SickleYield has a set of steps on her DeviantArt site that explains how you can do this. 2-3 step process, but no product required. It’s worked for me.

Not yet. I'm waiting for a new edition of Wear Them All so I can use G8 clothing on figures going back to Genesis 1.

I've said it too many times already. So I repeat my mantra here too....
I can't believe Gen 8 products started shipping and on RELEASE DAY there wasn't something in place to make this happen.
This is an oversight. And I wonder what the difficulty is- since there's no way THAT product wouldn't get sped/cart blanche through the gate.

I can believe it, simply because the premier artists that do these kind of things have different priorities on what order they will do them in. Zev0 has said he will do a new version of Fit Control, but it wasn't his first priority. I suspect the same was true for Valzhimer, who did wear them all.
is there going to be a Wear Them All for G8, I'm hanging off buying G8 stuff until I know I can use G8 clothing on G3 without jumping through hoops.
In another thread they said there will be, but I doubt it would be backwards compatible.
I hope so, although I grabbed the new G8, I much prefer working with G3 and below.
Also I've just got all the G3 bits and pieces not ready to move on but would love some of the new clothing G8 has to offer...keeping my fingers crossed ;)

This is more like a utility. See how they rolled out all the morphs for G8 for the launch window?
Morphs are apparently considered Essential Purchases so they arrived in the early launch bundles/sales.
If I did any clothing for G8 AT ALL, I would want my product compatible with as many other Daz products/characters as possible.
That drives sales and makes OTHER vendors MORE $$$.
That, in turn makes it a concern for Daz, overall.
So, no Daz shouldn't (as I say that with full knowledge that I'm reaching into the pot of business-owner when I'm just a consumner, but..) "Hey, whenever you get around to it cause Victoria 8 needs a demon morph and an exclusive Goth Dress BEFORE we get the 200 clothing items coming suitable for purchase by ALL Daz customers.
Zev0 has been doing all the Gen8 morphs so that makes sense...
Looks like Valzhimers last product release was April. That's some cue.
Daz needs to solve this and as I said earlier it should be a UTILITY.
Most (backwards) compatible figure ever......are strong words to roll with.
And I think they should have done their own - even if it wasn't perfect. Let the superstars come along later and make a better version.

I took the RISK and grabbed a bunch of Gen8 clothing - I did that because I didn't think the wait would be this long and/or any vendor would want to capitalize off the new figure frenzy.
I'm buying clothes on lay-a-way or fit-a-way for goodness sakes.
I did that too avxp but i've put the brakes on buying as I really expected a backwards Utility to hit the market a month ago..... certainly didn't think it take this long.
I'd definitely be interested in this. Wear Them All made it possible for me to pick up a slew of G3F clothes for my V6s a full year and a half before I ever started working with V7.
The GI Uniforms for G8M are especially intriguing (THANK YOU FOR FINALLY LISTENING TO US ABOUT HISTORICAL CLOTHING) but they won't fit any of my G3s or G2s. Bummer.
Yeah and so many of the items are rehashes.
Yeah, why do we need similar items for the new figures?
So now, just becuase I buy a gen 8 figure I have to fall back off from YEARS worth(s) of purchases and ONLY render (for the time being) clothing that comes out in the first few weeks of Vic 8s' launch?
No way. It's not as if Daz has released a full mix of clothing and accessories or that many of the new products have BOTH figure generations in mind.
Some do and it's appreciated. Would I rather have them separated so I can stick with stuff that adds on to my current library? yes.
And, not to be more of a jerk, but lots of the Victoria 8 figures look a lot like....Victoria 8.
I guess it's early so.......

SicklYield's enhancements for Autofit were released today, so it's not entirely true that they aren't going to work on them; as I stated up thread, they usually do things in a certain order, which seems to be different than what customers want. And, I think I saw somewhere that Valzhimer got married, so she's been otherwise occupied.
I hear you. A day after it's released, I'll forget how long I kept checking and waiting. lol
Is there any change to the status of this idea? Aeon Soul's Y'vas went straight into my cart with drooling lust... and now I have to throw it back out, because I can't use it. I am crying, here. Really, truly physically crying... it's tragic. Will no one think of the children? Or, in this case, the ancestors to G8 who are not simply discarded upon delivery of something new. :-(

Oh, thank you so much! The Daz search engine is so picky, I couldn't find anything :-P Somehow, I never pick the correct search term...
I will test this out with another G8 outfit at the first' non-critical' purchase opportunity... but it does mean forgoing the lovely potential sale on the new and shiny Y'vas. I need to work it down to a Genesis... now I read about push modifiers and smoothing things... I suppose this outfit will be the grail that forces me to learn :-)
