This is what happens when you turn Steph down to 75% and add in 25% Josie.  Super cute, eh?  The body shape is nice too.

    Fisty,

I love this outfit, I'll be sure to buy it!

    Thanks,

Her base resembles a younger Cait Jenner to me to some extent. She has the high eyebrows, same kind of face shape.

I REALLY like her face morph! Love those glowing lights there too laugh I still feel something is 'off' about her eyes - they just don't come across as real eyes to me. Lovely render tho! laugh

    Woo a (mostly finished) render!

The actual render itself needs to bake more, but since I'm doing most of my postwork in blenders compositor (like the DOF I love DOF, but it takes for ever to clear up in Iray) I can just reload the image and my setup will just reapply to the new image.

    OK..

I gave a chance to Stephanie 8, I didn't gave a chance to Josie 8 (already have 7 also), anyway, I think it's also due to my nostalgy about old characters.

I consider people In Real Life and People Virtual (3D/2D) as two seperate manners.
I respect all people on earth. I like all their forms and shapes (IRL) Male/Female/Animals/Insects (and even Trees but they're not people lol).

Anyway, when it come to rate/test/purchase a product with hard-money acquired in real work !
    I'm being intransigeant.

    So for Stephanie 8..

I purchased her (with offer of  3 old pro bundles (and adding (PC+) Medieval Training + Claw Fighter for Genesis 8 Female(s)), where I was have already the 3 others figures, a part of outfits and characters-based on)

First: But before of that I want say I took one whole day for deciding me.. It was hard to decide, trust me, since the PC+ sale will start soon.. (I spent a lot in PA sale) !
Second: About the character itself... I firstly finding her appears like a man (due to some property of the face indeed: cheeks/jaws perhaps..).
Third: I found this topic, full of great informations and discussions about females that are "face-squared".., I read ALL whole pages (since my actual post).

    Then, started thinking to me..
Did I miss something in her appealing/shape/rendering attributes?
    And then..

I carefully analysed all your posts, some are like me, some aren't like me: In all, it was unhelpful.
Unhelpful until I saw @Fisty post.

Well, the orange skin looking was also a problem to me, but Fisty seems eradicate the issue, by his settings.
I must test before I can say that it worked for me, but the logic behind the affected settings will certainly fix the issue.

The main issue to me is I like "babydoll face" or "not-squared-face" and G8 line seems prefering a reversed view than me.
Anyway, I have purchased  some weeks ago the morphs Head/Body for G8F so it will do the trick.

Also, renders of @Fisty seems so natural, so great, and the "jaw/cheeks" seems reduced (even if he said that he used the default shape, so lights/focals can be also the issue of the promos renders on the product page).

What I think is also something sounds weird about Stephanie 8 faces, not only the cheeks/jaws, but... something other..
I cannot point it until @CypherFOX wife on the forum gave the answer...: The head is too large.. That's also this attribute that make the Stephanie 8 looking weird.

Now.. I must test all theses ideas.
Anyway, It make no doubt I will be forced to revisit her shape with either morphs either playing with focals/photometrics settings.

Also, I have Growing Up for G8F aswell (thanks to Zev0 for this great package!).
I think I can use some "Youth Morphs" to make Stephanie 8 a bit "petite" "pop princess" like the product page tend to say :)

In all, I'm not disappointed with the offer, I took, but hope to be not disappointed at all by Stephanie 8.
I think with all above tips, she will just be amazing.

I will edit my post when I finished all my tests (or repost one if many people re-posts since)
I also need to install the last DAZ Studio version, since I'm also in an older versions (4.9.x branch aswell), well, just older to not supporting G8 figure. So need install!

    Cheers and love to all.
Also, thanks to read me fully (or partially).

    Have a nice day.

Well I ended up getting the bundle, not because I like Stephanie 8 but because I liked most everything ELSE in the bundle and I got a few freebies from old Stephanie bundles that I was missing. But I'm happy I did (so far, haven't tested anything except one character) because I like the PA characters without Stephanie. I never use a character as is anyway and always do my own tweaks/morphs on top of it, but here is straight Natalie, no expression, no Stephanie. I accidentally used the makeup without eyebrows and this is only partially congealed because it seems to render even slower than normal on my CPU only laptop but that could be the fault of the hair...

