scene to the ones found in the Maps folder

Due to Aiko 4's large ( 4000x4000 ) image textures, the scene shown here was refusing to render in Blender/Cycles
but using the smaller texture images ( 1024x1024) it rendered without problem, in the fast GPU mode

( render Daz Studio Scenes in Blender and its Cycles path-tracing renderer ... see my free script mcjTeleBlender for details )

    Nice shot...

Very useful for GPU rendereres (SLG3 and my GT540 didn't like [BSOD] large images). Many thanks :)

since i started using Aiko5 and her 4000x4000 pixel textures i had to find fast non-destructive ways to switch to low-rez images, this solution is practical so far :)

    only a few tests done

a note: when a bump map is applied to a surface but its strength is at 0%,
i think Daz Studio doesnt export the texture for that bump map,
So mcjAltTex may report missing textures but it wont affect Blender

other note when mcjAltTex cant find a texture, in your special folder, it leaves the current material