...OK installed everything and began messing around a bit.  First off when I loaded her, I received a message that some assets may not work correctly as I don't have Steph 8 however didn't see any glaring anomalies.  Posing is odd because of the new position in that using older poses, the arms end up in some odd if not very uncomfortable looking positions. (the only set poses I have available are the base G8 ones that are pretty much fashion model based).  This will take some doing to figure out.  No trouble applying G3 skins as long as they are the for base G3 UV, so that gets around the "orange" issue.  Tried a few of the base head and body morphs and they work OK (definitely need Zev0's Breast and Glute Control to have more shaping options).  Autofit of older Genesis, G2 and G3 clothing seems to work OK but there are only a three fit options (Hair, Dress, and Full Body).

So for the most part she works well by herself.

Will post some tests tomorrow as it is late here.

Wait, how do we know what zombies really look like? I need to know this! I don't pay much attention to the world outside DAZ-land and I might have missed something important.

You know who this strong-jawed look would rock on, though? Monique. Ooh, and Karen. I hope they get the sculptor for these recent figures to do those.

Also, I think Xanthe is GORGEOUS and I think Stephanie 8 totally justifies her and if I had any other G8 stuff I would buy the pair of them in a heartbeat.

I don't know why Monique would be able to rock a strong jaw any better than V8, S8 or O8  Black women have round feminine faces too.

Because Monique isn't 'generic black woman' to me.  She's got a strong jaw. I'm a big fan of DE Nadira, too, who DOES have a round face.

Yeah, Monique isn't "catch-all black woman."

OK "generic, catch all black woman" I don't even know what that means.  As a Black woman ... you know what, nevermind, I know where this is leading. Just saying  Monique doesn't always have to be fierce, she can also be soft and sweet.

If I understand your issue correctly, try setting your Genesis 8 character to the Genesis 3 default pose before you apply the Genesis 2 pose. The default Gen 8 pose has the arms at 45 degrees and the legs ar 6 degrees off horizontal/vertical respectivelt. There have been a couple of free presets for this. Sickleyirld offers the exact change in her video about fitting G3F clothing to G8F.

Hey... I'm sorry. I didn't intend to say anything offputting or hurtful. I've only seen Monique in two incarnations and I associate her, as I do all the DazOs, with a certain look and I do put a certain personality onto those looks. I think it would be awesome if they do a soft, sweet black woman D-O and while I'd prefer it be a _second_ black woman, if that ends up instead being Monique, I'm not going to say she looks wrong, because that, too, would be a big step forward for them.

Thanks for the effort, ben98! S8 really mixes well into the characters, and it seems that the reddishness of the skin goes away when you render through spectral? That is interesting.

"Monique isn't a catch-all black woman" means people are associating her with strong features because that is literally the way she is modeled, and her suddenly turning round and soft like she's someone else would be about as weird as Bethany becoming a 110 lb supermodel.

Put it where it makes most sense to you, it's just a material preset for G8 that changes the tanslucency strength and transmitted color.  It won't remove texture maps or change anything else. It will apply to any G3 or G8 character, male or female.  That being said, it's designed for the really orange uber spray tan Daz characters.. It makes Vicky 8 look quite pale, makes Josie look terrible because her skin is already fabulous out of the box, it does work great on Olympia 8.

Np. Yes, definitely less red with spectral natural, at least with the rest of the settings I used. Here, this render is also with spectral natural but I increased red in white point (WP 0.80 1.00 1.00). I also set the SSS Direction in material to 0.55, which usually means more translucent, SSS look than zero direction or same amount but negative value. Wich also usually means more red.

Funny, I thought the skin color looked fine. Probably because I live in LA and everyone (and I'm embarrassed to say, including me) has a spray tan here Mine is just Neutrogena from CVS, but I'd be a white ghost without it LOL.

...I tried recreating the original "T" position but once I applied a pose the arms were still all messed up as it seems to start from the character's original default pose.  Also when I adjusted the base arm position using the "Arms Up/Down" pose it also raised the shoulders (not talking about the "shoudler" bone) which isn't evident in the base G3 default position. If I try to reset to the base "T" pose using a G3 pose set that has a the "T" default as a selection, the arms go back to the 45° position.

Can I get a link to the presets?

I'm not sure why, but when I apply the shader I get a huge amount of noise. Here's V8's "out of the box" settings and then with your shader applied:

Is there certain render settings or lighting settings that need to be applied too? That's just rendered with the default Iray render settings.

I tried it with different lighting and and totally different render settings and it turns out that it renders with a bunch of noise when rendered without a background. However if you render it with a background it's fine. :) I tend to render w/o backgrounds and add them later, so I'll have to be careful when using it. The settings look great though! THANK YOU! Love the way the skin looks with your shader!

So yeah, I'll just need to make sure I'm rendering with a background when I use it. Thank you for shader! *hugs*
